IPad and Iphone email

I have problems with my email on both my ipad and iphone. If I get an email from someone that is to me as well as several people CC'd I can't reply to all. I will type the whole email and then when I hit send it will go back to the main screen. It doesn't seem to be settings in my email it just goes back to the main screen.

I actually figured this out. One of the people I work with has an Android phone. My ipad and iphone will not let me respond to his email when sent from his phone. Don't know why but that is what is going on. I am going to experiment and see if I can find anyone else with an android that I can't respond to.

    I have 2 email accounts from Comcast. I recently set one of them up from my MacBook Pro the other I have had for years. Both email accounts worked fine for more than a week on my iPhone and iPad now I keep getting error messages that might say incorrect password or unable to contact server on both the iPhone and the iPad, but the email is still being received and sent on both devices. MacBook Pro has no issues. I have tried deleting the accounts from both devices and reinstalling. Makes no difference.  Any ideas? Could this issue be on Comcasts end? Thanks.

    Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
    Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

    Your settings for the SMTP server — host name, port number, SSL/TLS or not, or login credentials — are likely incorrect.  Use the Connection Doctor tool (Mail.app > Window > Connection Doctor) to check what's going on with the connections (and to get some diagnostic messages), then review the diagnostics and the current settings with the requirements established for your particular mail provider.

    About ~20 hours later, this ended up solving itself. We can send email using the '.icloud' email from both the iPad and iPhone.  Advise would be 'wait' before you start seeking alteranatives like yahoo, hotmail, etc.  This definitely is a convenient way to keep all your 'cloud' information in a centralized place, including the common email...

    Thanks.  I got the problem fixed.  Spent time with the Apple folks and was kicked up to a senior advisor.  It seems the problem was with my internet provider - Tmie Warner.  Remember I could use the old ipad and the iphone to send mail.  I checked all the specifics between the three units.  It seems that TW is changing over from the RR.com  to TWC.com.  Since the new ipad air was just set up, it fell under the new TWC mail specifics.

    It sounds to me like you need to go into Mail, then Preferences, and check your outgoing mail settings for this mail account.  If you're not sure what they need to be, you can probably get most (if not all) of the information you need off of your iPad or iPhone.
    I've seen it happen where the settings are correct and things still didn't work.  In that case, usually reentering everything in the Mail settings resolves the issue.

    "Your email account" means to tap on the name of your email account. Whatever it is listed as in the settings.
    In my mail settings, one of my email accounts is a Comcast account. I tap on the Comcast name and it brings up this window.
    Then I tap on the arrow under the Outgoing mail server smtp setting to get to the next window.
    In the resulting window, I then tap on the arrow next to the smtp server under the Primary Server setting.
    That brings up this window in which I check to make sure that my user name and password have been entered correctly. If those items are missing, enter them in the appropriate fields and then tap done.

    You don't input the information in manually for iCloud mail. It is automatically set up for you when you sign into iCloud via System Preferences and choose the Mail checkbox. Sign out of iCloud or deselect Mail in iCloud preferences. Open Mail's preferences and choose accounts tab. If iCloud account still exists in the list, delete it. Sign back into iCloud or check the box for mail. The account will be auto created for you.

    UDPATE:
    Spoke with Express lane, and issue was escalated.  Kudos to the support guys that handled this one (Brian and Yi).  Went through everything in detail and took all the crash dumps off the iphones and ipads to send to engineering.
    After backing up the contacts, the recommendation was to delete all contacts in  iCloud.  Doing that caused my iCloud to crash (in the browser), so more crash dumps were sent to apple.
    Eventually got all contacts deleted, then did a resync.  Looks like IOS devices are coming back to life and syncing again.
    Also, Outlook iCloud connector has just been updated to ver 1.0.1 so i installed that on their recommendation.
    BOTTOM LINE workaround:
    1. Backup contacts
    2. Delete contacts in iCloud
    3. Delete accounts on IOS devices
    4. Recreate accounts on IOS devices.
    Hoping a real root cause can be found and real fix implemented.  This has caused me to doubt the stability of iCloud, so i will procees with caution.

    As James says, make sure that you are using the IMAP servers for your email. You will need to check the help pages for your email provider to get the correct settings in all your devices. POP really doesn't fit the needs of todays mutiple access, always on internet, so you are better off moving to IMAP.
