Ipad APN settings getting wiped when travelling to different places

Hi.. whenever i travel to different places, abroad my APN setting in ipad gets wiped off automatically..is it because of service providers network.?

You can see all of the device backups in iTunes by going to iTunes>Preferences>Devices. All of your iOS devices' backups are listed in that window and they should all be accessible when you connect the iPad to iTunes, right click on the device name in the left sidebar and select Restore From Backup. A window will popup with a drop down menu from whic you can select the backup that you want to restore from.
If you don't see the sidebar you can enable it by going to View>Show Sidebar from the iTunes Menu or by using COMMAND+OPTION+S on the keyboard.

Is it normal for iPad 4 to get warm when charging?

Both the iPad and charger get warm.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. In rare instances when using the Camera Connection Kit, you may notice that iPad does not charge after using the Camera Connection Kit. Disconnecting and reconnecting the iPad from the charger will resolve this issue.

  • My iPad mini adapter gets hot when charging?

Why does my iPad mini FireWire get hot when charging?

The iPad does not have FireWire, do you mean the USB cable?  The charger and cable will get warm during charging but should not actually be hot.  If they are too hot to handle, try a different charger/cable and see if they are just as hot.
If not, take the iPad, charger and cable to an Apple store genius bar to be examined by the technicians.

  • Does iCloud calendar get wiped when my iPad/iPhone/MacBook Pro dies or gets wiped?

I have a simple question but I couldn't find the exact answer for it.
What happens if my MacBook Pro/iPad/iPhone gets wiped (recovery or reset) by accident or dies and if I try to remerge to the calendar on iCloud?
I assume that iCould will retain all the old information and an iDevice will automatically download the calandar events from iCloud when I remerge, since it seems like the same process as adding a new iDevice to the iCloud account.
Or will it also delete all the events on iCloud calendar when a device gets wiped?

  • HT5278 Does your games and apps get wiped when you upgrade your iPad to the IOS 5.1.1

Hi I would like to know that if you upgrade your IPAD 2 to IOS 5.1.1 will all the stuff you have on your IPAD get wiped

For the sake of updating, it doesn't matter too much - but you can find it on the iPad through Settings -> About - Version. If your current version is 4.x or older, you'll have to do it through iTunes... but even if you have a newer version, if you want to be extra sure that you'll keep your data then do it through iTunes (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4623) and make sure to let iTunes fully back-up your iPad before you start the update.

  • My iPad had to be wiped, when reset up, I can't get my iBooks to download

Recently my iPad had to be wiped and rebooted. I have auto downloads on but didn't activate iCloud's account right away.  I went through the steps to activate an iCloud account successfully but my iBooks that I previously had did not download. What can I do to access them? I can purchase new books successfully, but want the old ones back

    Hi noodlesmom,
As randers4 indicated, it is not iCloud you need to be checking for the correct logon. You need to go to Settings>iTunes & App Store and make sure that you are signed on with the same Apple ID you used to purchase the books with.
The books are stored in iTunes in the Cloud, not in iCloud....a bit confusing, I know, but it's iTunes that you need to be checking for the logon part.
And for your second question, no, they cannot be stored only on your iPad. All items purchased via the iTunes Store are stored in iTunes in the Cloud.
Also, in addition to checking your iTunes & App Store logon ID, you want to go to Settings>General>Restrictions, and make sure you don't have Restrictions on. If you do, make sure that the iBook Store option under "Allow" is turned on.
    Cheers,

  • Will my hard drive get wiped when upgrading from tiger to leopard?

hello, i have a dumb question... i bought a G5 about a year ago and i would like to upgrade to leopard. i've never upgraded before, seeing as how this is my 1st mac. i was wondering if it will wipe the hard drive when i install leopard?
i was going to buy an external hard drive to back up my files (and wanted time machine, but it's only compatible with leopard)... so i guess my questions are 1) will it wipe my hard drive when installing leopard? and 2) can anyone recommend a good external hard drive with LOTS of space?
    thanks!

    imegs,
When you install Leopard, you should be presented three options:
    1. Upgrade
    2. Archive and Install
    3. Erase and Install
Most folks will not recommend the Upgrade options...too many stories of 'things' not running properly after an upgrade (like filling most potholes on a road, rather than repaving the road).
The Archive and Install option will put a new installation of Leopard on your machine, while saving all your programs and settings. I recommend this option.
Erase and install does just that- it will erase your entire HD and then install Leopard on it. Do not use this option unless Archive and Install does not work
Which ever option you choose, I highly recommend getting an external HD (firewire preferred), and backup your data to it. I'd recommend downloading Carbon Copy Cloner, and making a bootable clone of your internal HD, so that if something really goes wrong, you can at least get back to where you began (like if the power fails during a portion of Leopard loading).
I've got a couple of Western Digital HDs, and they've been trouble free. One's a 250Gb, and the other's a 500Gb. Both have Firewire and USB connections... Pretty reasonably priced at Costco. You can back up your data to it, and then, when everything seems to be running to your satisfaction, you an erase the external, and turn it into your "Time Machine" HD.
    Hope this helps,
    Bob

  • Why can't I get email when traveling?

I can't figure this one out. Everything works fine at home, but like today I am out of town and trying to connect without success. The first place I tried (where my wife is working) allowed me to put in the password and connect but I get the message there is no IP address and after a bit a self-assigned one is given and I am not connected. We tried restarting the router, but no success. Strangely enough, my wife who has a Macbook Pro also (13 inch, newer) was able to connect without a problem.
So, OK, I give up, went to a local library. I put in all the codes, connect OK and able to use Safari but cannot get Mail. If I try to, it starts but then nothing comes in after a while and gives me the symbol of the triangle with the exclamation point in it. I tried restarting but no difference.
So, how can it be that Safari works and Mail does not? In the first instance (wife's work) I could not get on at all. In the library, can use Safari. Strange, isn't it?

    Richard Pitcairn wrote:
Would it then make sense for me to change the port on my email accounts while I am traveling?
Well you could if your email provider allows other ports to be used. But then depending on where you are and how you are connectiong to the net they may also block those ports or ALL port except 80/8080.
Not sure if you are in the USA but I know for a fact most Mcdonalds have WiFi and don't really block anything.

  • BI Publisher Report Layout Get Distorted when viewed in different format

    Hi Experts,
I am facing issue while running BI Publisher Report.
The Report Layout work fine in one output format (PDF).
But when the same report is generated in different format it get distorted (HTML,EXCEL).
Could any one please let me know how to resolve this issue.
Is there any SR raised for this issue.
    Cheers,
    Andy

    Hi,
I have faced a similar issue, Finally i created a different template for each output type, and tweaked each template through trial and error till the output it provided was what i was looking for in the specified output format, I had a different template for PDF and a different one for HTML. If I used the html optimised template for PDF out, there were all sorts of alignment issues, etc.and vice versa. As for the date format, you can set the parmeter correctly using the word date format properties.

  • Will my iPad still get charged when I use my iPad with the plug in when it is fully charged?

I'm wondering if my iPad will still get charged when I use it with the plug in when it is fully charged, because some computer battery's lifespan get decreased when you use them with the plug in when it is fully charged, but is it the same thing with the iPad or does it stop charging when it is fully charged?
    Thank-you! :D

    Tommy Kim wrote:
So, it would be better to use my iPad plugged in to keep my battery's lifespan? And when I use it with my iPad plugged in, will it not charge but instead use that energy from the charger to power up my iPad?
No it is not better to use it all the time when it is plugged in. Use the battery. That's what it is for anyway. See Michael Black's post above. That will wear the battery down and the performance of the battery over time.
Use it on the battery and when it needs to be charged - recharge it. If you leave it plugged in after a full charge - it will not hurt. The battery will stop charging even if it is left plugged in.
It is OK to use the device while it is plugged in - even for a matter of hours  - but not constantly or as a rule of them.

    Try this.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up

  • My ipad is not showing the apn settings when i selected cellular data option on settings? y?

my ipad is not showing the apn settings when i selected cellular data option on settings? y?

pvonk, you were right, something was amiss. It is just a shared calendar (me and my PA) and nothing I could do would seemingly connect the iCal and cloud accounts.
Late last night I upgraded from OSX 10.7.4 to 10.7.5, as I thought that might resolve some settings or minor corruptions in the way my Mac Book was working.
This morning I opened iCal, and once again it attempted to refresh the page. And a few seconds later my iCloud diary appeared on iCal.
The moral of this issue is I think as follows.... when you check all the settings and follow all the advice, and something like this is still not working then it could be the software is slightly corrupt, so a re-install or applying an update (if there is one available) will help resolve issues.
So spot on advice, something was amiss and is now resolved thanks
