Ipad Air Cannot Connect to Itunes on Macbook Pro

Hello,
I just got a new Macbook Pro 13" retina, when I try to sync my Ipad Air with my computer two things happen.  1) On my Ipad Air, a "Trust This Computer" messages flashes continuously and nothing happens if I hit Trust because the message disappears and reappears too quickly.  2) On my Macbook Pro 13" retina, on itunes a message says that "Itunes cannot connect to this Iphone.  The device is no longer connected."  I am running Itunes 11.1.5 and my Ipad is running ios 7.0.6.  What do you suggest to fix this issue?

When I plug the iPads into the computer, running OSX 10.9.3, I get an unending series of beeps and a message asking if I trust this computer. Unable to reply to the appearing and disappearing message. Another post sent me to an apple link saying this computer only supports USB 3 devices. Been using macs since the late 80s. I will find the answer and return.

  • My IPad says "cannot connect to iTunes store" when I try to update

    My IPad says "cannot connect to iTunes store" when I try to update apps.  How can I resolve this?

    I had the same problem and tried absolutely everything...on my own and stuff I'd read on-line.  Nothing worked.  What finally did was this.  I held down an app until all started jiggling.  Then I deleted one of the ones that needed updating.  Then pushed the round button at the bottom of the iPad to stop the movement.  Then went to the "Featured" section of the App Store.  In the search box (top right corner) I typed in the name of the app I'd just deleted.  When it pulled up, I chose "Install".  Worked perfectly.  I went through this process, one-by-one, until I got all of them done.  Now, everything is updated.
    Sure hope this helps you and hope this isn't the new norm for how to do updates.  I used to just select "Update All", entered my password, and the updates started happening.

    iPad says "cannot connect to iTunes Store" but can access internet and receive emails...just won't work with App Store? Any suggestions?

    You can go through this for help.
    Can't Connect to the iTunes Store
    Some times it can be as simple as restarting or rebooting your iPad and rebooting your router. Unplug the router for 20-30 seconds and then plug it in again.
    Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
    Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    Quit iTunes or the App Store and restart. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

  • Ipad 1 - "Cannot connect to iTunes store"

    ipad 1can download new apps and make in app purchases but when i try to update apps I get the error message "Cannot connect to iTunes store" what am I missing?

    You're not missing anything. I've seen this happen before. No clue why it happens, but it's happened to me as well.
    The first thing I would do is force close the App store. Double tap the home button to get to the multitasking screen then swipe up the App Store preview thumbnail off the top of the screen to close the app. Tap the home button. Then reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen. Let the iPad start up and try the App Store updates again.

  • IPad 2 "Cannot connect to iTunes Store."

    I have a new iPad 2 (32 gig non-3G) and when I try to download an app from the App Store it takes me to the home screen and displays "Cannot connect to iTunes Store." My internet connection is fine and my iOS (5.0.1) is up to date. iTunes and the App Store open and seem to be connected.
    I have tried turning off and then turning on the iPad and it will sometimes allow me to download and install apps but not always. The same is true for reconnecting to the network.
    Anyone know how to fix this?
    Thanks

    I had the same problem with only my ipad 2 while my ipad 1 and iphone 4 would work perfectly in the same location. I don't know is something has changed at the apple end to make my ipad 2 connect again but this is what I did and things seem to be OK for me for now..
    Try it out and see if it helps.
    On the ipad 2 go to settings .. Store..On the right side touch the apple ID at the bottom of the right side
    That will open your Apple ID with options like Vew Apple ID, Sign out and Iforgot.
    Press Iforgot It takes you to a screen to enter your apple ID. Then Next and it sends you an email to rreset your password. I did not reset the password and the email is valid for only 3 hrs it seems. I just went back to using the ipad 2 as usual and something seems to have worked.
    Let me know if this helps anyone else. I had this problem only after upgrading to ios 5.

    You may have to do this several times.
    Saw this solution on another post about an iPad in a school environment. Might work on your iPad so you won't lose everything.

    ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
    Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
    I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
    Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
    If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
  • Cannot connect Samsung HDTV to Macbook pro (late 2011)
    I just bought a Samsung HDTV and would like to connect it to my Macbook pro from late 2011 running lion. I have both the adapter and the hdmi cable. The hdmi cable is plugged into the tv. When I try to change the source on the tv to hdmi it says no device found. I have tried turning both the tv and laptop off and then plugging in the cable, then turning on the tv then computer. The computer does not recognize that anything is plugged into it either. When I go to system preferences: display, it does not recognize the tv.
    HELP!!!!
    After clicking detect displays I assume and mirroring is checked.
    Try a NVRAM reset see if that helps.
    Leave it connected to the TV w/TV on, power off the MBP and power it on holding the following keys:
    COMMAND+OPTION+P+R hold till before the start chime and continue to hold til you hear the start chime 2 times, then release. Reboot.
    Placing your device into recovery (DFU-Device Firmware Upgrade) mode:
    Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
       1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the
           other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
       2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds
           until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
                  * If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the
                    Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off,
                    release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
      3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the
           device. The device should turn on. Note: If you see the battery charge warning,
           let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some
           charge, and then start with step 2 again.
      4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
           When this screen appears you can release the Home button:
      5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert:
      6. Use iTunes to restore the device.
    If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.
    Note: When using recovery mode, you can only restore the device. All user content on the device will be erased, but if you had previously synced with iTunes on this computer, you can restore from a previous backup. See this article for more information.
  • Time Capsule cannot connect via PPPoe when MacBook Pro can.
    I used to connect to the internet using my TC as a router, connecting via PPPoE using a DSL modem.
    While my ISP had a problem with their network, the TC stop connecting to the PPPoE host and the amber light kept blinking. Because this was taking too long, I decided to investigate this issue.
    I tried connecting my laptop directly to the modem, the restored my original configuration.
    My MacBook Pro connected via ethernet to the DSL modem, is able to connect to the internet using a PPPoE connection. When I try the same via the TC, it just doesn't connect!
    What should I do to troubleshoot this?
    Is it possible that it is related to my ISP? Even though the laptop manages to connect via PPPoE.
    Even the DSL modem when switched to router functionality is able to connect via PPPoE.
    Only the TC seems to fail. What could be the problem?
    (I have ruled out incorrect passwords and faulty wiring...)
    There is some extra info I need.
    What modem.. make and model..?? What kind of broadband?
    How is the Buffalo setup? Is it router or bridged and if router is it using pppoe?
    There is nothing wrong with keeping the buffalo .. it is a very reasonable router.. and just use the TC in bridge plugged into it..
    I have to confess I really dislike the airport utility v6 in Mountain Lion.. it is a kiddie toy version of the real v5 utility. Half your problems relate to the near to useless nature of the utility.
    Can you install 5.6 and then we can get somewhere.
    Here is howto..
    How to load 5.6 into ML.
    1. Download 5.6 for Lion.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1482
    Click to open the dmg but do not attempt to install the pkg.. it won't work anyway.
    2. Download and install unpkg.
    http://www.timdoug.com/unpkg/
    Run unpkg on the desktop.. it is very simple.. drag the AirPortUtility56.pkg file over to unpkg.. and it will create a new directory of the same name on the desktop.. drill down.. applications utilities .. there lo and behold is Airport utility 5.6 .. drag it to your main utilities directory or just run it from current location.
    You cannot uninstall 6.1 so don't try.. and you cannot or should not run them both at the same time.. so just ignore the toyland version.. the plastic hammer.. and start using 5.6.. a real tool.
