Ipad air slow download

My ipad air started downloading very slow yesterday. I can't watch you tube due to slow download and can't download new software update. I am on wifi only and other devices are working fine on wifi. I have restarted ipad and wifi to no avail. Any suggestions?

Close all apps on the iPad and then reset the device. See if that helps at all.
To close an app, drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • IPad Air slow downloads since iOS 7.1 update

Since updating to iOS7.1 my iPad Air downloads are extremely slow to non existent. Beyond frustrated..

    Try this:
Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies and Data
quit Safari :  double click Home button, you will see a bunch of preview windows for all the apps that are open, with the app icon beneath each preview window.  Scroll left / right to find the preview window for Safari, after all left-right motion is stopped swipe upward from the Safari preview window (NOT the icon) off the top of the screen
touch Home window or click Home button to exit Preview Mode
reset your iPad:  hold both the power button and the Home button down for 10+ seconds until the Apple logo appears.  let go promptly when the logo does appear.  wait 30 seconds more for you iPad to restart.  no data will be lost by resetting

  • IPad Air slow WiFi connection

I'm having WiFi connection speed problem with new iPad Air and Airport-extreme 802.11ac.
I can get over 30Mbps download speed with old iPad2 but with new iPad Air, I get only 7 or 8Mbps.
I saw https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5516013 (Slow WiFi on the new iPad Air). He solve the problem by changing the Channel Bandwidth settings on the router but not such setting on airport-extreme 802.11ac.

I have had the same issue but it has not been fixed by renaming the 5Ghz network. We have two iPad Air connected to HH5.  I have manged to reproduce the issue described where wifi crashes if streaming and downloading. I can also reproduce on both iPads. Other devices including an iPad2 work fine.
I have even turned off the 2.4GHz and was able to reproduce the issue.
It would be good if others could also repeat the following test.
    1. Connect Ipad Air to 5GHz wifi band
    2. Stream from bbc iplayer - live channel
    3. Download a large app such as Pages / Numbers / Garageband.
Pretty much everytime the wifi crashes. Without downloading apps I can stream without error. Also no issue seen on the 2.4Ghz band.
Apple have asked me to visit Apple store to try and reproduce on their network so hopefully this will prove if it is the iPad or HH5 at fault.

  • How do I stop apps from my iPad Air being downloaded to the iPhone4?

If I download a game or app to my iPad Air in iOS8, why is it downloaded to my iPhone4 automatically when I sync through iTunes12 on my iMac. Have I somehow turned this auto match download? How do I stop this from happening? I only want what I download to the iPad Air, unless I manually decide to install it on the iPhone4 through iTunes12.
    jr

With the settings changed on the iPhone4, why the iPad Air? I downloaded the apps to it. Then chose to delete them, which works. I just have to remember to delete them from iTunes12 eventually.

  • IPAD AIR SLOW TO OPEN APPS

My iPad Air is slow and often hangs. It takes time for apps to open. I have spare memory of 22 GB. Let me know what to do?

    (A) Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.
    (B) Try reset all settings
    Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
Note: Data will not be affected but settings for Wi-Fi, FaceTime, Message, Home Sharing will be reset

  • IPad Air Slow

Recently bought a brand new iPad air, however I've found that the graphics run very slow and clunky as compared to even my iPhone 5 running on iOS 7. I've had to turn on "Increase Contrast" and "Reduce Motion" for the device to actually run well. Just wondering why a brand new device with a proclaimed faster processor than the iPhone 5 cannot run as good as the iPhone 5?
    Thanks.

But could they be incorperating slow motion video and burst mode into the next software update?
Could it be possible for apple's software and hardware engineers to do that? If they could do that it would match a majority of other tablets on the market in terms of photo shooting modes/ features.

  • IPad Air - slow to charge

    Hi
We are having issues with our iPad air being very slow to charge. We use the charger that came with it but it is very slow, even slower than our original iPad.  Is this an issue others are experiencing?

Are you sure it's the 12W Ipad charger and not a 5W iPhone charger?
Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.htmlhttp://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • IPad Air auto downloads music that plays through wifi

    Hey Gang,
So, first off, I do NOT have auto-downloads on for music, ONLY for updates. I had a couple of playlists downloaded of music, but the iPad kept telling me I was running out of space when I didn't add anything, but it seemed to notify me when I was listening via iCloud.  I tried managing my space through iTunes, but when I'd deselect ANY music my iPad was saying I had 3.4 GBs of music.  When I checked Settings/General/About it kept saying I had 407 songs taking up space.  In iTunes it would show a bunch of songs as if they were just connected through the cloud (which was disabled, as was homeshare), and as you know that should' take up any memory.
I even went through and deleted All Music from the About section and when I restarted, at first it said No Data, but then all of a sudden 407 songs would be there (unfortunately some regrettable purchases too!).  I tried again and I kept watching the tracks go up when I listened to a song through iCloud (other attempts the 407 songs just appeared at once). So I turn my WiFi off; only three songs on the iPad, the ones I just played.  So for whatever reason the iPad was downloading a bunch of songs as I played them (that came back as soon as I turned wifi back on).
I have a feeling when I turn iMatch back on that every song I listen to (via the cloud, supposedly) will start to take up storage space on my iPad, which is total crap.  All my software is up to date, my 27" 3.4GHz i7 iMac is only two years old. I have a feeling it's something to do with Apple not liking all the cds I copied to iTunes and then saved to iCloud (they tend to only want you to buy music through iTunes).
Anyway, I seem to be the only person with this problem on the interwebs.  Let me know if you have any suggestions (reformatted a bunch too).
P.S. I have the same problem on my iPhone 4S, but figured it was just 'cause it's older.  iPad air is totally new!  Probably a IOS7 issue...

The more I think about this, isn't a black screen with the white apple logo the INSTALLATION screen? Not the downloading screen (which is white with a BLACK apple logo...)
Can anyone clear that up?  Thank you!
Ok: the MORE I think about this, that was the installation screen NOT the 7.1.2 download screen because now I remember it asking me to INSTALL it, .... definitely installation screen.
So new question: even though it appeared to not finish installing before I rebooted it, do you think all is fine now?  Thanks!

  • New iPad Air - trouble downloading a complimentary app

New iPad Air; had trouble downloading certain apps ( iWorks, iMovie, etc.); Apple support advised to set the date one year ahead and to reset the network; advice worked; but still can not download the free Real Racing that came with purchase. Am at a loss for options. Thanks.

will check with them if I can just transfer to them or if they have it set up to use their specific softwear

  • IPad air slow performance

Hello there I bought a new iPad air 32 4g model and I have been noticing slow performance when opening a pictures of an app in the AppStore
knowing that I didn't face this problem an iPad 2  also I have restore the iPad air and still the problem is there

I had a 3rd Generation iPad on iOS 7.0.4. It's what I sold to buy the Air. It was terrible. I mean if the criteria you are using is efficiency and speed in moving around and using the OS, then it was terrible.
Safari was sluggish in scrolling with basic pages, closing apps, opening new ones, the Music app would take 4 to 5 seconds to open with a small library of around 12 to 15 artists. Tapping on items would result in a delay leading you to thinking you missed it and hitting it again.
I think the criteria you are using is "Did it work", then yes. Did it work well? Certainly not. It was a bit like Windows on an Intel Celeron CPU. it worked but drove most of us mad with how poor it performed.

After upgrading my iPad air from iOS 7 to iOS 8.1.2 a couple of days ago, the iPad has become slow, eg. you tube clips do not have syncronized sound and pictures.

  • I have just purchased an iPad Air and downloaded a movie in iTunes. I cannot access the iTunes movie from my MacBook Air?

Why can I not access purchased movies in iTunes from my MacBook Air if I purchased thru my iPad Air?

If you rented the movie, it would not be transferable.
If you purchased it through iTunes, it should be transferable.  Check the sync setting in the Movies tab in iTunes while you have your iPad connected.
