  • Mail attachments won't open in iPad Air-- what do I do?

Nothing happens when I tap on an attachment, or the little box may briefly say, "Downloading," then go back to doing nothing. Also, when I press and hold, no options pop up for opening the file. HELP!

What type of file is it?
Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).

  • Since I updated my iPad air to iOS 8.02 FaceTime doesn't work plus an app that works on the old iOS

    Hi, Sezzy31.

  • I have no sound on the iPad.  What happened?

I think I have tried everything!  No sound on the iPad. I have tried resetting it. I have double tapped the home button to get to the sound bar. I think I've checked everything!  Please help me!!!

Could you have muted it? THere's a little switch by the volume toggle that can serve as either rotation lock or 'all mute'. If you have it set as all mute (you can do this in setting/general) then if you flip that switch it totally silences your iPad.

  • What happen to my FaceTime app after I installed IOS6?

I installed ios6 on my 4s phone and now my FaceTime app disappeared. How do I access FaceTime now?

This so strange my husband swears he had it on his phone before he updated. He remembers using it.
Several friends remember having it too. I thought I remember having it too.
But I have several other friends who haven't updated and they say they don't have it.
It seems that some people believe they have it and others don't. I guess it will remain a mystery.

  • Facetime not on my Mother's Ipad Air iOS 7.0

    Hello,
Has anyone ever heard of Facetime disappearing from an Ipad Air? I tried to facetime with my mother this weekend, and it said no such user/connection was possible when I tried to contact her. I then called her on the phone and she said that no Facetime app was on her Ipad Air (3 months old, running iOS 7.0), and when I had her confirm in her Settings, no Facetime option showed to be enabled or disabled (as I originally thought she may have turned it off).
So... Since this is an Ipad Air that was sold in the USA (Pompano Beach, FL), and is 3 months old, What happened? How do we get it back? Does she need to do a complete iOS reboot/recovery?
    Help please!
    Best regards,
    MarkoAD

If FaceTime is not listed in Settings > General > Restrictions as restricted, try Settings > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout and see if it comes back.

  • Restore new ipad air from iPad 2 backup

I backed up my ipad 2 to iTunes by USB cable with no problem a month ago.  I bought a new iPad Air and want to restore it from the old iPad backup.  When I connect the new Air by USB to my iMac (late 2012), running 10.8.5, with iTunes open, no device shows up, and a window says that iTunes cannot connect to the device "Peggy's iPad" because the device timed out. The operating system and iTunes version are the same as when I made the backup from my old iPad. What happened?

If you don't have teh most current version of iTunes, you probably will not be able to sync the iPad Air.
Also, from the error message you give, it sounds to me like it's trying to sync via wifi and not via the cable, is this how your iTunes is configured for the new iPad Air?  I have no issues syncing my iPad Air to a MacBook Pro running Mavericks (OS X v10.9) using the USB cable, although I did intentionally set mine up as a new device rather than as a restore of my iPad 2 backup...

  • Documents in Safari no longer give me the option to open in iBooks. What happened???

The link to pdf documents, from Safari to iBooks, has ceased to exist on my iPad. What happened & how to fix??? In the past, when opening a pdf thru Safari, just tapping on it, brought  up the option to "Open in iBooks", but it no longer pops up. Ugh. Help??

That's correct. You will need to open the PDF in Safari first, then tap Open in "iBooks" (or "Open in ..." to send to other available apps). If the tool bar for this isn't readily visible, tap anywhere on the document to display it.

  • IPad Air is stuck in Dfu mode and iTunes does not recognize

Hello while i was restoring my ipad air and it wasn't going on so i disconnected my ipad air while "restoring" and it was in Recovery mode and i tried restore it again and it gaved me error 2005 and i put in dfu mode and tryed it again and it gave me same error 2005 and i tried disconnecting usb cable and connect again and then iTunes didn't recognize my iPad Air what can i do?

    Hey Ozan274,
Thanks for the question. If your iPad is not recognized in iTunes while in recovery mode, follow the steps in this article:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
While you should follow all of the steps in the article, the applicable information is located in Step 5, sub-section titled “If the device is not recognized while in Recovery Mode”
I also see that you are experiencing error 2005, which may be the root cause of your main issue. For more information, see this article:
Resolve specific iTunes update and restore errors
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694
    Check USB connections
If there’s an issue with the USB port, cable, dock, or hub, or if the device becomes disconnected during restore, try troubleshooting the USB connection, then troubleshooting your security software.
    Common errors: 13, 14, 1600-1629, 1643-1650, 2000-2009, 4000, 4005, 4013, 4014, 4016, “invalid response”, and being prompted to restore again after a restore completes.
To narrow down the issue, you can also change up your hardware:
    - Use another USB cable.
    - Plug your cable into a different USB port on your computer.
    - Try a different dock connector (or no dock).
    - Add (or remove) a USB hub between your device and computer.
    - Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, with no routers, hubs, or switches.
If you see your error after changing your USB connections, continue to the next section to troubleshoot your hardware.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.
