Ipad - Apple TV streaming issues

I am having issues streaming from my Ipad and I can't have my wireless router in the same room as my Apple TV, any suggestions to solve this issue? would a repeater do the trick?

You shouldn't need the router in the same room. Repeaters tend not to work very well with the Apple TV.
Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. Networks that have inherent issues can be seen to work differently with different versions of the same software. You might also try moving the Apple TV away from other electrical equipment.

Apple tv streaming issues with netflix

Can anyone help ?
I have also used my apple tv for using my netflix streaming, for some reason i can access all the movies but when i click to watch them it states an error has occurred. I have now started using my wii u to access netflix and i have no issues. I havent changed any settings on my apple tv.

Yes, I'm having the exact same issue since the latest update. I thought it was my internet connection but it worked perfectly fine in my ipad and macbook air.
I also have 2 Apple TV's and the problem is in both of them. I really hope apple fixes this issue ASAP.
In the meantime, if you wanna watch your netflix content on your apple tv with good streaming and you have an iPad/iPhone with netflix on it. I recommend Airplay mirroring the iOS device and then opening netflix, it will airplay the video content and the iphone/ipad screen will function as a remote control with all the settings and stuff...its kinda cool...the only bad thing is that you can't turn off the iPad/iPhone screen or it will pause the movie.

Synology DS410 to iPad 4 video streaming issues

As the title says, I have issues streaming from my Synology ds410 (with upgraded 1GB RAM) to iPad 4. Its kind of frustrating as I bought the iPad thinking I can do just this.
Setup and what I tried so far
All my movies are 1080p, sitting in the movie folder on the ds410
DSM is 4.1 and all software on both ds401 and other devices are the latest ones (no jailbarake)
The syndrom is that the movie playes for ca 10 sec, so stops for 2-3 and so starts again.. and so it goes..
Router is a Thompson TWG870 WIFI Modem, cant change this one as the ISP wont allow the usage of own routers.
On Ipad I have tried all the different video settings (quality, transcoding, remuxing) but no help. I have also tried GPlayer but it keeps crashing so no use.
Any ideas, suggestions?
Anyone else who have managed to get something similar workig?

PS: Plex player is not an option as it cant be instaled on the ds410

Apple's Http Live Streaming spoecifications mention that for live streaming, client will start playing from the 3rd last segment in the playlist. So the expected latency should be around 3 times the media file duration. Keeping the media file duration too low has its own implications like too many media sgement requests to server, thereby clogging the network.

Apple TV Streaming issues

A few of my movies get interrupted while streaming from itunes to my Apple TV device. This only happens every few movies or so, and the movie will start to load and then I get an error message saying the stream was interrupted. Any ideas? Thanks!

This just started with me today. Photos and music are fine. Can change cover art of movie and it will show on apple tv. but still not playing. The only thing i can think of is that i updated itunes 1-2 days ago.

Apple TV started having streaming issues with Netflix

Several days ago my Apple TV is no longer providing consistent streaming throught Netflix. Before that, I had great streaming through all content for many months.
Issues, configuration and some actions already taken:
Video quality starts suffering, then some pauses/buffering begins.
I have tried the same Netflix account, content and network to trace the issue and found out through my Macbook Air and iPad and the streaming is excellent.
My Apple TV is connected to my ISP through an Ethernet cable at 200 Mbps (tested @ Speedtest.net)
I already restarted several times, and restored once my Apple TV.
Software is updated since it became available.
Yesterday, I found a post which recommended to manually setup my DNS to 008.008.008.008 which I did and worked great at that time, but todays problems are back with that fixed DNS and with Auto setup.
I hove someone here can help me with some further advice, or perhaps Apple very soon releases a fix. Seems that the latest update improved Airplay consistency to deliver both video and audio and not only video, but might have broken Netflix streaming.

Streaming issues MacBook Air -- Apple TV ?

Hello everybody.
Does or did anyone of you eperience the same streaming issue with an macbook air mid 12 and an apple tv3?
Only streaming from this device, any other will work proper (such as iPhone4 , iPad 2, etc.).
The issue is:
- streaming aborted
- after 30-45 mins of video streaming - video only
- apple tv not reachable
- apple tv has no internet connection / content, etc
- macbook gets very hot in the top left corner (wifi module?)
- no airplay, mirroring etc. works any more with the mentioned device
- only restar of apple tv helps
Both devices are connected via the same WIFI/router. Network type (5GHz or what ever) is unknown due to the fact that I've forgotten my router password. I thought this is where I am probably able to check some things... (I am soving my password stuff right now with my provider).
so...any ideas?
forum search and google-it did not work (for me). open to any suggestions.

You can't simply change the details.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)

I have the same issue with ATV3 and iPhone 4S. Everything works properly, no buffering issues when watching netflix, vimeo, youtube BUT when I try mirroring even a small 15sec iPhone movie it stutters and buffers and results to a choppy playback..same with larger mp4 files such as 1-1.5GB, buffers forever and never plays, I just re-encoded the same movie to 700MB and plays perfectly..
Why Apple, why?..so close..I can accept the bigger movie files issue, but not being able to playback properly an iPhone movie is funny..I recorded a movie with lower bitrate through Filmic Pro (Economy mode, up to 16Mbps)
and plays properly.
Is there an upcoming software update going to solve the problem or is it hardware related and therefore not fixable.
Please don't reply with a network related answer, by 2012 we know how to set up our networks and everything else runs flawlessly.
I'll apreciate a fast answer, we love Apple, but if it can't play an iphone movie (or a high quality movie from iTunes) it's just not up to my standards.

Apple 3.01 Streaming Issues. Why?

Just did a scientific experiment:
Setup: iMac Core Duo with 2 gigs ram. Connected by 802.11G (no N on the non core2duo). iTunes library is stored on external 1Tb drive over USB2. 80 gigs of music. Apple TV 3.01 40 gig connected to DLINK 802.11 G/N router by ethernet 100. only 10 gigs of music on Apple TV. The other 22gigs are photos.
Apple TV as it first sat today:
Apple TV harddrive is COMPLETELY full. Tried the Apple TV as it stood to stream music. Waited 2 minutes for song. Gave up waiting after screen saved kicked in.
Restored to factory Apple TV 2.0
Apple TV hard drive erased. Streamed music within 10 seconds. 1 skip during 2 hours of play, otherwise, no problems.
Updated to Apple 3.01
Apple TV hard drive still empty. Waited 2 minutes for song. Gave up waiting after screen saver kicked in.
Constants: Network Connection. Internet usage on iMac. iTunes Version (9.02). Applications running on iMac. Physical Connections on both iMac and AppleTV. iMac distance to router.
Variables: AppleTV hard drive content. AppleTV Operating System Version.
Conclusion? Apple TV streaming is not as good in 3.01 as 2.0
WHY?!?!?!?!

I was going to add, in all three steps, the Library is Primary (Winston's Nomenclature).
Also, in all three cases, the library was custom synced. steps 2 and 3 I had custom synced, but turned off everything (so I didn't need to wait for anything to sync)
Also, in all setups, the Apple TV is connected to a CRT HDTV by Component Cable

See if this helps...
Open Keychain Access in Utilities, use Keychain First Aid under the Keychain Menu item, then either check the Password under that item, change it, or delete it and start over. See if there are duplicates, should be one for Incoming & one for Outgoing.
Resetting your keychain in Mac OS X...
If Keychain First Aid finds an issue that it cannot repair, or if you do not know your keychain password, you may need to reset your keychain.
