IPad Air browser Safari crashes

Brand new iPad Air 128 GB and Verizon , new purchased. Safari crashes often. It is past the two week period to swap up. 101GB available. IOS 7.1
I see I am not alone with this issue but I have not found a way to fix this issue.
When is this going to be fixed?
Very disappointed!

I found this on the internet:
Try going to Settings > Safari and tap Clear History and Clear Cookies and Data.
Try rebooting the iPad by holding down the Sleep/Wake button and then slide to power off.
If that doesn’t work then go to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > Back Up Now then go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings and set the iPad Air up again and restore your backup.

  • After updating to iOS 8 the iPad Air is getting crashed frequently including safari

After updating to iOS 8 the iPad Air is getting crashed frequently including safari.

Have you tried to reset it? Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds. When you see the silver apple, let go and let it reboot and see if that helps.
You may need to restore your iPad. That's where you back it up, then restore it to factory defaults, then put your backup back on so you don't lose any data. Sometimes a fresh start clears out any glitches and can help.

  • After turning off private browsing Safari crashes immediately upon launch.

After turning off private browsing Safari crashes immediately upon launch. I tried soft-resetting, and clearing my cookies and cache. I basically launches in private browsing mode and then immediately tries to switch to regular browsing. When the screen changes, it crashes to desktop.
Any ideas, other than wiping my iPad?
(I'm using iOS 5, of course, but it is not available under the Operating System dropdown in this forum)

I'm seeing the same problem, and it was repeatable for me.  iPad (original 3G, 64GB), iOS 5.  (There are now a couple threads with this same problem.)
Once the crashes start, it would continue to crash every time I tried to bring up Safari.  It crashes just as it finishes showing the tool bars, but before any content is displayed.
Manually killing the app did not make the problem go away.
One time, shutting down and restarting the iPad fixed it, but that solution did not work the next time I went in and out of Private browsing.  Also, once the crashing begins, going back into Private browsing did not stop the crashing.
The last time it got into the crashing condition, I stopped the crashing by turning off the setting to display the Bookmark bar.  Strange!
I have like 20 Safari crash logs that I hope will get auto-sent to Apple sometime today (I reenabled the send data to Apple option).

  • New ipad mini retina: Safari crashes every time I hit the plus icon to open a second page

Brand new iPad mini retina, safari crashes every time it try to open a second window

Cleared and cleared then rebooted. Worked like a charm. Multiple windows open fine now, hardest part was navigating my way back here. Thanks dido ones... Bah auto correct diavonex.... Anyway, much appreciated. Just surprised it didn't work right straight out of the box,  but possibly a hiccup from starting this device from a backup of my iPhone.

  • My ipad has a safari crash

my ipad has a safari crash report from a third party how do i repair this?

Close Safari, double tap on home button then swipe up.  Go into Settings->Safari->Clear History & Website Data.  That will clear your cache.
Now try opening Safari again to see if your problem is fixed.  Was the 'crash report' a pop-up window on a webpage?  Ignore it, it's not generated by your iPad.
They do NOT work for Apple.

  • My iPad air either keeps crashing with blue screen or reboots it self. Other times it just locks up. It does not seem to matter what program or process I am doing.

My iPad air either keeps crashing, gets blue screen or reboots itself. It does not seem to matter which program I am using or process I am involved with. Never had this program with my 3. I have the latest software loaded. Any help would be appreciated.

  • IPad Air and random crashes

    Greetings,
I'm now on my 3rd iPad (still have my original iPad, and an iPad 3), and just bought an iPad Air, so I've been around them since their inception. I must admit that I've never had any issues with my iPads, until I purchased this Air. I don't know if it's iOS 7.0.4 or the Air itself, but it seems to crash like a drunk driver with sunglasses on at night. It really doesn't matter which app I have running, but I've noticed it most often in Safari and 500px. Safari will be humming along, and next thing I know, I'm back on the Home screen, and whatever I was previously doing is lost (for instance a transaction that I was making through PayPal). With 500px, I'll be viewing photos and suddenly I'm in the Home screen, but can frequently continue from where I previously was.
I might be in another app, working away, and then the iPad simply reboots, and I find myself staring the Apple logo on the black screen. Once I'm able to enter my password and get back in to the iPad, all of my apps are still up and runninng, but whatever I was previously doing is lost. My iPad is most often connected to WiFi, and though I have the cellular addition, it's alwasy turned off. I've had similiar things happen on my iPhone 5 running iOS 7.0.4, but not nearly as often as on my iPad Air.
Has anyone else had similiar issues or problems? Any thoughts? Any fixes?
    Jeff

HHe's. A simple visit to Settings, disabling and then immediately re-enabling the feature fixes the issue. But just for a while.
APPLE: Do you hear us?  This should be a VERY easy issue to resolve. It's pervasive, well documented, and utterly annoying and frustrating. Please issue a fix ASAP.

  • IPad Air Apps keep crashing after iOS 7.1 Update

Hi, I just upgraded to ios 7.1 on my ipad air. Everything was working fine before the update. But after, everytime I try to open any app, it attempts to start, but then immediately crashes. Even when I download an app from the app store, it still crashes. I have tried everything (restart, reset, hard reset, etc.) and I can't think of anything else to do but replace it which I don't want to do.

    Hello jscott1997,
It sounds like all your apps are closing when you open them, even new apps are doing the same thing. I recommend starting by closing all the open apps on the phone:
iOS: Force an app to close
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
    Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that and restart the phone and test the issue again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
If it persists, I would next backup your device to iTunes with this article:
iOS: How to back up and restore your content
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
And restore it from your backup with the steps in the following article. These steps will erase, and re install the iOS software, so that when you restore from the back up it is not restoring on top of the previous iOS installation:
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1414
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the very best,
    Sterling

  • IOS8 iPad Air (A7) Safari Auto-fill slows text entry down

    iPad Air (A7)
    iOS8
    64GB
    I am entering text into the following site (renew a subscription): http://oracle-sub.halldata.com/site/ORA000401OCrenew/init.do?{removed http query params}
Safari auto text is severely slowing text entry (the suggested text at the bottom of the screen is cool, but seems to cause a drag)
Aside from turning this nifty feature off, iOS8 safari seems it needs to be tuned to work properly.
    Suggestions?
    Thanks

  • IPad Air is getting crashed

i'm iPad air 16gb. I had upgraded my iPad to iOS 8 now I am running latest iOS on my device. The device is being crashing from when I had upgraded my device to iOS 8.
GEtting blue screen and the device is restarting.

  • Ipad Air iOS8 safari problems

Quite often my iPad Air won't let me select or tap links in safari in iOS8.0.2, the screen is unresponsive.. If i move or scroll the web page it then allows me to click on links.

The EXACT same issue here, albeit an iPad 3, just over a year old, cannot click on anything in a web page till ive scrolled, it's just spazzed out on me and turned off with the apple logo, didn't turn back on, took me 10minutes to get the thing back on, everything is slower since ios8 and even worse since 8.0.2, apps don't respond, doesn't recognise multi gestures? Evidently this is a major problem and it would be prudent for Apple to check in on this one. I'm sure they could do without the press ravaging that one as well as a few morons who sat on their phones and want a replacement. (Unless they really do just fold under pressure, I wouldn't know - im still waiting for my £700 purchase to be delivered over a MONTH after it was promised).

so I went to the Genius Bar today
the genius ran the usually diagnostic
she said I had a memory issue
she tried to blame it on some old backup restore
    but I've never used one
i always start fresh on a new device manually (other than iCloud contacts and bookmarks)
well she wouldn't listen and insisted she restore the device yet again
((vie already done it 2x in the last week)
anyways things were fine for an hour
    tthe problem is now back
i made another appointment for Monday
know for a fact this issue does not affect every iPad air 2
there are several in my family
i am beginning to think its an issue with low performing ram
    ppossibly apple used two suppliers
i don't want to fail victim to conspiracy theories
but I am extremely ****** off and I will demand a new iPad on monday

  • My iPad air keeps crashing and freezing when browsing the internet . Please help :(

My husband and I updated to the new OS. Now our iPad Air's keep crashing and freezing whilst browsing the internet.  We have done a reset and swiped away pages but nothing is helping. Its very frustrating Can anyone help? Thank you Jo

Please tell me that it has NEVER been jailbroke.  If it has not been jailbroke, here are some standard repair procedures:
First, confirm that this is what you did for a "reset."  Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again.  Also, since you have IOS-7, read this.

  • Why is there no fix for Safari's unsupported iPad Air URL problem?

With my IPad Air the Safari browser has an unsupported URL bug that needs fixing. Will there be a fix for this soon? it's really annoying.

    JimHdk,
    Thanks for your reply.
When I'm viewing news websites on my Ipad Air, like msnbc.com, there's these annoying ads that
block the next news video segment on a show The Ed Show and other MSNBC news shows.
Then an "Unsupported URL" error message is on my Safari browser. It's been happening after the most recent Ipad Air software update.
It also happens when I mirror the MSNBC website on my tv. Any ideas?

  • Safari ios7 issues on iPad Air - can't open new tabs - + sign closes app

Safari ios7 issues on iPad Air - can't open new tabs or view other tabs.
The + sign just closes the app every single time!
In some cases, the back and forward buttons don't work.
It's driving me crazy becuase if the webpage I'm on opens and ad or tab that I don't want to look at, I can't close it and go back, I have to retype the web address in and find where I was on the site!

I, too, tried all the fixes...nothing worked.
Found another thread on this forum and looks like a lot of us are having same problem.
Next time it happens, go to SETTINGS/GENERAL/ABOUT and check to see it there is a "low memory" incident report.
    If there is:
See the discussion thread "iPad Air Low Memory Crashes".
Seems to be common....this could turn into a HUGH issue.
