IPad Air Ver. 7.1 Photo Albums

I imported pictures to my iPad Air ( New ) Created a New Album & Imported Pic's to the New Album....
I called the New Album "TEST" ....if I highlight Albums, I also have ALBUMS ( 3 ) called
Imported Photos
Last Import &
All Imported
Are these really necessary, if NOT can they be DELETED ???
if I choose EDIT while in Albums I can ONLT DELETE the Album "TEST" ( an X in the corner of the Album box....
Some input would be Appreciated...
Also, what purpose does "Moments, Collections & Years serve ???
Thanks

Had to go back to factory settings, but that did the trick.
Probably wouldn't have been the problem it was, if it hadn't happened between WiFi connections.  But without the network being available, it just went around in circles.
Thank you, very much!

How can I synchronize my iPhoto events? my iTunes doesn't read them and with the app Images in the iPad I can only find Photos, Albums, Faces and Places, not Events.

I had a problem a couple of months ago when iPhotos suddenly rearranged the order of my Events (Why won't iPhoto let me arrange my photos?) .  I was told "Use albums not events - events are not a good way to organize - albums and folder are designed for organisation and are very flexible".
Haha!  I should have paid attention and read between the lines!  My iPhotos were highly organised groupings - not according to date but the way I wanted them - and it was so easy to do!  I see now that if I had them all in albums, as per the Apple Apologist suggestion, I wouldn't have this unholy mess I have been left with just to make iPhone & iCloud users happy.  I am now going through Photos and making Albums (of what used to be in my Events)  ... maybe I'll get this finished before they do another non user friendly update!

  • Why is the New iPad is super slow in photo album?

Hi, I am a previous owner of iPad 2 and am VERY HAPPY with it.
I was so excited to get the New iPad, but now very unhappy with it.
The advertisement of quad core graphics chip does not do any good.
The photo album took at least 3 times longer to display an image (in comparison to the iPad 2).
Viewing all photos in slideshow is out of the question because photo was not displayed in full resolution fast enough.
    Please HELP

Thank Jim, but it doesn't help.
I did all sorts of power off, soft reset, hard reset, and even restore to original default.  None that help.
Do you have iPad 2 to compare with?
Anyhow, these pictures were NOT taken by the iPad camera, they are from photo albums (taken by SLR) and synced to the library.  These have much higher resolution and possibly have bigger file sizes (eventhough iTunes compressed it down during sync).
The New iPad could NOT load the picture in full resolution fast enough (I measured about 3.5 seconds) whereas the iPad 2 was able to complete the same picture in about +1 sec.
I am very disappointed.  I will make an appointment with Apple and see what their answer is.

  • Ipad air video only found in album and not camera roll. How do I delete it?

I have an iPad Air (ios 8.3) and in my default photos app is a video I made for media class a few months ago. I did all recordings on my ipad and transferred them to my Macbook Pro for editing. When I edited the videos into one video I transferred it back to my ipad. I made an album for my video project too. Once I no longer needed the video I went to delete it. I first go to delete the album but it won't let me. The x to delete it doesn't pop up. It does for the other albums but nit this one. I then go ti my camera roll to delete the videos but its not there. I go to collects and I can see it but I can't delete it. The option doesn't pop up. I go to iMovie on my ipad and it can find my video but again it's not in my camera roll. I go to my Macbook Pro and go to itunes. I can't find it via laptop.
So 2 questions come to mind.
1- Why can I only see the video in 'collections' 'imovie (ipad)' and 'albums' but not in 'camera roll' 'itunes' and 'laptop'?
2- How do I delete it?

Videos and/or photos that you sync from your computer to the Photos app won't be in the camera roll album, and you can't delete them (or their albums) directly in the Photos app - only photos/videos that you take with the iPad, saved from emails/websites, or copied via the camera kit can't be deleted directly in Photos.
To delete it you need to reconnect your iPad to your computer's iTunes and change your photo sync selection on its Photos tab in iTunes and resync. If you want to delete all videos and photos that you synced from your computer then try selecting and syncing just an empty folder.

  • Ipad Air won't sync photos

I have a Mac Pro tower running Mavericks (10.9.1).  Latest iTunes (11.1.3) and iPhoto (9.5.1).  New iPad air running 7.0.4
When I plug my iPad into synch my photo library (around 6500 pictures and 37GB) - my entire computer freezes after about 5 photos are transferrred.  I have tried:
    rebuilding my photo library
    updating permissions
    deleting iPod cache
    power cycling
    unchecking include videos
Changing sync from all photos to manual.  The problem persists with just one small album selected.  I get the spinning wheel that locks up my computer somewhere between the 5th and 10th image transferred even if the album only has 20 images total.
I'm at a loss.  If I don't select any photos, the sync works fine.
My old ipad 2 and iphone 5S work fine.
    thx for any ideas

I had the same problem. But I was able to fix it with a little luck.
If you have a backup of your iPad that is functional and has value, hold on to it.
First, restore/wipe your iPad so it is empty execpt for the stock software.
Begin to restore your iPad from the backup.
As it is working, click on the "Manage My Own Music" selection on the iPad sync window. Will ask if you are sure, say yes.
Un-check and Re-Check the top box in the music section of the sync pages.
Click Sync at the bottom and let it work.

  • Can you copy a video on iPad 2 from Videos to Photo Album?

I need to add videos to a Keynote presentation I am making but the videos I need are saved on my iPad in the Videos App not the Camera Photo Album. And Keynote's insert media doesn't recognize the Video app as a source for media.
Is there a way to copy/move/export from Videos to Photo Album?

Can I use iMovie to save the video from my Videos Album to my Camera Roll?  That seems like it would be the easiest way, but I don't want to spend the $5 for an app that won't do what I want it to do.

  • IPad: how to delete a photo album

How do I delete a photo album from the iPad?
I read somewhere that you should tap Edit and then tap the album. But that does not work. I have three albums, iPad will only let me delete the last one I created.

Only photos taken with the iPad, copied onto it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly on the iPad - either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it in thumbnail view. Photos that were synced from your computer are deleted by moving/removing/de-selecting them from where they were synced from on your computer and then re-syncing

  • IPad 2: How to assort photo-albums

The Photo-albums are imported from my MacBook Pro (stored in iPhoto) via iTunes-sync.
The name of the albums begin always with the date, e.g.: "20130112 +text...."
I'd like to have a chronological order.
Any hint for a solution most welcome

  • Mac mini (2014) wont sync notes and ibooks with ipad air 2 and iphone, photos ok

MAc mini (2014) will not sync notes or ibooks with ipad air 2 and iphone 5s, photos are ok, any ideas please?

You have to use iCloud for the Notes. Books can be synced via iTunes.

  • When syncing large database of photos (107,000 photos) constituting nearly 35GB, itunes takes forever on "importing photos" even if i select only 1 folder of 10 images. Windows 7, IPAD Air both latest versions. photo library is on my local internal HD .

i tried selecting a folder with less than 50 photos as my source, importing photos phase still takes longer than what sounds normal for such a small number of photos, but the job is done nevertheless.
But what is worth noting, is that even if i run another pass of sync without touching the photos section (i.e. neither adding nor deleting any photo from the previous sync) it still takes the same amount of time on the "importing photos" phase.
when i select the actual photo library folder as my source (the one containing the 107,000 photos); at that point even selecting a subfolder in it that contains merely 10 photos generates the same dilemma.
i tried photoshop elements, spent like 4 hours building my library there, hoping that if i select it as the source in the photo tab in itunes, things would work out for the better, i was mistaken!
at this point am really out of options, and need some serious help.
    few extra diagnostic infos:
the above manifests even on other devices like my iphone5.
the computer used is not exactly top notch but works for my Autocad drawings, i figure it should suffice for itunes (Dell Pentium D 3.19Ghz, 4GB Ram, 3TB HD, running windows 7 (32bit) ultimate)
the above persists when i sync wirelessly (not a USB bug issue)
please any help is appreciated, if you need further details, kindly let me know

  • Delete photos from IPAD air

Just got an IPad air and want to see what Iphoto on the Ipad air was providing me
Transfer an album from IMAC to IPAD Air using ITunes (sync)
After I finished "playing" with Iphoto on the Ipad air:
From Itunes (IMAC), remove the album and sync it with the Ipad air
    Results:
It delete the album from the Ipad air BUT:
all photos (from the album) are still on the Ipad air and I can't find a way to delete them
How do I get rid of the photos?

If iPhoto cam efree with the iPad, it should now be tied to the AppleID you used, when you set up the iPad. You will need to use the same AppleID when you sign into the AppStore to download iPhoto again, and then it show as free.
    Reinstall the affected app
Remove the app from your device and reinstall it:
Tap and hold any app icon on the Home Screen until the icons start to wiggle and show a small "x" in the top-left corner of the app.
Tap the "x" in the corner of the app you want to delete.
Tap Delete to remove the app and all of its data from your device.
    Press the Home button.
    Go to the App Store.
Search for the app and download it again.
Note: If it's a paid app, make sure you're using the iTunes account you purchased the app with originally. If it isn't, you may be asked to purchase the app again. Learn more about downloading previously purchased items.

  • How do you transfer photos from laptop to ipad air?

How do you transfer photos from your laptop to ones ipad air?

You transfer photos during a sync with iTunes.
First organize your photos. If you're using a Mac use iPhoto to create photo albums. If you're using a PC organize your photos by creating a main photos folder. Inside of that folder creat folders and sort photos into topics or dates. Do not create any additional folders inside the first nested folder.
Then start iTunes on your computer. If you don't have iTunes on your computer download it form Apple it's free. If you already have iTunes make sure it is iTunes 11.1 or later. If it is an earlier version of iTunes update it.
Start iTunes on your computer and connect your iPad. Select your iPad in iTunes. Then select Photos from the row of tabs that are presented.
You can choose to sync photos from iPhoto or navigate to your main photo folder. Then select to sync all photos or select just the albums you want on your device.
Finally click apply or sync at the bottom of the iTunes screen on your computer.
