IPad Air - swipe to read mail from lock screen doesn't work

Bought an iPad Air and have a small problem. When I try to swipe to read mail from lock screen, it won't go directly to the mail app itself. Can anyone help or tell me what the problem is??

I've got a problem with my iPhone 6 64Gb (Same problem before with my iPhone 5, so that's strange and i think the problem is since the new iOS 8.x)
On the lock screen, if i try to open the camera, calculator, lamp, from Control Center, i've got a black screen or my wallpaper...
So i must to open the iPhone and start the camera...
If i restart the device, it's working but i don't want to do that every day !
Does anybody has the same problem or not ? Do you have a solution please ?

I haven't got the same problem but I think to solve your problem is that you have to enable Assistive Touch and then try it (If that does't work, you might have to take it to the apple shop)
To enable assistive touch, follow the steps below,
•Go to settings
•Go to General
•Go to Accessibility
•Scroll to the very bottom and find "AssistiveTouch"
•Click it
•Turn it on
Hopefully that works but if it does't like I said above, you might need to go to your local apple store and get them to try and fix it.

IPad Air crashes intermittently reading mail

My iPad Air 128 crashes intermittently with several different accounts.
I will tap on a message, read it, then tap the next message, read it, then tap the next and it crashes out of mail.
It does not always crash on the 3rd message, as it could crash on any message.
and it could crash with my iCloud account, or aol, or comcast, or gmail, or a university imap, or exchange account. I see no pattern.
It seems to crash sooner if I read the messages faster, but going slower does not guarantee no crashes.
I Have already quit all other apps, reset the iPad, backed up and restored the iPad, added back accounts one at a time, etc., and all other gyrations of things to do.
IS is there a solution to this? My iPad 2 never had this problem.

I guess I never noticed that the swipe to open doesn't stay on very long. But, I've not found this to be an issue as I usally swipe the moment I have the option to swipe. It's been so long since I had a 2nd generation iPad that I honestly can't remember if it stayed on longer. It's still not a problem for me. There is no setting which will let you keep the swipe to open on longer, so it would reasonable for Apple to say there is nothing wrong with your iPad

Deleting mails from iPhone & iPad2 doesn´t work! - Any help?

I´ve got a problem both with my iPhoe & iPad2: Quite often some deleted mails refuse to disappear from the devices´ memory but bounce back visible within few seconds. Deleting seems to remove them from the mail server because of those mails disappear from the screen of my PC (IMAP settings of the e-mail account). The same happens often when I delete some mails via my PC from the server but they still remain visible in iPhone & iPad resisting deleting.
Has anyone else met similar behaviour and found cure for it? I´ve called to the e-mail provider and they know the problem but point to Apple. Quite obvious because of the server reacts on deleting and the mails disappear from there. For some reason the delete message doesn´t reach iPhone & iPad and the mails remain sitting in the devices. Apple also knows the problem, called them few times, but nothing has happened to fix the problem - "under investigation".
The only cure that has been "working" to permanently delete those boomerang mails is to remove and reinstall the e-mail account. Quite boring to do that sometimes few times a day.

Ofcourse, that´s been done properly and also checked both by the e-mail service provider´s and Apple´s tech support personnel. They just say: "Known problem, sorry!" I expressed this question here to check whether some of the world wide heavy users would be cleverer than those corporate gurus.

HT5957 Controlling music apps in lock screen doesn't work in ios7.02?

After applying the second update to ios7, none if my music apps function in the lock screen. No stopping music from any app including the Apple music app in the lock screen. This means that Bluetooth controllers such as car stereo systems can't control next track, pause or stop on any music app being accessed since the screen is generally locked while driving. This is dangerous because the only way to control these apps - while driving - is to unlock the phone. Apparently my phone is now more secure, but I guess that means it securely doesn't work in lock screen.

Try A and B
(A) Restart iPad
1. Hold down the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
2. Drag the slider to turn off iPad.
3. Turn iPad back on, hold down the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears
(B) Reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.

when you press home button twice on a locked phone a music player comes up but mine only lets me play my music doesn't let me skip songs or pause. whats wrong with it? iphone 4

iCloud space is for backup only.
You need more local storage; free up space on iPad:
Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Delete what is not needed to free up space on iPad.

you are using I tunes as the middle man for this back up, right?
When you plug in the pad to i tunes, give it a unique name, like my pad. I tune may be thinking it is talking to your phone. It will keep track of what you what on each device. Then plug your phone back in, and make sure your photos are uploaded to the computer - in i photo if you are using a mac, or in whatever photo program you are using on a windows device. You also want to make sure you have uploaded to the computer all of your music.
Once you get all that stuff there, plug the pad back in, and go through each of the tabs - selecting the music, photos etal that you want on the pad, then resync.

IBooks missing after iPad Air purchased and downloaded backup from Cloud

I just purchased the iPad air, and installed my programs from an iCloud backup. However the iBooks icon disappeared, and I cannot find it with a search on the iPad Air. When I checked the app store, the App Store shows that it is installed on my device and should be able to be opened. However I cannot open it when I try to Click the 'open' link. Ideas? I would like to uninstall iBooks and reinstall it, however I can't find the app to be able to do so.

Is the iBooks app on the iPad? If so, have you tried 1) uninstalling the iBooks app then reboot the iPad, then reinstall the iBooks app and try and download books one by one?
Also check the settings for iBooks in settings? Is your wifi behaving normally? Just thinking out loud, hopefully an expert will jump in...

When you restore from back up, the process will restore the OS and some initial data, it will then restart and allow you to use your device while the remaining data is downloaded and restored in the background. have you allowed enough time for this to complete.

Ipad 2 not auto receiving mail from IMAP account

Hi, I have an iPad 1 & 2 and an iPhone 3Gs.
I have may email accounts with different servers, Apple, Yahoo, Google & 1&1.
All auto receive mail via push, except for the 1&1 acc on the iPad2.
Checked & double checked settings are same as on iPhone & iPad 1 which both receive mail from that account without issues.
The only way I can get to see new mail from the 1&1 acc on it is to open the mail app and sit back for it to come in!
What could I possibly be doing wrong? Is anyone else having the same issue?

I am. I have a G5 and an iPad. I can get my mail from the G5, or by logging onto the server via Internet, but my mail app tells me it can't connect to the server. I've tried all the fixes on the other, similar threads... Set both fetch to manual, hard restart, reconfigure, etc. I can get it to work once after hard reboot.

Restore the backup of the old iPad to the new one. That should transfer camera roll photos. If it didn't and you still have the old iPad, back it up to your computer using iTunes and restore that backup to the new iPad.

Reading mails from Hmail Server

I am using an java mail api to read mails from a hmail server.I was successfull in reading mails and analysing it further but the problem that i face is my program could read only the recent mails ,all the remaining unread mails were not accessible from the java code.......i am attaching my code...

A lot of POP3 implementations (both client and server side) will automatically delete retrieved messages. I don't know exactly what JavaMail does in that regard, nor of hMailServer, but I do know some mailservers out in the wild will ALWAYS delete mails retrieved with POP3.

Can someone please tell me what is the pop server required for the Zimbra mail client.
