Ipad and icloud

I had to change my email account as it had been hacked;  once I did this I was not able to delete my icloud account on my ipad, because the old password doesn't work, and it can't be sent to the old email address.
I need to change the icloud account to my new appleid..

No, iOS 5 and 4.3.5 are different versions and 5 is needed for iCloud - iOS 4.3.5 is the previous version. To update to iOS 5 you first need to be running iTunes 10.5 on your computer, and you can then update the iPad - if the iOS update isn't automatically detected then select the iPad on the left-hand side of iTunes, and then on the right-hand side on the Summay tab click the Check For Updates button.

    I use the calendar on my iphone and I pad for my entire life, including work, everything for my boys and all of my hubbys appointments.
    Last Friday was the last time that I inputed appointments into my calendar and everything previous was in there and on my ipad and icloud.
    I went in this morning to check an appointment time for something next week and found that 99% of the events that I had scheduled since the beginning of the year are missing. And they are missing from my iphone, my ipad, my icloud, and no longer in my Yahoo calendar.
    I am drfinately in a panic, i need these ....
    Has anyone had this problem?
    Can anyone tell me how to get them back please

    Check you aren't hiding them.
    i.e. on the phone settings > mail, contacts, calendars > calendars > sync.

  • TS1702 When I backed up my ipad because I thought I had a problem with it in which I didnt, I went to restore my ipad and now some of my app that I had purchased are not there, the free version is on my Ipad and Icloud but not the purchased version?

    I thought I had a problem with my Ipad in which I didnt, so I backed up my Ipad and restored it, but now Some of my apps that I have purchased are not available only the free version, not the purchased version. I would have to purchase again and it is not backed up into my Icloud either ?

    I assume that you will have to set up as new since it will not let you restore from the backup. Then after you set it up, you can restore from the iCloud backup. The backup should not disappear be use you are setting this device up as new. Your backup should still be in iCloud.
    However, after you activate the iPd and update the software, you will have to erase the device in order to restore from the Cloud backup, that is the only way to get to the iCloud backup.

  • Email appears on my iPad and iCloud inboxes but not in the OS X Mail application

    Some of my email does not show up in my iMac Mail application inbox but appears on my iPad and in my iCloud website inbox. I’m usually using my desktop iMac so I don’t see some of my email until hours later when I happen to be using my iPad.
    I’m running Mavericks, 10.9.1. Thanks for any solution suggestions.

    OK well even if it is not the Exchange problem, you could still try Airmail for a couple of bucks. You will find it as fast as ipad mail. It's in the App Store. It can run alongside Mail.
    Hopefully there will be other suggestions for improving Mail from other posters

    Firstly, may I ask you about your operating system, your profile states that you are using 10.6.8, lion and therefore iCloud will not work with 10.6.8.
    Assuming you are using lion:
    One reason you may have duplicates is that you have each contact listed under your 'iCloud' account AND under your 'on my mac' account. Only contacts in the iCloud account will sync.
    Click on the ribbon in the Address Book to reveal 'Users & Groups', and then by selecting each account on the left side you will see which contacts are in which account. (make sure nothing is typed in the search field)
    If this is the reason you have duplicates you have two options of dealing with the situation. Either you can leave the duplicates alone and click on one account or the other before clicking on the ribbon again to limit what you see to that account when you return to the main part of your Address Book.
    Or you can delete all the contacts from one account (usually the 'on my mac' account if you want to continue syncing with iCloud). Click on the account you want to delete contacts from on the left side of the Address Book and select the first contact in the list on the right, shift click the last contact to select all and delete.
    Finally, You may want to check your default account is set correctly in the Address Book preferences.

    Since i got an ipad, and subsequently used facetime to someone on it, now all my messages from that person appear on my iphone and also my partners! My partners iphone is synced with my apple id as we share itunes etc, but how can i avoid this happeneing?

    They are coming through iMessage. Each phone should have it's own Apple ID. Or you can turn off iMessage.

    My ipad2 is set up for iCloud using my original apple id.  My mac has used my me.com email address to create an addional apple id which seems to have been assigned to the cloud account on my mac.  I therefore cant sync anything between them.

    It is the case of the snake eating his own tail. If I use iforgot.apple.com, I can't use the iCloud ID that's on the iPad. If I enter the iCloud ID used on the iPad, on the page https://iforgot.apple.com/appleid, it will return it returns Select your authentification methode. On that page I have two options -> Email authentication: or Answer security questions:
    I don't use the option Answer security, because my brother in law, doesen't remember the questions.
    If I use the first option, the server sends an email to the email address that no longer exist and that is not the iCloud ID addresses database.

  • All my Numbers and Pages files unable to open on iPad and iCloud

    It looks like all of my Pages and Numbers files from my iPad have been lost by iCloud? I don't use these apps often, but now when I launch them, all of my files have an upwards arrow icon in the upper right corner. When I select any file, the arrow goes away in under a minute, but the file never opens. When I try to access the files from iCloud.com from my MacBook, it says "Spreadsheet can't be downloaded. Please try again." What happened to my files!!!! I can open the "Getting Started" help files in each app.
    My iPad is set up to backup Documents & Data to iCloud. The Storage & Backup options say I have 1.9 GB out of 5GB available. When I go into Manage Storage, it says I am using 5.1 MB for Numbers and 3.6 MB for Pages. When I drill down on each, it lists all of my files that won't open.
    I can open my Keynote files from iCloud and my iPad. These do not show the arrow on the files. Reading through help files, the arrow seems to indicate that the file needs to be uploaded to iCloud? Turning off wifi on the iPad does not affect how this works. Force closing the apps and rebooting have no effect.
    Any ideas? Is this an Apple bug or a confusing new feature of iCloud?

    well, did the test again.. created on the iPad : see screenshot and date. Don't see any document preview.
    Also opened all documents on iPad... same result.

    I accidentally erased the notes on my iPad by turning iCloud off and on. How do I retrieve them?

    I may be mistaken, but unless you have them synched to another device, they are gone. You Might try logging into your mobile.me account or iCloud from a computer to,see if they may still be present.

    Frankly this is the blunderbuss solution but her's what I did. For me, the iCloud account in question with the continual pop-ups was nothing more than an empty shell used to allow me (and others) to track my phone via Find My iPhone.  So, the ID / indentity itself was not essential, the ID could have been jobs1234@icloud for all I cared. I ended up "killing" my then existing iCloud account by deleting it from all devices.  Then I created a new iCloud account and reset the ID into all the relevant devices / users that needed it.  Granted, I had nothing to loose, so to speak, by losing the old iCloud account.  But, I was willing to take that trade.  Admittedly, if you're iCloud account is more central to your life or distributed to others, this is an impossibility.  But, it worked for me.

    Did you try deleteing the iCloud account on the iPad? You will still need to use the old ID and password in order to delete the account.

    Have original iPad.  Updated iTunes (10.5) and IOS 5. When selecting single TV season in "purchased" to download to iPad video, all content on iCloud moves to download.  ???

    It will only appear on the device that has automatic downloads enabled. You can disable/enable them in one place on ipad. Go to settings- itunes and app store and turn on automatic downloads next to music on yours and turn off on your kid's.

    If you plug up both to computer, open itunes, click "back up to computer" on both (not necessary for the one that's being transferred to) then on the one that's sending data click "back up" in the iTunes menu. It will then back up (if not already done in sync). Now plug up the second one (being transferred to) and on the iTunes menu, click "restore from backup" then choose the device you just backed up, and click "ok" or what it says.
