Ipad air not staying connected to zagg keyboard

I have an ipad air that I bought 6 months ago. I recently got a zagg keyboard/case for it, but am having problems with the two staying paired. I thought it was the keyboard but after researching online, some people think it's an apple problem. I am unable to speak and use this as my was of communicating, so it gets quite frustrating when I'm in the middle of a conversation and it quits working. Has anyone else had this happen? Were you able to find a solution for it? Thanks for any help or ideas.

Hello geowull,
The article linked below details a number of troubleshooting steps that can help stabilize the connection between your iPad and your keyboard.

    1. Turn router off for 30 seconds and on again, this will refresh the IP address of your iPad
    2. Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    3. Try adding your SSID and Password manually
    Settings>Wi-Fi>Other...>Other Network

  • IPad not staying connected

Hi all, I'm new here and not as technologically literate as most people on here! I went to the Apple store yesterday because my iPad is not staying connected at home. I have no problem, however, with my iPhone, iMac, and iTouch. It was suggested that my router is getting "bogged down" and that I can set up a MAC IP Address. How do I know what IP address to use? I've searched on here, and I'm not having any luck. I'm very close to buying Apple's router, but wanting to see if I can fix my problem first. Thanks in advance for your help!
    (p.s. I have a D-Link WBR-2310)

We had this problem on an all-Apple WiFi network with the iPad 10 feet from an AirPort Express. The folks at the Apple Store offered to replace the iPad or wait for a software update - surprisingly, the latter course fixed the problem a few weeks later. Sooo... update the iPad software if you haven't already done so and see if that doesn't help.

  • ZAGG not staying connected using iOS8

Using iPad2- When I upgraded to iOS*, the ZAGG keyboard that I se will not stay connected when trying to post on social media. I have tried going to settings/bluetooth/ and clicking on forget the device. Then re-installing the ZAG by using bluetooth and connect. I then get a 4-number code and have to hit enter and it connects. This will last for awhile until I try to post on facebook or other media.

Not quite the right place - I'll let the Hosts know, and if they see fit to move it I'm sure they will.
On your machine try the following:
    Open System Preferences --> Network
Show: Airport (select this option from the drop down next to 'show')
Select Airport tab on the far left.
By default, join: Preferred networks (again, select from adjacent drop down)
Ensure your network is in the list, and is at the top (drag and drop your network to the top to re-order).
If your network is not present, click the '+' sign below the box, and find your network and add it manually. If this is the only wireless network you want to use, select any others if present and click the '-' button below the box to remove them.
Good luck, let us know how you get on.

  • Is anyone having a problem with the new iPad (Gen. 3) not staying connected to the charger? It seems to ALWAYS get jiggled loose and no longer be charging. My iPad 1 has no issue but I can't browse Internet w/o new iPad unplugging. Horrible!

I notice that my new IPad (3rd generation) will not stay connected to the power cord at all, I'm not exagerating, if I plug it in and browse the Internet without fail it will become unplugged and I will have to push the plug back in (Ba-beep). Ive actually grown to despise that sound when you plug your iPhone or iPad in because it reminds me of how much money I spent on something that PHYSICALLY will not charge while I'm using it.
I know the problem with it holding a charge while in use, I get it, the screen is amazing and it takes a lot to run the display, however, it is unacceptable to me that I can't even keep the thing plugged in while I'm using it. I can not even leave it on my Cal King bed overnight because I will wake up in the morning to find that the plug has been jiggled loose in a corner, so it's still attached but not making a connection thus not being charged.
I love the 4GLTE from Verizon and I love the iPad, but I'm actually using my 1st generation IPad while I am at home so I can leave my new $900 iPad on a table to charge free of incident so I can use the 4G while I'm away from wifi during the day. I have been getting more upset about this because I can not even use the Griffin extended cord to charge the iPad and be far from the plug because only the original apple sync/charge cord will have a better shot at staying in. Absolutely none of my non apple cables will stay in the iPad 3 while having it in my hands.
The plug is at an angle, unlike the first iPad, not sure about the iPad 2. Please let me know if they have same issue.
If anyone else is having this problem with the Gen 3 iPad please let me know because I'm tempted to do something about it with apple and I'm hoping that I just for some reason have a bad cable receiver or something and maybe I can get a replacement and enjoy the iPad as I had expected to. There is no reason why I should be even using my first iPad and I have friends that want to buy it but I am not selling it because I'm unable to sell it because I can't handle the new iPad while it's plugged in, that is ridiculous if it's a common issue so please let me know!

Thanks for the swift reply, I have been looking online and a loose plug seems to be somewhat of an issue with many, I hope mine is actually a problem and not what others are experiencing. It's taken me this long to even reach out for the simple fact I HATE being a complainer but this is just horrible.
Do you have an iPad 3 as well? And is yours not experiencing any issues close to mine?
    Thanks again!

  • IPad 3 and iPhone 5 will not stay connected to wifi although I am close to router and have strong signal

iPad 3 and iPhone 5 will not stay connected to wifi although I am close to router and have strong signal. I have to keep joining the network or restarting devices or forgetting network and rejoining it.  As a side note my 1st gen iPhone which I upgraded to iPhone 5 yesterday always stayed connected!

The steps to try would be to:
    1. Restore the iPhone to Factory.
    2. If that does not solve the problem replace the iPhone.
If Verizon is offering to replace the iPhone for free under warranty I would go with that option.

  • How do you resolve the problem of ipad not staying connected to internet. other laptops remain connected but ipad just disconnects after about 5 seconds.

how do you resolve the problem of ipad not staying connected to internet when other devices are connected. Ipad disconnects after about 5 seconds.

Look at iOS Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections  http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
    Additional things to try.
Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
On your iPad go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings and see if that enables you to connect.
If none of the above suggestions work, look at this link.

  • I just get the new iPad air and when connecting it to my laptop, why the battery is not charging?

just get the new iPad air and when connecting it to my laptop, why the battery is not charging?

A lot of computers don't provide enough power to their USB ports to charge the iPad at a sufficient rate - it may still be charging slowly, and should be a bit quicker if the iPad's screen is off (if you leave it for a while and then disconnect it from your computer you may find that it's battery percentage has gone up). The wall charger is usually the most efficient way to charge the iPad.

  • Macbook Pro will not stay connected to 3Play Bluetooth Receiver

Hello.  My brand new Macbook Pro Retina (2.3 Ghz Intel Core i7, 16 GB 1600 Mhz DDR3, 500 GB memory, OSX 10.9.5) paired with the 3Play immediately and connected immediately, but would not stay connected over ten seconds.  My IPad and my android Galaxy phone work perfectly.  One website suggested that you have to download bluetooth explorer from Apple Developer and enable Apt-X.  I could not find a download of that type on the Apple Developer site.  Does anyone have a suggestion?  I am brand new to OSX and am still kind of stumbling my way through; in other words, I am less than a novice!  Thanks!

  • Why is my iPhone 5 not staying connected to my wi-fi

Why is my iPhone 5 not staying connected to my wi-fi

I am so flippen ticked. I have been a iPhone, 3, 4,4S user for ever. I now made the mistake of going to an iphone 5 with update to iOS 6.0.1.
I cannot keep a wi-fi connection for the life of me. Nor can I keep even the weakest of signals to my cell carrier even if the phone sits still in one spot. While at the same time my ipad 3 with iOS 6.0.1 sitting right next to the phone has been up on the same carrier and wi-fi source for hours.
I am about to through the phone in the river and swear off Apple. This is frustrating after I use to talk about how good an iPhone was. Very Very disapointed.
