IPad: App File Sharing shows no documents?

Dear colleagues,
when I connect my iPad to iTunes for Windows and do switch to the Apps form, and click onto an App in the File Sharing area, its documents show up correctly in the right pane.
But clicking onto other several apps (e.g. 4 to 5 different Apps) the documents area no longer works and does not show any entries. Also for Apps which showed correctly before now leaves blank.
The only solution I found is to disconnect and reconnect my iPad and restart iTunes to show File Sharing documents for 4 to 5 Apps before it disappears again.
Do you have any idea?
Thank you in advance.

With iTunes 11 you can enable the left-hand sidebar via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC. Then select the iPad on that left-hand sidebar, and on the right-hand side of iTunes select the Apps tab and scroll down it, and you should see the file sharing section - select that app on the left-hand side of that section

  • IPad Apps File Sharing in iTunes - files not displaying

Are you not supposed to be able to copy files to and from your computer/iPad for apps that support File Sharing in iTunes? When I open iTunes, connect iPad, click on the Apps, scroll below to File Sharing, the files on my iPad for the apps listed do not display; ie: Pages documents, Numbers documents, etc. I am running a Windows XP computer. I'm quite certain they were showing up there a few weeks ago.

You have to tell the iPad to send it to iTunes.
Open the document you want. Tap the spanner icon. Click Send to iTunes.
Now go to iTunes, find the iPad in the left hand pane, click Apps at the top, go to the bottom of the page, select pages in the box under 'File Sharing', and you will see that document there.
Pointless feature but there you go.

Thanks for your reply. I looked in the Video app but it is empty. When I connect the iPad to iTunes on the iMac and look in  Apps > File Sharing > iPhoto, the video that I added is in iPhoto on the iPad but I cannot actually find the video in iPhoto on the iPad.

  • ITunes app file sharing not working with iOS 7.1.1

After upgrading my iPad 2 to iOS 7.1.1, I can't use the app file sharing in the latest version of iTunes on Windows 7. I first noticed it with the Kindle Reader app but confirmed that it also isn't working with GoodReader, HDExplorer, and Notability. Any ideas?

It continues to be UNREAL how Apple will release iOS software without testing it.  Yep.  They BROKE WIFI SYNC.  It no longer works on my iPhones or iPads either.  UNREAL!!!!!!

  • Deleting App Files in iTunes App File Sharing?

I recently downloaded the iphone app Ringtone Designer Pro. I successfully created a ringtone, which is great! However, I have many "practice" ringtones such that I want to delete them. The app itself does not give any option for deleting files. In the iTunes, I go to apps->file sharing->Ringtones and I see the files listed under "Ringtone Documents". However, there is no option to delete these files here either? So what can I do to delete these unwanted files without deleting the app itself?

Just sellect the file you want to delete and click the delete button on your keyboard. There will be a pop up window to confirm if you want to delete the file. Just hit yes. Then job done. Hope this helps.

  • App File Sharing? 11.1.12

  • How can I add document folders in iPad with File Sharing

    I am using Aji Annotater.
Because I have large amount of PDF files, I use File Sharing.
I want to add the entire folders and organize them as they are.
But, I can only select file by file basis. Although I can make a multiple choice, I can organize them in folders.
Does File Sharing support making folders?
    Thank you.

As far as I know you can't create folder in file sharing. However, the app GoodReader (which reads PDFs and other files) allows creating folders on the iPad and those folders show in file sharing. However, you can't access items in the folder nor add items to a folder. Same applies to some other apps which allow folder creation.

  • App file-sharing problems

Has anyone else found that there is a glitch in using iTunes file sharing with your iPad or iPhone? It works OK for me with files, but some file-sharing apps display a mixture of files and folders in the iTunes window. Some show only folder! So far I have not been able to open any folders. Double-clicking doesn't work. Right-clicking doesn't pop up any choices. I have tried dragging the whole folder to my desktop, and the cursor updates to show that copying should start, but it never does.
I have reason to believe that the files I need are contained inside them! any ideas?

No backups? I have no idea what went wrong, but you should restore the OS to its state prior to installing that app.

  • Explorer iPad App does not show map in background

    Hi,
I'm trying to use the Augmented view feature that comes with the SAP BO iPad app. There's no issue in identifying the locations, it just doesn't show the map in the background.
    I'm supposed to see something like this below;
Please see the attached image - That's all I see on my screen
    Thank you!

    Hi Alex,
SAP's corporate network blocks internet access by default and therefore I needed to configure a proxy on my iPad.
Use this link: How to set proxy server details in iPad 2
Let me know if you have any issues.
    Good luck!

  • HT1391 where is apps file sharing in itunes 11?

  • If my ipad was stolen and i havent signed up for find my ipad app will it show the device offline and pending lost mode still?

wondering if i never signed up for the locate my ipad app if it would show my stolen device as offline and pending lost mode or if that means that i did sign up for it and just dont remember?

If it is showing up as Offline and also shows Lost Mode as Pending, then you did turn on Find My iPhone. Otherwise, you wouldn't see the device at all when you went to Find My iPhone in iCloud. If someone turns on the device and connects to the internet, then your pending Lost Mode transaction will process, and a lock code will be placed on the device. It will also show up on the map to show you the location.
However, if it does not come back online, then you won't be able to track it, nor will the lost mode command execute.
    Sorry,

  • Paste in Apps file sharing

    Hi,
Since 10.1.2, we are able to paste files in compatible apps like filer and office plus. The problem is that we cannot paste directory structure including files and folder. Is this a bug? futur fonctionnality or just the receiving application that is not compatible with the full paste?
    Thank you

    Hi there thanks,
Just in case anyone else is wondering, a friend of mine sent me this reply:
    You need to edit /etc/smb.conf
You'll need to do that as an admin.
The easiest way, from the command line is
    sudo emacs /etc/smb.conf
    type your password
    edit the file, then press
    <ctrl> and x then <ctrl> and s
    then
    <ctrl> and x then <ctrl> and c
If the file, at the end you need to put
    [bigdisk]
    comment = Big Disk
    path = /Volumes/BigDisk
    read only = no
    browseable = yes
    create mode = 755
    on the command line
    ls /Volumes
to see the name the disk is mounted as.
Then stop and start windows file sharing in system preferences and the windows machine can access it at
    \\ip address\bigdisk
    Hopefully that will work!

  • App file sharing: files are displayed only the first time...

clicking somewhere else and then back to the application that you want to share files are not there any more.
I've to close and re-open the itunes in order to see them again.
itunes is running on windows 7 64bit.
    is this a bug ?
    thank you.

Hi! I have the same, exact problem. The files are displayed only the first time I look at the apps listed under File Sharing. If I look at another app on the list, the files on the one I previously checked are gone when I look at it again. Is there any way to fix this? I have a Lenovo X61s on Windows XP Professional 32 bit.
