IPad and IMessage problem

Why does my iMessage only work sporadicly?

I'm afraid you're mistaken (in fairness a lot of Genius bar employees tell people this too, oddly enough). The app tray that shows up when you double click the home button does not show "running" apps; think of it more like a list of most recently used apps. iOS manages memory space on its own quite well. "Quitting" an app in the tray may only help you if you're having problems with that app.
All that being said, iMessage only works sporadically for me as well. Right now I can't even sign into iMessage, FaceTime, or receive notifications from Game Center.

    I am turning to this community because i have a problem with my iPad and I ran out of ideas how to solve it.
    Few days ago, I realized that the FaceTime on my iPad  is not working. Every time I try to call someone it says Connection Lost although I have WiFi at this time. I also noticed I am unable to receive FaceTime calls.
    Last night I noticed that iMessage is also not working on my iPad.
    I have tries the following
    1. Restart the Face Time and iMessage
    2. Restart iPad
    3. Restore iPad from iTumes
    4. Restore iPad from ITunes as new phone
    5. Create new Apple account and use it with my FaceTime and iMessage
    6. Updated iOS (now i use iOs 6.1.3)
    The problem persists even after I have done all of the above.
    When I restore the iPad as new one from iTumes I am even unable to log into FaceTime and iMessage with my Apple ID. It says
    "Unable to sign in. Please check your network connection and try again later"
    However, I don't have any network connection problems because all other apps such as Safari and Google are working.
    It seems to me that somehow the iMessage and FaceTime do not connect to my WiFi.
    My question is:
    What else can I try to fix the situation?
    Could it be a hardware problem?
    Any suggestion how to proceed are very welcome.

  • Apple ID's Iphone Ipad and Ipod problem with imessage

    I just got an Iphone and had to set up gmail to transfer all my contacts accross.  Also set up new Apple ID (now have 2) Anyone who imessages me my messages go to my sons Ipad and daughters Ipod.  Any help please

    You have to use a different Apple ID to create a new iCloud account (each ID can only be used with a single account).  You don't have to use the ID for anything else though, she can continue to use her current ID for other services such as iTunes, iMessage, FaceTime, etc.
    The only limitation is that each device can only create three iCloud accounts.

    I have had my iPad since last May, and suddenly I am not able to use iMessages. It won't send or receive messages. I can do both on the same account on my iPod Touch 4. I am wondering if others have had this problem and what they did to resolve it. Thanks!!

    Hi - Sounds like a coincidence - as far as I know, wireless clients are passive and can't affect the settings of a router except with a setup utility - so it looks like a Mac issue - I would suggest re-wording the question and re-posting it on the Mac area of this forum - good luck

  • Apple ID on iPad and iPhone problems

    I changed my Apple ID but my iPad nor my iPhone 5 won't let me log out of my old account. I tried erasing the old account on my iPad but it won't let me because I have to turn off locate my iPad, which I can't do without entering my old password(doesn't work because it doesn't exist anymore). Even though my iPhone has my new account info saved under iCloud it still asks for my old email and password when I try to update apps. I've also tried resetting my iPad and nothing changed. Please help!

    Your response fixed the problem on my iPhone but not my iPad. I updated my Apple ID but cannot delete my old account on my iPad because I cannot turn off "Find my IPad". I do not have access to the old email so I cannot change the password, what other options do I have?

  • Ipad and soundwall problem.

    I have a new Ipad and I hooked it up to my old ipod soundwall, and it works nicely sometimes, but sometimes the soundwall turns off for no reason. Any ideas as to why and how to fix it?

    By the way, since this is the newest iPad it has to be connected to the SoundWall by a cord because it will not fit into the jack at all.

    Help please, got fibre installed yesterday and almost everything is perfect, my PC is fine, my wifes Ipad also fine, however; my Iphone and Ipad simply won't do anything. I thought it might be a safari problem so reset the data etc etc,
    It could acces almost everything, FBook, Maps etc etc, but won't do anything else, I mean I cant use the internet, which is odd as that's what FBook and Maps use

    So I totally reset the IPad deleting everything and starting from scratch, still can't connect to the Cloud or app store, it won't even connect for messaging.
    Oddly enough I managed to connect to cloud when setting up as it emailed me to say I accessed it
    It connects to Itunes music and the App store yet no downloads happen they just sit there waiting
    The devices are clearly connected as shown in my hub manager
    Any advice most welcome

    Make sure you turn off "Smart Set Up" on the Homehub. See link how to do that

    Some devices have a problem with the Homehub dual band having the same SSid (name). Try giving the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz frequencies different SSids. Just add a 5 to the end of the 5Ghz SSid so you know which is which. Check the 5 GHz Sync with 2.4 GHz: is set to NO.
    Once you have done that "forget" the connection on your device and then restart the device and log onto both the SSids if the device can use both frequencies. Not all devices can use 5GHz.

    I am having the exact same problem, but on the 3 Network in the UK... I just keep getting 'Could not activate cellular data network' regardless of what I try.
    I've tried resetting the ipad networking settings, resetting the ipad completely and trying it fresh and resetting it and trying it with my settings and it still won't work.
    I've chatted to 3 on the phone, and they've confirmed the APN is correct as well.
    Anyone got any other ideas?
    Annoyingly, the iPhone also running iOs 4.2 manages to connect fine to the 3 3G Network and work!

    Yes, when you restore as new everything will be wipe from your phone.
    You will need to sync with itunes http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1386  to get back your apps/music and contacts IF you sync with a program in itunes.
    I suggest you import your pics to your computer http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083  then after you restore your phone, you can sync it back to your phone.
