IPad and Apple TV mirror intermittent yet wifi signal is strong with solid Internet connection
On my iPad, I like to be able to mirror everything to my Apple TV when there is company. Sometimes this is not a problem. When I select the icon for the menu to choose iPad or Apple TV, it comes up OK but I cannot always select Apple TV. It is intermittent and I cannot find the pattern. All other connections are solid and strong.
Connect up the ipad/iphone to the Seagate hdd (use the default settings to start with, then u can change name of network/password ect)This is an app for the seagate hdd that does this.
Turn on the AppleTV and then just usging the built in Menu go to Network, and then pick the network that has been set up on the seagate Hdd.
ALL this does let you do is, Mirror the ipad/iphone as there is no internet connection. but thats ok cause internet was not a must for me. if i want internet on it, i just connect it up to my Home network.

I just purchased an Apple TV. I have a pc running windows 7. It is connected to a router and the router is connected to a wireless router. I connect my iPhone, iPad and apple tv to wireless network but do not know how to put the pc on the wifi network so the Apple TV can do home share.
I don't mean to be facetious but sometimes the simplest things are overlooked. To connect to your library you have to have the computer where the iTunes library is located running and with iTunes open. It also needs to be on the same network. My network is dual band and works with either stream but a friend of mine does not. He has to set the computer and the Apple TV to the same band. Hope this helps.

My ipad2 has suddenly decided not to connect to the internet either through Safari or email. My WiFi signal is strong and all other devices in my house are connecting ok. I have tried pressing the home and off buttons together to get the Apple Logo but this has not changed anything, still cannot connect. "Safari cannot open the page because your ipad is not connected to the internet"

I have just realised what has caused the problem.
Yesterday I fitted an additional Homeplug with built in wireless N adapter ( I alreday have another type fitted from my main router position) The wireless system to my ipad is obviously "confused" . Having now removed the second homeplug and reset my ipad all is now ok -
I have an apple TV 2 which mirrors my ipad and iphone beautifully. I want to do the same with my 'later 2011' macbook pro but there is no option I have checked firewalls and done all updates etc but no joy...PLEASE HELP!

My ipad was working, and then just said it wasn't connected to the internet. I have forgotten the network and rejoined, I have turned off the ipad (slid on the arrow), and still no luck. The macbook is working with no problem. Help.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

Two weeks ago we bought a mini iPad in New York. In New York, we have also taken into use cases. The mini ipad disposal was connected to the mac computer of my son, who lives there. We have not made backup. At home in the Netherlands, we wanted this case for charging on the Windows computer, that we have at home. Immediately, the itunes program was activated (we had a few years an ipod in the house). Appears in the computer the message that you can register. Cases I tried that. I do not know if I did succeeded. There also were some choices of settings. So I made the mistake of choosing the setting to use movies as I recall.
That same afternoon comes on the ipod in the message screen that he can connect to the server no contact. WIFI contact fails. The ipad is happening the same. The computer still works fine with the wifi connection. Both Apple devices have done well yesterday here in the Netherlands.
Please give me a good advice?Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync/delete all videos and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

I have dragged my entire library over to the iCloud icon on the left side menu bar on my iMac iPhotos.

Get all places and faces tagged, all keywords, titles, and ratings ready, duplicates removed, events and albums well structured, and when Photos will be released, you can simply let it migrate the iPhoto or Aperture library to iCloud Photo Library. So I have a Mac Mini with HDMI hooked up to my HDTV.
Last night I wanted to rent a movie when I noticed that I could only rent the SD version. At first I thought maybe it was only available in SD.
But then I noticed some text saying that it was available in HD on iPad and Apple TV.
Is it just me or is this ridiculous? The Mac Mini has an HDMI on it so it can be hooked up to HDTVs...It's exact same as an Apple TV.
Why on earth can't I watch the HD version on my TV?
Please tell me that I am an idiot and there is some setting that I'm missing that will allow this.I assume you are playing these directly from iTunes. Make sure the default is set to HD. You can do this by right clicking the movie in question, go down to version, and select HD as the default.

my macbook pro is connected to internet via my time capsule but my iPad and iPhone won't. it shows wifi connection to the time capsule but when i go on to the internet on the iPad or iPhone, it comes up with network error. can anyone help?
This can be caused by a number of issues.
Was everything working and then suddenly stopped??
Or is this a new clean setup and has never worked.
Do you have a cable modem which is not a router and the TC setup in bridge? That will cause it. The TC must be in router mode, ie dhcp and nat.
Check the IP the MBP gets including dns and gateway..
Then check the ipad/iphone.. post what IP dns and gateway (router in applespeak) they get. -
IPad and Apple TV won't connect after upgrade to 6.1.2
I have two iPad2 that I installed the latest upgrade on to test the waters last Thursday. They both connected to Apple TV on Friday, now today, Monday, niether will connect.
I found another discussion that helped with my situation. I turned off the devices; iPad and Apple TVs, then powered down the Wireless Access Point (WAP) and when the WAP came back up, I restarted the devices. In both cases the devices connected without a hitch.
