IPad air 2 stuck in headphones mode

Ive tried almost every solution minus the origonal headphones. They've been packed up and sent with my house hold goods.
ive tried: hard reset. Powering off. Playing music and unplugging headphones. Cleaning headphone jack. Unplugging headphones numerous times.
PLugging in in power and headphones and unplugging headphones while playing video. Resetting all setting. Any suggestions are helpful
tthe headphone jack my have gotten slightly moist but not wet. I've only had this iPad air for 2 months and has the latest update. The riNiger sound works through the speaker and everything will play through headphones. But forever stays in headphones mode.

  • New iPad Air 2 stuck in recovery mode, won't restore

My mother recently bought a new iPad Air 2 and found that the Touch I.D wasn't working, so she called support and they told her to restore the iPad, which she tried. When she tried to restore the iPad it says an unknown error has occurred and the iPad can't be restored. Now the iPad is stuck in recovery mode and only showing the connect to iTunes screen. I've tried restoring from different computers and restoring from a downloaded IPSW. At the moment the iPad is a very shiny paperweight that can't even turn on
    Please help!

    FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
    1. Turn off iPad
    2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
    3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
    4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
    5. Release Home button.
    ON COMPUTER
    6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
    7. Select "Restore iPad"...
    Note:
    1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
    2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.
    3. Repeat the process if necessary.

  • IPad Air is stuck in Dfu mode and iTunes does not recognize

Hello while i was restoring my ipad air and it wasn't going on so i disconnected my ipad air while "restoring" and it was in Recovery mode and i tried restore it again and it gaved me error 2005 and i put in dfu mode and tryed it again and it gave me same error 2005 and i tried disconnecting usb cable and connect again and then iTunes didn't recognize my iPad Air what can i do?

    Hey Ozan274,
Thanks for the question. If your iPad is not recognized in iTunes while in recovery mode, follow the steps in this article:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
While you should follow all of the steps in the article, the applicable information is located in Step 5, sub-section titled “If the device is not recognized while in Recovery Mode”
I also see that you are experiencing error 2005, which may be the root cause of your main issue. For more information, see this article:
Resolve specific iTunes update and restore errors
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694
    Check USB connections
If there’s an issue with the USB port, cable, dock, or hub, or if the device becomes disconnected during restore, try troubleshooting the USB connection, then troubleshooting your security software.
    Common errors: 13, 14, 1600-1629, 1643-1650, 2000-2009, 4000, 4005, 4013, 4014, 4016, “invalid response”, and being prompted to restore again after a restore completes.
To narrow down the issue, you can also change up your hardware:
    - Use another USB cable.
    - Plug your cable into a different USB port on your computer.
    - Try a different dock connector (or no dock).
    - Add (or remove) a USB hub between your device and computer.
    - Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, with no routers, hubs, or switches.
If you see your error after changing your USB connections, continue to the next section to troubleshoot your hardware.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • Can't Restore/Update iPad Air. Stuck in DFU mode

I'm not sure what else to do as I've looked and researched and can't figure this out. I'm trying to update my iPad Air to iOS 8.1.3, started at 9 PM and now it's 2 AM. Each time I attempted to update the iOS, I got the iTunes error 17. Research said it may be an issue contacting Apple servers, so I after doing research I edited my hosts file and added 74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com to it. After doing that, I get error 3014. At one point I was able to get past that, but then I got error 2005. As it stands now, my iPad is stuck in DFU with the iTunes icon saying to connect it but I can't do anything to get it back up. Can anyone please help figure this out?... To summarize:
    1. iTunes gives error 17 with:
    120.0.0.1 localhosts
    ::1           localhosts
    74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com
    2. iTunes gives error 3014 with:
    120.0.0.1 localhosts
    ::1           localhosts

Forgot to mention, this is the most recent version of iTunes 12.1.0.71 and I'm using Windows.

  • Ipad 2 stuck in headphones mode

Ever since I upgraded to ios6, my ipad 2 has been stuck in headphones mode in airplay. I've tried plugging in my headphones and pulling them out. I've powered down and started back up. I've done a full restore. Never had this problem until the upgrade.
Anyone else running into this and does anyone have a fix?
    Thanks.

    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPad. ( I think you do this restore)
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

  • Getting stuck in Headphone mode not necessarily a hardware issue, is it?

I've read on the net that cleaning the headphone jack can correct this issue. I've also read that inserting the headphones and removing them many times (I think I've seen 7 or 8 times) can also correct the issue. None of these issues worked for me.
What I did notice is that the presence of my headphones was indeed being detected. With the headphones plugged-in, I set the volume to a low volume, for example. With the headphones removed, I set the volume near maximum. Mind you, the phone is in Headphone mode, and won't normally play out of the speaker. But when you insert the headphones, in this example, the volume jumps to the low setting, and when the headphones are removed, the volume jumps to the near maximum setting.
So insertion and removal of the headphones is indeed detected. So this isn't a hardware issue, then, is it? There's got to be something else going on.

Well, I backed up, erased, and restored to get proper functionality. No longer stuck in headphone mode. I tried compressed air, and cleaning the jack. Those attempts didn't fix me. I believe it's just a bug that will eventually get fixed, or a setting that will reset the logic associated with the headphone.

  • My ipod 4g is stuck in headphone mode!!!!!!! HELP !!!!!!!

my ipod 4g is stuck in headphone mode and i tried EVERYTHING but no solution HELP I DONT WANT TO CHANGE MY IPOD FOR ANOTHER ONE !!!!! I really want to hear all my stuff without using my headphones every second of the day!!! PLEASE!!!!!

If restoring from backup did not solve the problem you have a problem with the headphone jack.  If under warranty Apple will replace it under warranty.  There are third-partys places that can replace it too.  Yu can, if you are capible, replace it yourself.  See:
    iFixit: The free repair manual
    One third-party place:
iPhone Repair, Service & Parts: iPod Touch, iPad, MacBook Pro Screens
Saying you tried everything provides little information since we do not know what your "everything" is.

  • IPhone4 - Stuck in Headphone mode

Ok, My iPhone4 is completely stuck in headphone mode.
It was in my pocket today and it did get slightly damp (freaking rain).
any-case, I really do not know what to do, I've tried using compressed air to blow into the jack etc, No luck.
    Restoring. No luck.
    Rebooting. No luck..
    What should I do?

    Randomphil,
Same issue here.  It looked like most of the fixes for this problem you see out there were posted by owners of the iphone 3 & earlier, and none of them worked on my 4 -- not to mention, I hadn't put headphones in since the last time I used the onboard speaker.  I think the issue was actually fixed with the 4 as I never have had this problem until now, despite using various non-iPhone headphones for months now.
My phone was in my glove box for a few hours during a foggy day, and when I got back to the car, a small amount of condensation appeared on it when I was handling it - probably due to the quick temperature increase from nearly freezing to being in my hands.  Now that I've had time to think clearly instead of rushing to my phone, I realize that, yes, this commonly happens with electronics, even if you're not getting them wet, the condensation in the air can quickly soak into your phone - especially during a rapid temperature change - and cause potential issues, although they are usually minor.  Need to allow time for the moisture to dry before using the phone.
I saw your comment yesterday and decided to give it a try.  About 3 hours in a tightly sealed bag of rice seems to have wicked out all the moisture, and it works fine now.
    Thanks!

  • Sound gets stuck on "headphones mode" every time i try to play music.

i know there's already a topic like this, but this one is a tad bit different.
ever since i updated to 3.1.2 on my iPhone 2nd gen, every time i use my iPhone headphones and take them out, i'm stuck on "HEADPHONES" mode until my iPhone decides it doesn't want to be in it anymore. i read all the stories about blowing it with an air canister, did it. sucking the dust out, sadly i did it. plugging in and out, did it. restoring, did it.
it just ***** that i can't use my iPhone for music.. it makes me want to use my blackberry again.
    any suggestions?

Your iCloud backup doesn't contain your music.  It will restore music purchased from the iTunes store to your iOS device if you restore the backup by redownloading it from the iTunes store.  You can also redownload music purchased from the iTunes store to your iTunes library on your computer as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519.  This will not recover music from other sources.
To transfer music from your phone to your computer, you will need to extract it using 3rd party software such as Touch Copy.
