Ipad Air vs. previous ipad model chargers 12w & 10w

I have two ipad 2's and an ipad Air and have been  using the  chargers thinking they were the same since they are the same size and  shape. They're not. The Air's charger is 12w while previous versions are  10w.
Apple changed the form factor and specs of the ipad  Air from previous versions. They should have changed the form factor of  the 12w charging brick that came with the Air from the previous 10w ipad  charging brick to prevent confusion. Printing "12w" in a tiny light  gray font on a white background to indicate the power charger is  different is insufficient.
I'd been wondering why my Air is  sometimes slow to charge. I've placed a small red dot on the 12w brick  to differentiate. I hope this helps someone.

  • What ipad model is better for downloading books?

Hello, i want to buy an Ipad, but not 100% sure what ipad model is better for downloading books. i travel a lot and often find myself in the places where wi-fi is not reliable. Any tips are most welcome!

iPad Mini. Both iPads are fine for books, but the Mini is even more portable, and the page size is ideal of reading books. I've had both; the Mini is better, for me. If you have the chance, visit your local Apple Store and try out the units on display. Then, you can determine which is right for you.
If you read lots of emagazines, give the iPad Air a chance. The Air has a larger screen, and that means things will be less cramped. Apps like Flipboard perform well on both devices, but the Air is roomier and easier to navigate.

I would like to use AirDrop on my iPad model MD511LL/A.
How do I make it work?
    Thanks.

Your iPad is an iPad 4 (4th generation), 32 GB, Wi-Fi only and is compatible with AirDrop as long as it's running iOS 7 or later.

  • Can you install a SIM card in a iPad model MD510B/AR

Can you install a SIM card in a iPad model MD510B/AR

Nope this appears to be a WiFi model only if my information is correct. If you have the device to hand then check it for a SIM card tray. With the Home key at the bottom the SIM card try if available will be in the top-left corner.

  • Can a retina ipad model purchased in Australia be used in Europe?

I am currently in Australia and I would like to buy the lates iPad  model (Retina Screen WiFi + 3G)
Will I be able to use it with european mini-sim when I will be back to Europe?

Yes. iPads can be used on 3G networks worldwide. You need to get a plug adapter to fit the wall socket. You do not need a voltage converter or any sort of transformer.

    That is correct.

  • Does my iPad model MD335LL have a retina display?

    I'm confused,....
My iPad was called "The new iPad" when I bought it from the Apple Store two months ago.
    It is model MD335LL.
Does it have the retina display?

How is this for overkill? Every iPad model and description and a link to an online resource. Every iPad 3 has the retina display.

  • Does the iPad model 1395 have a dictation microphone

I gave my daughter my iPad model a1395, 16GB wi-fi only.  She wants to dictate messages but the built in microphone doesn't appear when she opens mail or other apps.
Where can I find it on her iPad?  If it isn't available, is there an app that she can use to serve the same purpose?

You have an iPad 2 which doesn't have the dictation microphone.
Download the free app Dragon DIctation.
