IPad air syncing with iTunes

Hi
This is my first time so please be gentle
I attached iPad to Windows 7 (Professional; 32-bit) computer in order to synchronise latest burnt CDs from iTunes to iPad: iTunes recognises and says it is syncing to iPad but when the Music app is opened, the newest tunes/CDs do not appear.  'Settings' confirms synchronisation has taken place with PC.
The cable appears sound as it works and charges on the mains adaptor (although iPad is showing 'Not Charging' when plugged into computer, despite green charging symbol showing up immediately connected) but I do not have any other cable to make a positive check.
I have uninstalled all Apple components as advised on Apple.com and reinstalled.  FYI, my iPod (nano, 6th generation) syncs without any problems (other than enough storage space).   I have latest software on ALL devices.
Getting REALLY frustrated now and would appreciate any help.  I have read numerous of the discussions on this site but none seem to match my issue.  I am a new Apple user and am much more au fait with MS, Windows etc (sorry!) so although computer literate, I am not fully conversant with Apple lingo or operations.
Here's hoping someone can help.

Since these same songs will sync to your other Apple devices, that would rule out the songs being in the wrong format, or any other issues with the way that they were ripped.
Your iPad charges from the power socket normally and connects to iTunes OK, so that rules out the cable. The USB ports on some computers do not supply enough power to efficiently charge the iPad and while the iPad may in fact be charging, you will see the "not charging" message.
Check is in the Summary. Pane of iTunes when the iPad is connected to see if you have Manually Manage Songs and Videos selected. If you have it selected, unselect it and sync again.

  • Ipad not Syncing with iTunes

I am having increasing problems with getting my iPad to Sync with Itunes on my 17" MacBook Pro.  Both Mac OS and iTunes up to date with latest software as is the iPad.  The trouble started a couple of months ago with some apps failing to sync.  I deleted them from the iPad and then it was ok for a while, however this has repeated itself with an increasing frequency.
Today, whenever I connect my iPad to Itunes it will not sync.  It starts with the message "Waiting to Sync" then after a while briefly displays Cancelling Sync and then stops.  If I try and move from the Summary tab in iTunes to the Apps tab I get the spinning ball of death and iTunes hangs until I either Force Quit or unplug the iPad.
Interestingly there is no problem when I connect my wifes iPad to my Macbook Pro.  However I have the same problem when I try to connect to iTunes on her MacAir.
I have reset my iPad's settings.  I have restarted my Mac and iPad numerous times.  I have deleted all the iPad backup files on iTunes and done just about everything I can find with respect to things even remotely similar from the web or discussion boards.  Logically I have to assume it is something on my iPad however everything else is working fine - or so it seems.
Anybody else out there with this or a similar problem or any suggestions???
    Thanks in advance.

I want to start off by saying the latest update is the worst piece of software I have ever tried downloading onto my computer. After three unsuccesful updates directly from Itunes I downloaded it to file and then installed three times before it succesfully installed. At this point Itunes would freeze when trying to recognize my Ipad, Ive reinstalled twice more including individual installs of Quicktime and Itunes and NOTHING is making this worthless software work. I am not impressed at all Apple, as a matter of fact I'm tempted to NEVER buy another Apple product again because of how poor this latest update is. but whatever, some help would be nice.

  • HT4859 Do I need to turn backup on to allow iCloud to store data?  Can I turn it off again so iPad will sync with iTunes?

Do I need to turn on iCloud Backup to,store data?  Can I turn it off again so it is not on automatic and will resume syncing with iTunes?

You don't have to turn on iCloud backup to sync data with iCloud, but you do if you want to back up to iCloud.  (You sync data with iCloud by going to Settings>iCloud and turning the data you want to sync with your iCloud account to On, and choosing Merge to upload your data.)
Also, backing up to iCloud does not prevent you from sycing with iTunes.  All it does is cause your iPad to be automatically backed up to iCloud instead of automatically backing up to your computer each time you sync.  And even if you are automatically backing up to iCloud, you can always manually back up to your computer using iTunes at any time by connecting your iPad to your computer, clicking on the name of your iPad in iTunes, going to the Summary tab of your iTunes sycn settings, and clicking on Back Up Now.
You can, of course change back to automatically backing up to your computer using iTunes at any time as well.

  • How do you prevent iPads from syncing with iTunes when managing a cart with Apple Configurator

I am managing carts of iPads with Configurator running on a MacBook. If I open iTunes when Configurator is not open, all 30 iPads will start Syncing with iTunes. Preferences>>Devices>>Prevent Devices from Automatically Syncing is set but yet any time iTunes is opened the iPads start syncing. This does not happen if Configurator is open.

I was able to finally stop ITunes from crashing after many days of searching n restarting my computer many times.
    a) First I went to this site ->http://forums.techarena.in/guides-tutorials/1119812.htm that showed me how to disable DPE. Please make sure that u have good virus...etc.. protection first before doing this. I have Avast Internet Security. RESTART UR COMPUTER..
    b) I then uninstall ITunes by following this site ->http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1923      RESTART UR COMPUTER..
    c) I then downloaded a beta version of ITunes. I happen to download beta 7 before the final of 10.5 version came out. Installed it. After installing I click on it n it said somewhere along the line of "this ITune ver. expired" I checked in my Programs n Features n notice that QuickTime was installed w that beta version.
    d) Go online n download the final version of ITunes ->http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ ...... After u finish dling install that. After that's done connect your IPod, IPhone...etc... n click on ITunes, it should sync all the way.
I was finally able to sync all thru the steps insteading of it crashing on me midway. Hopefully this will work for you. Good luck !

  • Apps on iPad wont sync with iTunes

Since a few weeks apps I bought on my iPad will no longer be copied to my PC when I connect with iTunes.
When I synchronise iTunes says it copying the apps to my PC (the names appear I in the informationwindow), but they don't appear in the Library/Apps afterwards, nor in the Apps-tab under iPad.  Neither do I get any errors-messages
    I tried:
    1. Selecting "Transfer purchases ..." from the menu
    2. Clicked the button "Synchronise" in the "Apps"-tab
    3. In the apps-store of iTunes rebought a (free) app that I previously bought on my iPad and wouldn't appear in iTunes
    4. Removed the "iTunes" folder in "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Apple Computer" and resynchronised
    5. In "Preferences" reset the "Synchronisation history"
Anybody any idea what is going wrong? Anything else I can try?

It should transfer the content when you sync. As long as you are signed into the correct iTunes/Apple ID on the computer as you are signed into on the iPad, the purchases should transfer.
Try to transfer the purchases manually.

  • Ipad air sync to iTunes on MacBook Pro

I have an ipad air and every time I try to sync to my mac the sync gets to the final stage and freezes saying cancelling. The ipad appears to have finished the sync other than the photos which still say syncing and not all photos are on the ipad. I've tried the iCloud backup and disconnecting find my ipad. Any ideas?

Rebooti the MacBook Pro and reset the iPad by Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
If that doesn't help and you are sure you have enough storage room on your iPad for the photos start searching for a corrupted photo.
Deselect all photos then do another sync. If that completes normally start syncing one album back at a time until you find the album with the bad photo.

  • Mini ipad not sync with itunes

I have windows 7 64 bit, itunes 11.2 and ios 7.1.1.  On May 21, 2014, I updated both my ipad 2 and mini ipad and it went into recovery mode.  I uninstalled all the programs required by apple (itunes, apple software update, apple mobile device support, bonjour, and apple application support ) in order by your support article HT1923.  I then reinstalled itunes and it restored my ipad and mini ipad.
I bought a program called coptic dictionary on May 22, 2014 on my mini ipad.  I wanted to sync it to my laptop without wifi using itunes.  But the application was not showing on my laptop.  I was able before the recovery problem occured sync my mini ipad and ipad 2 with itunes without wifi.  Now I have to use wifi to sync.    Why is that?
Is there a way to sync apps that are bought on the ipad to itunes without wifi.  If so how?  Thanks

    Hi 7Pep4,
Take a look at the article below it will walk you through syncing to iTunes with the USB adapter cable.
iOS: Syncing your data with iTunes
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1386
    Sync using USB
    Open iTunes.
Connect the iOS device to your computer using the included USB cable.
Click the Device button in the upper-right corner. (If viewing the iTunes Store, click the Library button first.) If you don't see your device, you may need to hide the sidebar. Choose View > Hide Sidebar.
Some tabs may not appear if you don't have the corresponding content in your library. For example, if you don't have any podcasts in your library, the Podcast tab won't appear.
Click Apply, in the lower-right corner of the screen, to sync.

  • Phantom movies keep re-appearing on iPad when syncing with iTunes.

Ok, so I purchased a few movies and TV shows on my iPad, downloaded them, watched them, loaded them to my computer for storage, and deleted them from my iPad- no problem. However, now whenever I plug my iPad into iTunes, that same content shows up in "Phantom" form (greyed out writing etc). They don't take up room on the iPad, just show up when you click on the "Movies" tab under the iPad in the "Devices" column. I have my iPad set to manually manage my music and movies. I can plug my iPad in, snyc it, right-click and delete the "phantom" content, hit sync, and BOOM! there they are again. They just keep showing up! It's really more anoying than anything, but I'd love to know how to get rid of them for good!
    Thanks for any insight!

Hey, I was having this problem, too. The solution I've found is to go ahead and plug your iPad (this works with iPhones and iPod touches, too, I think) into your computer and check "Manually Manage Music and Videos." Then you want to click the "On this iPad" tab and scroll to the albums that are missing album artwork. Delete these manually and sync. Then you can uncheck "Manually Manage Music and Videos," check to sync music in the "Music" tab, and apply. After the sync your newest albums that you've downloaded directly on your iPad should be back in your library in the Music app with their album artwork displaying correctly.
Not sure what causes this, but it seems to almost always happen to me when I use iTunes on my iPad or iPhone to buy things. Sometimes it also happens to items I've purchased from iTunes on my computer as well and that have automatically downloaded to my iOS devices.
    Hope this helps.

  • IPhone 4 and iPad wont sync with iTunes

I bought a mac mini a few months ago to replace my powerbook (don't need it anymore). All of the files transfered fine but iTunes will not allow me to sync my iPhone 4 or iPad. When I try to transfer files or sync in anyway, iTunes prompts me with "This computer is no longer authorized...." etc, so, I click on Authorize, enter my credentials and it says "This computer is already authorized". I click OK and it again says "This computer is no longer authorized....". This puts me in a never ending cycle of trying to authorize the computer and I can't seem to bypass it.
I put this off for quite a while as it wasn't really impacting anything, but now it is and I need to get this resolved. Any hints, tips, fixes etc would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

Did you ever get a fix to this?  The same thing just happened to me too....

  • Ipad wont sync with itunes 10.3.1

    Hi,
I recently updated iTunes to 10.3.1. I then went to sync my iPad2 and it kept failing when syncing some audio books. Some error about disc not available I think.
This then made all the videos and music disappear from the iPad2 even though iTunes could still "see" it and the space was still taken.  After searching for answers I kept trying to sync but the content never reappeared back on the iPad2.
I figured I would reset it so I did. iTunes then tried to restore it and that seemed ok, the Apps recopied but the content failed!  To get a suceessful sync I turned off syncing of anything but Apps. This seemed to go ok but when it finished it told me that there had been 25 errors and pretty much all the Apps had failed to copy!
I can redownload them all over WiFi but now I'm worried that I'll not be able to copy ANY content to my iPad.  I also will not sync my iPhone until it's the problems are resolved with th iPad.
    Any help greatly appreciated.
Also some recently added photos were corrupted when synced to the iPad2...

All my content is on a mapped network drive (RAID-ed).
Up until now it's been fine.  I've done a few quick tests to see if there's a problem and it all seems ok.
The message I get seems to imply it's the iPad2 that can't be found rather than the content...
Could it have picked up a memory issue...? Are there diagnostics to run on the device (iPad2) itself

  • Books purchased on ipad not syncing with itunes

I have a purchased around 20 or so books on my ipad. I bouth them over time. The books that I purchased earlier in the year synced as normal and show up in tunes. The last 10 or so books will not show up in itunes?

Do they copy over if you do File > Transfer Purchases (File > Devices > Transfer Purchases on iTunes 11) ? If they are still in the store thne you should also be able to re-download them on your computer via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page.
