  • IPad and Bluetooth

Unfortunatelly there is not yet a forum for the iPad. I hope, this will be read by some apple personal and probably put into a new forum.
I am faszinated by the iPad. It is exactly what I expected and what I am missing up to now for our living room. We have a Mac mini connected to the TV as hard disc recorder, movie and picture player as well as mp3-player for the HIFI system. For this Mac mini we have the apple bluetooth keybord.
I am wondering if the keyboard could be used also with the iPad? Would make the use more independent and the small dock-in station would be sufficient - and look much better, e.g. for a digital photo frame. And the iPad has bluetooth anyway...

Generally speaking, Apple personel doesn't comment or view the forum. A few do, but they aren't allowed to talk about features of new products - if they even know them.
Short answer is that we don't know yet. When the iPad is released in 2 months we will be able to answer that question. Until then there is no information beyond what is already posed on this site.

  • Simultaneous audio output from Ipad and bluetooth ?

Is it possible to have simultaneous audio output from IPAD and a bluetooth speaker? At present I can only get audio from the Bluetooth Speaker and nothing from the IPAD's audio out! My purpose is that my Mom will hold the IPAD to listen to her Audiobooks but my Dad who sits across the room and is hard of hearing needs a speaker close to him, so I need simultaneous audio from both devices.

Use this: http://smile.amazon.com/KOKKIA-A10m-MULTI-STREAM-Transmitter-concurrently/dp/B00 69G1SIC/ref=smi_www_rco2_go_smi_1968491462?_encoding=UTF8&*Version*=1&*entries*= 0&pf_rd_p=1968491462&pf_rd_s=smile-campaign&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B0069G1SIC&pf_rd _m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1N57Q0YT9QW7Y1K596YD and use two Bluetooth speakers for them. The speaker output on the iPad is pretty limited and your mother will probably have a hard time hearing it. Get a BT speaker for both and the above device and they both can listen from whatever location they want (within 40 feet) and get better sound.

  • IPad and Bluetooth Keyboard

My iPad no longer responds generally to the Apple Bluetooth Keyboard. I have changed the batteries, disconnected and reconnected via Bluetooth, restarted the iPad, and even tested the Keyboard on the MacBook Pro, with which it works fine. However, on the iPad I am only able to type the connection code for Bluetooth, and use the 'Brightness' and Volume buttons. Nothing else works. I cannot type after it has been connected. Any suggestions?

    1. Does anyone know if the keyboard dock comes apart so that you can use the dock stand alone?
It doesn't look like it in the pictures.
    2. If the answer to question #1 is NO, does anyone know if you can use the non-keyboard dock without it being hooked to AC power?
You should be able to but we'll know for sure in March. You could also just buy a case that doubles as a stand.

  • Ipad and bluetooth Belking Ultimate keyboard

Why cant i connect my Belkin Ultimate Keyboard via Bluetooth to my ipad? It was working prior to the latest IOS update but not now.  Has anyone got any idea whats up and how to rectify it?

have ipad2 8.3 and use my imac's bluetooth keyboard with it
it works ok, so I would make the ipad forget the belkin and put it in pairing mode (belkins manual should describe how) and readd it
my iphone use a sandberg mini windows key layout keyboard so it's not a special apple keyboard thing
though my iphone use ios 7.X.Y

  • How to prolong the bluetooth timeout session on ipad and iphone

how to prolong the bluetooth timeout session on ipad and iphone?
I understannd that the standard timeout setting is 3 mins. what if I want to prolong the connection duration, how should I do?
    thanks

To my knowledge, there is no "time out" on a device.  A mouse, KB, etc will go into a low power mode after a short period of non-use.

  • I have an ipad and a bluetooth keyboard which was initially set up with a family member's account. Their account has been erased I am now using the ipad but cannot get the bluetooth keyboard to connect. no device is recognized. any suggestions????

I have an Apple iPad Mini With Wi-Fi 16GB and a Rock Bluetooth keyboard that was previously used by my daughter. Her information was erased from the ipad and I have set it up as a new user under my account. All went well until I tried to set up the keyboard. When I go to Settings and turn on Bluetooth the ipad does not detect any device. I know they were paired and working when she was using them. Could it be because the ipad/keyboard were operating with her account and know won't connect to mine? We do not live in the same city so how would I clear the keyboard so that I could connect it to a 'new' ipad?

    Hi sugaliko,
You may need to set up your BlueTooth connection to the keyboard again. Use the steps in this article for guidance -

  • IPad wifi and Bluetooth greyed out after iOS5 update

After updating to iOS5 on my iPad my WiFi and Bluetooth were greyed out like the update has caused a hardware failure on the radio side.  My SIM and 3G still work (not that I use it) but I can not even choose wifi or bluetooth in settings app as they are greyed out.
In Wifi it says "No Wi-Fi" and Bluetooth it says "Unavailable"
I wasn't using it a lot so just forgot about it for a while as it sat gathering dust being an expensive paperweight thinking that the next software (5.0.1) update would sort it all out.  It doesn't.  I have a 64GB iPad 3G with no wifi and as I am living abroad the 3G is useless to me (though only use the ipad at home on my wirless network anyway, or not as the case is now!!)
I have restored, factory restored, cleaned installed new software, everything I can think of but still there is no wifi and no bluetooth.
Has anyone else had this issue?  My (very expensive) iPad is now next to useless!!
ANY help is VERY much appreciated.

thank you for fast response and sharing the link but i've tried everything including downgrade but it seems that theres a serious problem with MC497LL model and trying to reach to the support for any updates about it at least trying to inform them

    Hi there.
I connected to my livebox after about three attempts. You have to pair the livebox by pressing either the number one or two that is on the box. When it is in pair mode it stays that way for ten minutes so it gives you chance to try your wep code that is on the bottom of the box a few times. I can't remember which one was successful but i did try the letters in uppercase and lower and one of them seemed to connect.
Welcome to discussions by the way.
    Hope this helps JB

    Hey Blunotte82,
Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, the two iOS devices are not able to be found. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.
iOS: Troubleshooting Bluetooth connections - Apple Support
Bluetooth disconnects, intermittent connectivity, or unable to find
Move your iOS device closer to the Bluetooth accessory.
Position your iOS device and Bluetooth accessory in direct line of sight of each other. For example, move the Bluetooth accessory and iOS device to the same side of your body.
Remove any case, stand, or other accessories from your iOS device and see if performance improves.
Check for sources of potential interference and move both the iOS device and the Bluetooth accessory away from other electronic devices.
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This will reset all network settings including: previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords, recently used Bluetooth accessories, VPN, and APN settings.

    Have a good one,

  • How iPad and iPhone Bluetooth connect?

    How iPad and iPhone Bluetooth connect?It does't work.I try 36 times.help me.

If you trying to transfer documents via bluetooth between the iPad and iPhone then you can't as it's not supported - bluetooth on the iPad is aimed at devices such as headphones and keyboards. A full list of the supported bluetooth profiles is on this page http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3647

  • HT3887 Why do iPhones and iPads have bluetooth if they cannot be paired? It is so frustrating!! I've even tried downloading BW lite. Still can't pair the two.

Why do iPads and iPhones have bluetooth if they can not be paired? What do I need to pair these two and share files?

Why do iPads and iPhones have bluetooth if they can not be paired?
They can be paired, but you need to be using suitably equipped apps that support peer-to-peer Bluetooth functions - such as multi-player games, photo sharing apps etc.
They can also be paired to headphones, speakers, car stereos, headsets etc.

  • I have an Ipad and an Ipod Touch 5th gen both on the latest firmwares but they won't connect via bluetooth whenever I try even though both shows that the devices are discoverable. I need help!

I have an Ipad and an Ipod Touch 5th gen both on the latest firmwares but they won't connect via Bluetooth whenever I try even though both shows that the devices are discoverable. I also tried connecting them with my Bluetooth enabled laptop but it also didn't worked. Because of the Bluetooth not working I also can't enable airdrop.

    iPad (4th generation or later)
    iPad mini
    iPod touch (5th generation)
You also need to turn on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. If you want to share with your contacts, sign in to your iCloud account.

    System Requirements
To see if your Mac works with AirDrop, make sure you’re in the Finder by clicking the desktop (the background area of your screen), or by clicking the Finder icon in the Dock. Then, check to see if AirDrop is listed as an option in the Go menu. If you don't see AirDrop listed, your Mac doesn't support this feature.
In order to transfer files between a Mac and and an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch
your iOS device needs to include a lightning connector
your iOS device needs iOS 7 or later installed
your Mac needs to be a 2012 or later model with OS X Yosemite installed
Your Mac and iOS device both need bluetooth and Wi-Fi turned on. You do not have to be connected to a specific Wi-Fi network.
To transfer files between two Mac computers, you need the Mac models listed below with Wi-Fi turned on and OS X Lion or later installed.
MacBook Pro (Late 2008 or newer)*
MacBook Air (Late 2010 or newer)
    MacBook (Late 2008 or newer)*
    iMac (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Mini (Mid 2010 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2009 with AirPort Extreme card, or Mid 2010)
*The MacBook Pro (17-Inch Late 2008) and the white MacBook (Late 2008) do not support AirDrop.
For help identifying your Mac, choose About This Mac from the Apple menu. You can refer to the Apple Support website to find out if your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch includes a lightning connector.

Otherwise you need an app to pair via BT one iOS device to another iOS device. There may be apps that allow pairing with a Mac computer. The iOS devioces do not have the BT profiles necessary natively to pair with a computer or another iOS device except for AirDrop
