IPad and iPhone can't connect to my wifi network
10/1/13 - Last week updrade my software on my Imac and set up ICloud - could be unrelated to my problem.
1. My iMac and Apple are connect to my Belkin wifi system okay.
2. My two iphones and Ipad cant access my wifi - 'Unable to join network message'
I have search the discussion forums and tried most solutions - still can't get them to join.

I must admit I had a time getting it to work. this Apple computer system can be a lot more user friendly if you ask me. All devices are Apples and I have to do a dick dance to get everything to work together!!! That is BS!!

I recently replaced my cable modem and now my Time Capsule only works with the one Mac Air and not my other devices (another Mac Air, iPad, and iPhone). Any suggestions?
It sounds like you have gone from a cable router with the TC bridged to a cable modem with no router.. so the first device to connect pick up the IP address. Did the cable company give you the same model?? Check if it is a pure modem or a modem router.. and what the last one was.
Anyway.. you should redo the setup.. do you have any computer with ethernet?? Did you buy a USB to ethernet adapter for one of your airs.. very hard to do setup without ethernet.
Also download the new utility.. with the old style.

Redo the setup and make sure you setup correctly to router mode if the cable modem has no router or bridge mode if it is a router. -
Imac connects to time capsule through wifi but ipad and iphone will not connect
I just installed the new Airport Time Capsule. My Imac connects fine through wifi bit my ipad and iphone will not connect to the wifi. They appear in the wifi settings in the devices but will not connect. I have reset modem and time capsule and tried forget network and nothing is working. ANy assistance would be appreciated. Thanks
So I called apple support being fairly certain that I wasn't going to be able to fix this over the phone but essentially, it now works flawlessly with my iOS devices. Here is what I did.
I have a Motorola cable modem surfboard 6421.
I reset my network settings to dhcp and NAT from the default bridge only mode which the tech said only allows one device to connect at a time. Considering my MBA was already connected to the AE, that would explain why my other iOS devices wouldn't connect. After I changed the settings for the network to DHCP and NAT, the router restarted. I then disconnected the power and coaxial cable from the cable modem and reconnected it and once everything came back up, all devices connected fine. Good throughout and signal. Hope this helps. -

How can I get Home Sharing turned on my Apple TV if I have lost my remote control and my remote apps on my ipad and iphone can not get access to my apple tv, only my itunes.
You can't, you will need to get a new remote.

You have to restore the device within iTunes. You want to use the same computer that you always sync with so that you can restore your app data and settings. You can restore with any other computer, but you will lose everything on the iPad.

not much response in here which surprises me...
Anyway... AS I am still looking for answers, I will share a couple of points that I realised...
in Airport Utility, I noticed that my iphone MAC address was actually showing as client connected, despite my phone network showing the spinning wheel next to the network name for ever and never actually connecting.
I am currently testing the router mode in Network to be on DHCP and NAT mode with a range from .2 to .200
My phone is now connected....
Everything seems to be ok and happy so far...
strange that this router and phone have worked together for at least a couple of years, the phone works everywhere else, and all other toys connect to my WIFI just fine. the list is as follow:
airport extreme
Zeppelin air
2x apple tv
2 ipads
iphone 4s
2 mac
1 pc
I have litterally just hard reset the router with a pin just now as a last resort... same...
I will leave the router as DHCP & NAT until a potential firmware or OS update... -
Setting up my brand new MacBook Pro and it will not connect to the wifi network. Nothing wrong with the network which is happily working for my iPhone and iPad! Suggestions accepted for making this connection.
Fixing this is a two step process:
1) System preferences > WiFi/Airport ...
... check [√] Ask to join new networks
"Known networks will be joined automatically.
If no known networks are available, you will
be asked before joining a new network."
2) Remove unwanted networks from the list of "known" networks under
System preferences > WiFi/Airport > (Advanced) > | Airport/WiFi pane ...
Close the window and save changes. If no joy, do a restart to ensure you are playing under the new rules. -
I have an Iphone 5 and it will not connect to any WIFI networks - I have tried following the steps above (including reseting network settings) but it just says 'incorrect password' every time. How can I resolve this?
you have definitely tried the correct steps, all you would need to do now is a back up & restore to factory settings. If after that the issue remains then you would most likely need a replacement unit.

Thanks.At least 255 separate devices. But if you have a lot of users each with devices of their own, then they should each have separate user accounts, separate Apple IDs, and separate iTunes accounts; this will generally require at least one Apple ID/iCloud account per user.

i have two O2 Iphone 4 's and one refuses to connect to any wifi network, and gives me dialog saying, unable to join network "name" dismiss. I took it to O2 shop and it will join 02WIFI. They haven't seen this before and couldn't help. can you?

My iPhone 4s has been update as I said in subject bar.. Now can't connect to any of my cars Bluetooth systems. Also even more frustratingly can't connect to any wifi networks at home or work!!
How can apple put out such an update that causes so much grief and inconvenience to hundreds of people. Not to mention risking lives with Bluetooth kits not working...outraged!!!!!!First, grow up. Just because YOUR phone isn't working, doesn't mean Apple put out bad software. I've not had any difficulty, nor has anyone else I know. And just how is Apple risking lives with Bluetooth kits not working? It's YOUR decision to talk on the phone or text and drive. Not Apple's.

Further making you look foolish is the fact that you haven't even asked a technical support question, nor have you provided anyone here with any troubleshooting steps you might have taken, including those recommended in the user guide.

Safari and Firefox will not connect to website On desktop. IPad and IPhone work fine from the same wifi.

Can't Connect to any WiFi network
I just got my iPhone yesterday and I'm already having a serious problem,I can't connect to any WiFi networks.
I can see the networks around me and I can select networks that I've setup and I know are open or I know the security passwords, I can even enter the network passwords for the ones that require them and it accepts them without complaint. When I select a network I get a little check mark next to that network which I assumes means it should be connected to that network. However, the iPhone never actually connects to them, i.e. no IP address, no router no nothing in the network settings screen for each network, and always appears to the using the Edge wireless network when accessing the internet.
I've tried DHCP and static IP but neither works.
I updated the phones software to 1.1.4, has anybody reported problems like this with this or any version of the software.
Any help would be much appriciated.
If I can't get this resolved today I'm returning to the AT&T store tonight for a new one.

I have personally used an iPhone with routers from D-Link, Netgear, Linksys, Apple and Belkin.
Some routers, regardless of manufacturer need to have their firmware updated. Generally speaking if you look at the release notes, the same updates that resolve issues with DHCP for game systems and PDAs, also resolves them for the iPhone.
In addition hardware or MAC address filtering can cause issues where you connect to the network and not get DHCP.
