IPad Air too much time to open a link from Mail

SInce the last update to iOS 8.02 my iPad Air takes too much time to open a web link from the Mail App, Safari open itself with a long delay.
furthermore The attachments into email are often not readable, have to reload the message to be able to open the attachment.
LAst but not least, I have too many messages not downloaded from the iMap server and I can read just the title of it.

There's a large thread around about this Dolphin problem.
Disabling Nepomuk in System Settings has proved to be the
cure in many cases.

i started SGEN, but it is giving time_out errors. please help me on this issue.

    SAP : ECC 6.0  SR2
    RAM size : 8 GB

    Hi,
    >i started SGEN, but it is giving time_out errors. please help me on this issue.
You are supposed to run SGEN as a batch job and so, it should be possible  to get time out errors.
I've seen Full SGEN lasting from 3 hours on high end systems up to 8 full days on PC hardware...

itunes takes too much time to open and don´t recogneize my iphone
I´ve alredy unistall and re install and didn´t work

5-10 minutes is normal for me when opening iTunes. But then my library is stored on network drive which slows everything down.
There has been many posts about problems with RAID and iTunes. Don't know if any of those relate.

You may need to reset your network settings, making sure the network you're accessing is stable: tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
If your iPhone still can't connect to App Store, tap Settings > iTunes & App Store > tap the Apple ID and sign out > later, sign in with your Apple ID.

  • Safari is not opening any links from Mail.

Safari is not opening any links from .Mail.  I am having to copy and paste every one into a browser.  I've tried 'right-clicking' and then open with Safari but that isn't working either.  Any suggestions?

Hi--thanks for responding.  My default browser was set at Safari 6.0.

  • Firefox won't open url links from mail

I don't know if this question has been asked yet, but I am having problems opening links from mail. I am using Firefox 3.5.3 and Snow Leopard. Every time I click on a link in my mail firefox opens to the homepage. Firefox will only link to the proper webpage if it is already opened. Does anyone know if there is a way to link directly to the webpage when firefox is not opened?
    Thanks

Same thing here. Although mine just doesn't do anything. Firefox is open, but no new tab is created at all. Clicking a link in Mail does seem to activate Firefox's menu, though.
I just switched to using Firefox a few days ago, because my Safari kept crashing. Since my work is entirely on the web, I had to switch to keep functioning (but that's another issue).

  • Is resetting iPad Air too many times bad?

Anyways, I've had many problems with my iPad Air and I have done many resets (using iTunes and through the settings app) and have always selected "Set up as new iPad". By the way I'm not talking about resetting with the sleep/home buttons and waiting for 10 seconds. So my ultimate questions is: Is it bad to reset my iPad too often?
    Thanks for all your answers!

Reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.
Or reseting the configuration options via Settings App. But these really not the same thing and used for different troubleshooting.
Restoring is setting the device up as new via itunes as sberman's link explains.

  • Too much time to open a huge library

    Hi,
I have a huge 60Gig library set on an external SATA hard disk (on a DROBO machine. This is a USB2 connection). All my photos (almost 30 000) are externally referenced.
Aperture works fine, i've removed all the previews to try to reduce the library size (but not that much, on final).
Some things I dislike and don't see how to improve them:
    1. Aperture takes almost 2 minutes to open. Why so?
    2. When opening Aperture, i see it wants to regenerate all the previews! In the preferences, nothing is checked to ask Aperture to do this. The "Automatically generating previews when importing" is unchecked.
    3. I don't see a way to check if every thing is referenced, but to open each project.
    4. I don't see a way to create a new Aperture library.
    5. Would be fun to be able to split libraries, or merge them.
    Any comments and ideas?
    Thanks!

First off, which version of Aperture are you using?
    2. You probably need to turn it off for the existing Projects as well. Select a project, then click on the cogwheel button at the top of the Projects pane and make sure that 'Maintain Previews' is unchecked.
    3. Do a search of your Library. One of the extra searches you can access via the search HUD is the file status, including managed/referenced and online/offline.
    4. Open up preferences and point it towards a folder that doesn't have an Aperture Library in it. Not the most intuitive.
    5. There's not much to be gained by splitting Libraries, but the way to do it is to export Projects from one Library and import them into the other Library.

  • Vista Business: Itunes takes too much time to open

Hey. Okay, this is going to sound strange, but, heres what is going on. Usually when I open itunes, it opens and runs and there is no problem. Occasionally though, it takes it too long to open. By too long, I mean I open it, the process is running in task manager, but for the actual itunes program to open takes around 5-10 minutes. I know it isn't the speed of my computer, I just built a new one (e6600 conroe, 640 gb sata raid, 550 w power supply, 2 gb ram, windows vista business...its fast enough to run itunes), and I know it isn't conflicting with any other program (if I'm running itunes, I'm not usually running anything else). I updated, I've followed all of the usual troubleshooting steps, and I've searched here for a solution, but nobody else seems to be having this problem. I get no error message, and everytime it does eventually open, but honestly I don't like itunes enough to want to wait 10 minutes to use it. Anyone know how I can get this to start working the way its supposed to work?

5-10 minutes is normal for me when opening iTunes. But then my library is stored on network drive which slows everything down.

  • Opening a link from Mail freezes Safari

I have emails the include hyperlinks sent to me, and when i click on them Safari opens and begins to load the page, but once I try scrolling down or going to anything else, Safari freezes and displays a spinning rainbow-colored circle. I then have to proceed to Force Quit Safari and re-start. I already tried re-setting Safari but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?

HI and welcome to Apple Discussions...
    Try deleting this file. com.apple.Safari.plist
/Users/YourName/Library/Preferences. Drag that file from the Preferences folder to the Trash, empty the Trash and restart your Mac.
If that doesn't help, post a crash log.
How to locate a crash log:
    1. Open Finder.
    2. Click "Go" in the menu, then select "Go to Folder".
    3. Copy and paste this path into the Finder dialog:
~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/
    4. Click the Go button.
    5. Finder opens the folder containing the crash log. Look for a the crash file with a date field that looks like the most recent.

  • Too much time to mount Data file in Time capsule then error 8085

its taking too much time to open the folder and some times it gives this error code -8085 .. any idea ?
    Regards

Use ethernet and see if you can delete the folders.. as long as you have them stored elsewhere.
The TC is not a NAS.. it is not designed as a file store.. even attempting to use it that way can lead to issues.
Read the info from our main guru.. Pondini. On why you don't do this. And ways around it.

    Please HELP ME...

Hi this is what the solution given by your link
A.1.6 Connection Timeouts Through a Stateful Firewall Affect System Performance
    Problem
To improve performance the mod_oc4j component in each Oracle HTTP Server process maintains open TCP connections to the AJP port within each OC4J instance it sends requests to.
In situations where a firewall exists between OHS and OC4J, packages sent via AJP are rejected if the connections can be idle for periods in excess of the inactivity timeout of stateful firewalls.
However, the AJP socket is not closed; as long as the socket remains open, the worker thread is tied to it and is never returned to the thread pool. OC4J will continue to create more threads, and will eventually exhaust system resources.
    Solution
The OHS TCP connection must be kept "alive" to avoid firewall timeout issues. This can be accomplished using a combination of OC4J configuration parameters and Apache runtime properties.
Set the following parameters in the httpd.conf or mod_oc4j.conf configuration files. Note that the value of Oc4jConnTimeout sets the length of inactivity, in seconds, before the session is considered inactive.
    Oc4jUserKeepalive on
    Oc4jConnTimeout 12000 (or a similar value)
Also set the following AJP property at OC4J startup to enable OC4J to close AJP sockets in the event that a connection between OHS and OC4J is dropped due to a firewall timeout:
    ajp.keepalive=true
    For example:
    java -Dajp.keepalive=true -jar oc4j.jar
Please tell me where or which file i should put the option
    java -Dajp.keepalive=true -jar oc4j.jar ??????/
