IPad Air w/ Wi-Fi + Cellular Operating System Crashes

From the day I bought an iPad Air, I have experienced crashes. I never had this issue with any of the other models I had previously (iPad I II III & mini). Three months later while traveling, it completely died and I was instructed to reinstall the operating system. iTunes wouldn't recognize it but I got through the installation. I retored it as a new iPad and still had crashes. The iPad was replaced. The replacement started crashing (increasing with every day), and after just over a month it also completely died (reset would not revive it). Once again, I am reinstalling the operating system. Has this happen to anyone else?

Typing from an iPad Air. No probs. I see people are having problems running 32bit apps on 64bit platforms. Maybe your storage is full? Is the backup from an older backup, because sometimes it the back ups that can be faulty. Maybe if you have time try restoring the software and set it up as a new device. See if the problem still persists.

My iPad does not automatically update the operating system.how can I accomplish this?

Your post says you are on iOS 4.3.2.  You need to be at least at iOS 5 to have a "Software Update" capability on your iPad.  Right now, you need to update your iPad using iTunes on your computer.
Plug your iPad into iTunes (current version: 11.0.4).  Let it sync.  Then choose "Check for Updates" from the iPad's summary page in iTunes.

Hello i have a problem with my MacBook Air they wiped out the operating system then installed windows 7 how do i re install the apple firmware please help

That is incorrect. You can install Windows on a Mac, any Mac, without having OS X installed on it.
To the OP you will need the original system reinstall USB thumb drive that came with your Mac Air if it is older than a Mid 2011 model or if it is newer than a Mid 2011 model you use the Online Internet recovery system.
If you don't have that original reinstall USB thumb drive you can order one from Apple for a small charge. Call Apple and ask to speak to someone Specifically to order a Replacement USB system reinstall thumb drive for your model year. You will need the serial number of that Air. It is etched into the bottom of the case.

  • If I purchase an iPad Air in Australia with cellular data capability, will I be able to use the cellular service when i'm in Canada as well.

I am going to Canada and want to buy an iPad before i go to use predominantly when i'm over there. One of the essential things that I require is mobile data and so i would be buying a cellular version of the iPad Air. However, before i buy the iPad Air in Australia i want to be sure that I will be able to use the cellular function when I am in Canada as well.
    Does anyone have any advice?

If it's unlocked, then you should be able to get service in Canada. However, if it's locked to an Ozzie service, then they have to unlock it if they are willing/able to do so.

  • Ipad air with Wi-Fi + Cellular has no sim card error

    No Sim on iPad Air
I am new to the iPad and iPhone for that matter. Every time I turn on my iPad, there is an error that says no sim card installed. I don't know if this is a problem with my iPad or verizon? When I purchased the iPad from Apple they asked what cellular I used which is Verizon. I would appreciate any help.
    Thank you!

I have the same issue with mine. I just bought it from AT&T. My issue is resolved by turning it completely off then on again. Not sure if that will help you. Maybe you will need to take it back to Verizon or Apple store for help.

  • Lost music when operating system crashed

I recently lost my operating system and had to restore the computer to "New". I was able to transfer my purchases from my IPOD back to my library, however there were some songs that I bought that day that I did not sync to the IPOD, but they show up in my purchase history. How do I transfer these songs in, or how do I contact ITunes to have them help me?
    thanks,
    Erin

If you didn't make a back-up of your purchases to restore from then I'm sorry to say that the policy on lost purchases is that you have to pay to download them again:
"Once a Product is purchased and you receive the Product, it is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage the Product, and Apple shall be without liability to you in the event of any loss, destruction, or damage." iTunes Store: Purchased content can be downloaded only once
You could try contacting the iTunes Music Store Customer Service and you might be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download. There have been occasional reports in the iTunes forum of this happening, however just be aware that they are not under any obligation to do so. If you click on the link at the bottom of this page you'll be able to email your query: iTMS Customer Service

  • CD stuck in drive and Operating System Crash

    Hi,
I've had my ibook in storage for a couple of months and it was ok for the first few days when I got it back, but... last night it came up with a strange message when I tried to launch Civ 3 or Appleworks (but ok for Dreamweaver or Filemaker Pro) - said something about problem with library mirror file problem. Restarted, took out battery etc. all to no avail. Just got worse - just the turning cirble, then finally just the icon to show no operating system. Problem is, I've still got a CD in the drive and so can't put in the operating system disk. I had some problems about a year ago with files being overwritten and reinstalled from scratch (saved no data). Grateful for any assistance.

    Hi,
    Welcome to the Discussions.
Start the computer in Open Firmware by holding down
the command-option-o-f keys at startup. You'll see a
command line screen. Enter "eject cd" (without
quotes) at the prompt and press return. After it's
ejected insert the install disc and enter "mac-boot"
and press enter. It should start from the disc in a
    few moments.
    John
    Hi John,
Many, many thanks - cd ejected and re-installing system only.
If you're ever in NZ I owe you a coffee...
    Cheers,

  • IPad Air 2 T-Mobile Cellular Issue

I started Cellular service with T-Moblie.  My issue occurred when switching between cell towers. I would loose my cellular connection - "No Service".
I Tried to switch air plane mode on/off - problem persisted
I tried restoring network connections - problem persisted
I called Apple support and they directed me to repeat my first two steps.
The only way I could get my T-Mobile cell service was to do a hard reboot.
However, I would loose service again, forcing me to reboot the device.
I was instructed by Apple support to go to T-Mobile as the next step in trouble shooting.
If that was not fruitful I was to call back to restore my device.
The T-Mobile rep stated they had seen devices losing the cell signal but this was the first Apple device she had seen with this issue.
She then gave me a 1-800 number to trouble shoot with at-Mobile.
I Asked her to swap out the Apple SIM for a T-Moble specific SIM just to rule out the possibility of the SIM card being the issue.
She happily changed out the SIM card.
This resolved my issue and am no longer dropping cellular service.
Since somebody else may have a similar issue I thought I would post my experience.

    Hey ravichab,
Thanks for the question. I understand that you are experiencing issues pairing your iPad with a third-party bluetooth keyboard. The following resource may provide a solution:
Using Bluetooth headsets and keyboards with iPad - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/HT202042
Get help with pairing Bluetooth accessories
If you are unable to pair with or connect to an existing Bluetooth accessory, try the following steps:
    1. Ensure that the Bluetooth accessory is in range. Most accessories have a range of approximately thirty feet.
    2. If you are unable to see the accessory in Settings > Bluetooth:
    - If a pairing record already exists, try to connect the accessory using that pairing record, or delete the record and pair again.
    - If you have not paired with the accessory, follow the manufacturer's instructions to place it in discovery mode and then pair the accessory.
    3. If you can see but are unable to pair with the accessory:
    - Verify the PIN for the accessory. You may need to refer to your manufacturer's documentation for this.
    - Verify that the Bluetooth accessory is using a profile that works with the iPad, such as Headset, A2DP, or HID.
    4. Ensure that the firmware or software on the Bluetooth accessory is up to date.
    5. Ensure that the Bluetooth accessory is charged or connected to power.
    6. Turn off both the iPad and the Bluetooth accessory, then turn both devices on again.
    7. If the issue persists, test Bluetooth with another accessory or consult the manufacturer's documentation.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • My computer (XP operating system) crashed with my adobe acrobat Pro 8.0 and I need to put it on my new computer (windows 7.0 operating system)

I have have the seriel #

    Hi Medina ,
Acrobat 8 is an older version .It might not be compatible with Windows 7 .
Try upgrading it to the latest version .i.e Acrobat 11.0.10 or any higher versions than Acrobat 8.
Many folks have gotten AA8 to work on Win7. I have only heard of one report suggesting that AA8 will work on a 64-bit system, and I am not sure about the report. If you have a 64-bit system, you will likely need to upgrade, though if you play around you might be successful in finding a solution (Adobe will not help since it is not a certified platform, but some folks here might if they have been successful).
In any case, after installation you will need to do the updates for proper operation. If you can not do them from within Acrobat, you may have to download them fromhttp://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows. You need to install the updates in ORDER unless indicated other wise. Reboots can typically be saved until the last update is installed.

  • New operating system crash

As with everyone else my android goes into a rebooting mode at 2:00 AM ever since the new software was installed.  Not happy that it wakes me up and that at times I have to remove the battery to regain function.
Will Verizon fix this ASAP ???

You can copy purchases that you've made from Apple from the iPad to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases. If that doesn't work then as long as the apps are still available in the store, and you use the same iTunes account as you originally used to buy them, then you should be able to re-download them for free (you can also re-download ibooks, and if you are in the US music and TV shows) : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519
If you've copied any of your own music to the devices then have you made and maintained backups e.g. on external drives, CDs, DVD etc ? If not then you will need to search for third-party programs that may be able to copy content off the device and onto your computer.

  • I have just bought an iPad mini and to transfer my contacts, music etc via iTunes on my PC, the PC crashes - is this because of the different operating systems?

    Can anyone please help

    Hi Pa23from Argyllshire,
This error: I have just bought an iPad mini and to transfer my contacts, music etc via iTunes on my PC, the PC crashes should not occur.
The best guess is this crash is caused due to an issue with the PC.
Make sure your iPad is updated to the latest operating system: iOS 7.0.4 and make sure iTunes is updated to iTunes 11.
iTunes 11 is optimised for iOS 7, so if you have an iOS 7 device and non iTunes 11 computer, life would be hard.
Try to update iTunes to 11.1.3 from: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Even try uninstalling iTunes and then re-installing. iTunes will not lose any of your iTunes songs when your un-install it as iTunes stores every media item in a folder found in (or around): C:\Users\NAME\Music\iTunes
Obviously iTunes and iDevices work best using Mac iTunes however; iTunes 11 and iOS 7 iPad Mini should work fine.
    In summary possible solutions:
    1.       Update iPad Mini to iOS 7 or better (iOS 7.0.4)
    2.       Update iTunes to iTunes 11.1.3
    3.       Restart both PC and iPad
    4.       Uninstall iTunes from PC
Many Thanks, Happy New Year and I look forward to hearing from you regarding this crash!
