Ipad Air, org. lightning Adapter, Philips DS8550 --- No charging

Hello,
i have a philips ds8550 Soundsystem. It works well with all Apple Devices with 1. gen. Connector. Iphone 5 with lightning Adapter works also well (Charging and sound). But there is no charging with Ipad Air. Is this the sentence of death for a expensive 4 year old soundsystem?
thank you
joe

I don't think it's unheard of. Charging issues can be things with the adapter, or with the cable.

can the new ipad air 2 lightning connector operate at usb 3.0 speeds?

I'm not sure what you're asking. If you're asking us to tell you the IMEI for your particular iPad, that's impossible. None of us, your fellow users, will have any access to such information. If you're asking how to find the IMEI for your iPad, that would be labeled as such on the box, or found by these additional possibilities:

"Can I use charger 10w without any worreies(damage battery)?"
    Yes you can.
"Is it possible to change in apple store with warranty?"
If you mean "can I get my power adapter replaced under warranty, at the Apple store?", yes.

  • Ipad air USB power adapter is not charging

I had to replace my charger twice within the year of having my ipad air in order to get it charging. The first time it happened I went out and bought a new cable (but kept the same adapter the ipad air came with). About a month or so later my ipad was no longer charging. I went out tonight and bought a new wall charger all together (so using a different adapter) and its now charging. I am not sure if this was an issue with the original power adapter or if there is something more going on. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Do I need the cable that came with I home iw3 to connect my ipad air or can I use the ipad charging cable with an adapter to connect?

Just from personal curiosity, which web pages did you visit with your question that had you end up here in the 10.3 and earlier forum Circa 2003 obsoleteware?
It seems a common fault with this Apple Spoort site that so many posts are made to this forum that are irrelevant.
Can you post a few links from your browser History, just for research?
To answer your question, to upgrade from 10.5 to 10.6 you need to purchase the 10.6 retail DVD such as from here.

(For your home country use the Apple localised site.)
The DVD is reasonablly priced, and once installed you can upgrade your iTunes etc.

  • My recently purchased IPad Air is not accepting it's own charger. It says the device is 'not certified'. Is there anything that I can do? It is the charger supplied with the iPad when purchased!

I recently purchased an IPad Air and it has been working fine for around 5 months. All of a sudden it has stopped charging and when I plug the charger in it displays a message saying,'this device is not certified and may not work correctly' (or similar). To be clear the charger is the same one that was supplied at time of buying the product and has worked fine up until now. I am loathed to buy another one as I have taken it back to where I got it from and tried a new cable and this did not work. Can anyone offer any advise? Thanks.

Ultimately if those things do not get it to work... the circuit board may be toast.
I've been hearing lately that people are having the same issue with their iPhones, a friend's experience with apple tech support in the store resulted in that explanation, and he was told to buy a new phone since it was over a year old.
    good luck!

  • IPad air HDMI lightning connector picture problems

hello, the picture and sound work but there is an annoying judder or small jumps in the picture. It's very noticeable and annoying. Tried two different HDMI cables to test.  The problem is not there when the films are viewed on the iPad itself.

Do you have another cable you can try?

  • I charged my new iPad air and not only didn't it charge, but it got very warm. I used the charger that it came with and it was in an air conditioned house. Has anyone else had this problem?

    overheated ipad

Not normal. Take it to an Apple Store for evaluation.

  • HT1665 lightening to 30-pin Adapter charges my Ipad Air VERY slowly; why is that?

I purchased an Apple, Lightning to 30-pin Adapter, to convert my current charger, to one that will charge my Ipad Air.  When I try to charge my Ipad Air, using this Adapter, it does charge, but at a VERY slow pace!  Is that normal, or is something wrong with it?

    How slow is "VERY slow?"

  • IPad Air Not Charging

Hi, I just purchased a new iPad Air and I've noticed something odd happening involving the charging process. I have the 12W USB Power Adapter and lightning cable that came with it, a 10W USB Power Adapter from my old iPad 3, and 2 aftermarket lightning cables (from Amazon, not likely Apple certified).
    iPad Air iOS 7.1.1:
    12W+Apple cable-OK!
    10W+Apple cable-OK!
    12W+after market cable-"Not Charging"
    10W+after market cable-"Not Charging"
(I must clarify-initially it shows charging, but if I let the iPad sleep then wake it up, that's when it says "Not Charging")
..now here is where it gets odd.. I also have an iPhone 5S on iOS 7.1.2..
    iPhone 5S iOS 7.1.2
    12W+Apple cable-OK!
    10W+Apple cable-OK!
    12W+after market cable-OK!
    10W+after market cable-OK!
(no issues with the same aftermarket lightning cables tested with the iPad Air)
I know Apple has had a warning/pop-up message re: unsupported accessory, cable might not work properly, and up until now I thought that message was software/iOS based.. but now I'm experiencing a flat out lack of compatibility (not even a warning/pop-up message) and it appears to be hardware based. Both my iPad Air and iPhone are running iOS 7.1.x, yet the iPad Air refuses to charge using an aftermarket lightning cable where the iPhone 5S charges without incidence!?
Can anyone shed some light on this situation I'm describing?
    Thanks!!

@Demo @Skydiver119, Thank you for your responses.. Since reading them, I started searching for '12W lightning cable'.. it's not really turning up the results I was hoping for.. I can search for 'iPad Air and lightning cable'.. but of course majority of product pages don't post specs like rated wattage, and even some claim compatibility with the iPad Air, but then you read user reviews and they state the cable does not work with the iPad Air..
I am looking for a 10'-12' cable.. I have an unopened Sharper Image 10' cable at home that has 'MFi Certified' on the box.. I will try that and see if it works with the iPad Air.. if it does, I guess I'll start looking for 'MFi Certified' 10'-12' cables.. I know monoprice has one for ~$13.
    Thanks!

  • Can the USB cord and charging plug be used interchangeably between iPad Air and Pad mini?

I have a new iPad air and a new iPad mini. Both seem to have the same white USB cable, but the charging plug adapters are different sizes. Can they be used interchangeably with each other? In other words, can I use the Air adapter to charge the Mini without a problem and vice versa?

The charger that comes with the iPad Air is 12 watts while the one that comes with the standard mini is 5 watts. As Kappy mentioned, the higher wattage charger (12 watt) can be used with both. If you try to use the 5 watt charger with the iPad Air, you'll likely get a Not Charging message. It may still charge but it will be very slow and it's not really recommended.
The cables themselves are identical, no issue there.

  • Does anyone know of a suitable dock for the new iPad Air?

After purchasing a new iPad Air on Friday, I searched for a charging/syncing dock from Apple.  There are none!  Then, I searched the Internet for 3 days, and the choices are few.
Does anyone know of a good and sturdy dock for the new iPad Air?  I have very little desk space and always buy an Apple dock for my iPhones and iPads.
Is it possible that the dock for the iPad 4 could be used for the new iPad Air?  Currently, I have an iPad Third Generation and its own dock, which is 30 pins.  The available 8 pin adapter is not sturdy enough to put an iPad Air on.
For my iPhone 5, I have a Twelve South High Rise dock (because of the case), but it won't do for an iPad.
    Any ideas?

This isn't going to be super helpful because I don't know of any by name, but have you looked through App Store? I am almost positive you will come across at least one in there. This assumes you are running software version 2.0.

  • IPad Air charging VERY slowly, sometimes "not charging" entirely.

I'm using the charger that came with the new iPad Air in a wall outlet, but it charges incredibly slowly. We're talking like 10% charge in about an hour's time. Sometimes, even with the same set up, it says "not charging" all together. I think it charges even slower when doing it through my MacBook Air. Is anyone else having this issue with their new iPad Air charging slowly?

Same issue here. At least 4 hours on the charger and only 50%. Pretty **** annoying really. I love the new Apple stuff, but every time I upgrade to a new phone, laptop or iPad I end up having to take it into the Genius bar and get it replaced. Is it too difficult to conduct more thorough testing or at least get something right.
Going to tough it out for another week before I make the long journey to the Apple store to wait in a line.
It seems the online support doesn't accept my serial number as it is 'yet to be a supported device'....well done Apple, outdoing yourselves as always

  • At what percentage should I charge iPad Air

At what percentage should I start charging my iPad Air?

Anytime that is convenient, the charging system will not overcharge, but constant full depleteion is not reccomended. I plug mine in every night when I head to bed and have for a few years now.
