IPad Air - Kindle - wifi query

I downloaded the Kindle app.
I then downloaded some books from Amazon.
The books appear in my Kindle app.
But when I try to open to read I get a pop-up telling me I don't have a wifi connection.
I thought that once I downloaded the books they would be physically on my iPad Air.
Can someone explain this to me?

Yes they appear in the cloud.
When I have a wifi connection do I select the book then select download and this will send it to my device?
All this is new to me and very frustrating too.

You have to locate acessible WiFi networks. Most major hotels now have WiFi.

IPad Air 32GB Wifi model, won't turn on, recover, restore, with error 4005 after trying to use facetime, switched off. :( HELP!

bought my mom a new iPad Air 32GB WiFi model via eBay and got it yesterday. It worked all fine and I even updated it to the latest iOS version. It worked all fine for the next few hours until I tried to have a facetime call using my iPad Air. Somehow within few seconds after the call being initialized, my moms iPad got switched off. I tried almost all the solutions I found via Apple community, google and other sites. None of them worked. ( Restore, Recovery, DFU Mode, Pressing Home and ON/OFF switch etc ) Somehow I managed to connect the iPad to itunes and when i press the restore button, I get error 4005 after 5 - 10 mins appearing 'waiting for iPad' message. I am in Sri Lanka and I have no Apple Stores here, or authorized service providers. since this isn't a fault of the ebay seller, cannot return it too. Please help me!

Thank you very much for your time and trying to help me on this issue. I really appreciate it.
I went through those steps more than few time since yesterday ( saw you had posted this solution on a similar issue by another user )
still no luck. Now I cannot exit from DFU mode, or either restore it due to 4005 error. ( since its a new iPad, i only had few apps installed. so not going to loose much data as well ). I also try to exit DFU mode by using few third party apps such as Wondershare Dr.Fone, Phone Rescue, ReiBoot, RecBoot. Only wondershare Dr.Fone app showed me a screen with a message saying the iOS device is 'not in normale mode, press home + off/on button to switch to normal mode, which never worked either.
Really appreciate your help but I am open for more solutions other than Restore, Recovery Mode, DFU mode or any method to overcome error 4005. I would also like to know are there any softwares to diagnose the iPad Air to detect whats wrong with it. so that I can be sure if it is a hardware failure or firmware issue.

MD789FD/A is the German Market model
Essentially the same. But intended for different markets. A German iPad might not be serviced in a UK Apple Store.

I can no longer speak and woud like to use my Ipad Air 2 WiFi Cellular to serve as a texting device to replace my phone. Will using my cell number and Talkatone allow me to text and receive text as I do on my phone?

A laryngectomy has left me unable to speak over my cell. I still need to communicate via text and would like to use one device. I have an Ipad Air 2 WiFi + Cellular that I use to write messages on and would like to know if adding the ap Talkatone and using my cell number will allow me to use my Ipad as my one communication device and not have to carry my phone any more.

I have the iPad air 2 wifi version and I was trying to connect the iPad to my android phone's wifi hotspot. It connects to the hotspot but I am not able to access it and the browser says "cannot connect to internet". I have updated my iPad to iOS 8.1.3. Please help me resolve this.

With the cellular one you can also access the internet via cellular (with appropriate data plan)

There is no way that you can carry that large of a printer around to print are you trying to do remote printing? Maybe you should make that printer a Google Cloud printer that would work better for you.

IPad Air only wifi syncs one way

Hi,
I have both an iPhone 5 and an iPad Air running the latest version of iOS 7. Both are on the same (Aiport Extreme ac) network as my iMac running Marverick and iTunes 11.1.5.
Both iOS devices are set up for wifi syncing and appear in the iTunes devices list. However, since day 1 of owning the iPad Air I have never been able to start a sync from the Mac in iTunes. If I try iTunes says its looking for it (despite it already showing in the devices list), but eventually gives up and says it can't be found. It works fine for the iPhone 5, however.
What I can do is start a sync from the ipad itself. I would say 70-80% of the time it will see the Mac and start syncing.
I've tried resetting the network settings, and resetting the iPad completely but with no change. I can sync 'from' the iPad but not 'to' it.
Has anyone else come across this and did you get a fix?

Not sure. I also have an iPhone 5 that, like you, never seems to have an issue.I have had this happen before on rare occassions only with my iPad Air but not regularly. So maybe there is something to it, however, usually ejecting the iPad, quitting iTunes and relaunching works for me.
Are you sure Airplane mode isn't on?
Did you try syncing when the iPad was unlocked?
What happens when you initiate sync from the iPad (Settings > General > ITunes Wi-Fi Sync)
The last resort is a restore. First backup then restore from the backup. If the problem still exists then restore again as a new device to eliminate the possibility of the problem existing in the backup.
Restoring iOS Software
If the problem persists then make a Genius Bar appointment or contact Apple for repair.
