IPad Air wifi connection problems

I Got a new iPad air as a gift from kids, Dec. 2013 to replace my iPad 1. this new iPad has never been able to stay connected to wifi...if I step away from using it for more than 20 min. I have to go into settings to reconnect. Everyday, all day long this has been an issue! For more than a year now ATT has been to my home and on the phone trying to resolve issues...new router/modems....run new wires....etc. I have documentation form office of the president for these issues For the past year. 3 days ago an ATT trouble support person concluded it was an Apple issue and told me to call them. I have been two days of troubleshooting over the phone with Apple Support and nothing could be fixed, they said never heard of the issue.....but I see hundreds of this issue online.....so they set up for me to have it replaced with a new one of the same....took it in last night 1/30/2015, since I have all documentation for the past year there would be no charge, but I lose my engraved iPad. Ok so get it home, set it up, restore and all those things.....working fine. Get up the next morning and guess what?? Safari cannot get a connection....mail cannot update....games won't updat....ALL of the exact same issues.  This ipad has a 90 day warranty......what is my solution to this ongoing very nerve wracking problem? all my other wireless products stay connected all the time...printer, laptops, iPhone 5s....other brands of phones....so far no problem with iPhone 6, but that phone is not here full time to check daily. I don't think I can take to much more of this run around....what is the solution please?
Yes, everything has been tried.....reboot every product involved...reset....everything. What is Apples solution for this issue? Yes my iPad is updated. Thanks.

Definetively I'm WiFried once again!

  • Macbook air wifi connection problem?

    Hello Apple Communities
So i recently pre-ordered a custom built 13inch macbook air, and i am just wondering
if theres still any issues with the wifi connection. I living in Australia by the way.
    Thanks!

I don't know that 802.11 ac is the clear answer - but - if you have broadband access that is likely to support ac (not all is/can) in my opinion it would be wise to look to the future and buy an ac supporting router. Certainly those with older routers have more problems, and updating firmware (when possible) seem to cure some.
Some claim dissabling Bluetooth was their unhappy solution.
Certainly part of the "fix" for some appears to be to use 5Ghz and g/n settings as opposed to 2Ghz and a/b.
For others new hardware (returning/exchanging the device) was a solution.
There are moderators (who will quickly correct - or remove) this reply if I've made any false or misleading statements.

  • HELP! Mac Air, Wifi, Connecting Problem

My MBA suddenly have some problem connecting my WiFi at home, while my PC and Cellphone all doing fine. The problem is whenever I tried to connect internet with Air, Something like:"Another device on the network is uding your computer's IP address, try connecting again later. If you continue to have problems, change the IP address of this computer or the IP address of the other device. Contact the network administratot if you need more information." will pop out.
But actually, I did not have the mentioned "other devices" using the same IP.
    Please help!

Try assigning a static ip address. Is your wireless internet password protected? If not someone else could be using it. this can cause the issue.
your ip range may be 192.168.1.100 to 192.168.1.110 this would give you 10 possible ip addresses, 10 devices. (Normal for home use).

  • New Macbook Air - wifi connectivity problems

Well some of you got the problem solved, but for me who has purchased my first apple device besides an Ipad, this is ridiculous.
It has been more than a month and have received 3 updates, 1st was seed update , then the new version and then a software update.
What is ironical is that none of the updates fixed the issue. The internet doesnot connect whenever you wake up your MBA after the 3rd update, earlier it used to just drop in between. Now have started seeing the browser in a Hung mode. The page would not load at all. The only way one can make the thing work is to restart it.
I would definitely want some permanent fix to see my hard earned money not just going down the drain in an Apple.
    <Edited By Host>

Why all these questions about routers and so on?
Apple is delivering a defective product, no more no less! The fault is with some ( or all?) 2013 MBAs and Apple is really not handling this in a way that can be expected.

  • Ipad 2 wifi connection problems

my ipad2 works with all router unless my home one, could somebody help me telling how to connect? thanks!

Well, if it works all other routers, then they probably are not password protected. Maybe you need to enter your router's password? That's all I can think of from what you've provided. Maybe some settings in your router prevent connections from other devices; i.e. Mac address only.

  • New ipad air not connect to my home wifi (it is working). switched on select country, language and invited to select wifi via password - join lights up - 'joining' - message can't join / dismiss

    New ipad air
    home wifi working
Switch on - select langauge / country
    home wifi on list
password in - Join illuminates - seems to be connecting then - message - 'cant connect - dismiss'
I have turned internet connection off + on no difference
    Can any one help?

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

  • IPad WiFi Connection Problems - WiFi Symbol Appears With Full Bars but I Don't Get A Checkmark?

I was using the iPad one day and then all of a sudden it stopped connecting to the internet. The network at this hotel is very good and I've asked them about their router so it is not the router's problem.
I go to the Settings and tap on Wi-Fi then I tap on the hotel network. After a few seconds, it says the network name beside the Wi-Fi tab and it gives me the WiFi symbol showing 3 bars. But then I never get the checkmark or tick saying everything is connected. I try going online and it says the iPad is not connected to the internet. I've tried an iPhone and it connected and got a checkmark in a few seconds. I've talked to the front desk and he took out his phone and showed me that he could connect, he even opened a page without any problems at all.
I've been trying to find a solution for this for a long time. I've been searching Google over and over again. I turned Airplane Mode on for 1 minute, I've tried Resetting my Network settings, I've tried forgetting the network and reconnecting again, I've tried removing all restrictions from the iPad, I've rebooted the iPad A LOT, etc.
So this is my problem for people who don't want to read the whole message:
    1. I can't connect to the internet with the iPad
    2. It shows the WiFi symbol saying its connected but I never get the checkmark or tick.
    3. It's not the router problem.
    4. I've tried other networks and it doesn't work. It just keeps on showing that loading circle right beside the network name.
    5. Do any of you know what this problem is? Or do you have a solution?
Thank you for reading this and have a great day

Since you are in a hotel, some of these are not applicable.

  • How do I get a full screen pre-view on my ipad air when connecting my samsung NX 300 camera

When connecting my samsung nx300 camera via wifi to my ipad air using samsung smart camera app I can only get a small pre-view window on the corner of the screen (80x40) The camera as been back to samsung and they have confirmed that it is working ok.

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
Doesn't solve your wifi connection problem, but you can use Apple's camera connection kit to transfer pics/videos from your camera. You can connect the camera to the iPad using a USB cable or use the camera's SD card.

  • New retina MacBook Pro - WiFi connectivity problems

    Dear all,
I've recently purchased the new Haswell 13" retina MBP, and I'm having exactly the same WiFi connectivity problems the 2013 Airs had. I have a solid connection for a short time, and at irregular intervals it just drops out. All of my other devices are still connected and have no problems. I've tried with two different routers/modems, but the problem persists.
Is this a known problem - with hopefully a software fix in the forseeable future, or do I need to return the MacBook?
Many thanks in advance for your help,
    Nic

I haven't got a Retina, but I do have the same wifi problem. And if you've looked at these forums, you'll see it's been going on for years and no one seems to have a handle on what the issue is. All I can say is if I were in your place I'd take it back and exchange it. You have the chance now, so take it.

  • Is there no GPS in ipad air wifi model ??

Is there no GPS in ipad air wifi model ??

Apple doesnt integrate GPS on the Wi-Fi only models, but you can still locate yourself and use Location Services only if you are connected through Wi-Fi. The cellular + Wi-Fi models are more precise on GPS as they use cellular signals to pinpoint accuracy of your location.
If you meant GPS as in Car GPS, it will be tough to drive with a Wi-Fi only model as it will keep asking you to join networks every time your out of range. Otherwise, the Cellular+ WiFi can support connection almost wherever you go.

  • Ipad 3 WiFi connectivity issues

All right.. this might be a two part problem.  I was attempting to enable restrictions, and after I entered the passcode twice and tapped "Enable restrictions," it asked me to enter a new passcode again.  Without doing much checking, I decided to resort to "Reset All Settings."  After doing this, I'm unable to connect to any WiFi networks.  I did this while at my in-laws house, and thought perhaps it was something flukey with their router.. however, after returning home, I ran into the same issue.
When I attempt to connect, I get "Incorrect password for "<my network>", and it says "Failed to join "<my network>" at the top of the password entry box. I have two sons with iPads, and I was able to disconnect and reconnect to the wireless network with no issue on theirs.  I set up a secure guest network, and was able to log in with my sons' iPads, but not mine.  Same issue.. I enter the password, and it comes back with "Incorrect password..."
When I set up an unsecure network, I'm able to join.and use as normal.  There must be a settings issue that I'm overlooking somewhere, but I can't seem to find it or figure out how to find it while I search the wasteland of Google search results.  Any help would be most appreciated.

  • TS1368 My new iPad Air has connection to iStore, but it gives me USA instead of UK. I don't know how to change it.....and I am a dinosaur in these matters:-)

Help. New iPad Air WiFi...has connection to iStore USA. I want iStore UK. For downloading films/ TV Series. How can I change it to UK?   Am dinosaur, so easy answers please :-)

If you are not here in the UK then you can't use the UK store - you need to be in a country to use its store, so if you are in Hungary then you can only use the Hungary store.
The UK's store terms of use include (and other countries will be similar) :
The Service is available to you only in the United Kingdom. You agree not to use or attempt to use the Service from outside this location. iTunes may use technologies to verify your compliance.
If there is a particular film or TV programme/series that you want to buy that isn't currently in the Hungarian store then you can try requesting that it be added, but unless the rights-holder agrees to it then Apple won't be able to sell it there : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunes.html
