IPad apps crash after installing iOS 4.2

After i installed iOS 4.2 almost any app crashes after a few minutes to the home screen and changes arent saved yet. Some apps handle it a bit longer, some crash right after a minute or so.
Any idea why or what to do?

Dead iPad 1 crashed when installing iOS 5.1

My iPad 1 64 /3G which has all the regular crashing abilities discussed on this forum has finally died
It crashed whilst installing iOS 5.1
It will not restart , the battery is showing critical low level despite 24hrs of charging
Can any body help ? I have tried holding both buttons several times, it starts then shuts down after showing the low battery symbol, despite being on its proper power mains supply
Does not respond at all when connected to iTunes.

Server app crash after install.

Good day everyone.
I've havn't needed OSX server on my main mashine for a little bit. But decided to install it to make use of the VPN server.
Any how I went to the AppStore and downloaded "OS X Server"
Installed fine.
Double clicked on "OS X server" in my applications folder
Get the bouncing icon then it seems to crash
Any thoughts on what it could be?

I believe the major version of OS X Server has to match to the major version of OS X.

Mail.app crashed after installing update for OSX 10.8.5.

When I open it it starts to import the mailboxes but crashes after about 10 minutes when about a quarter of the messages have been imported.
Please advise me how to restore Mail.

Do a backup.
Quit Mail.
In Finder, hold down the option/alt key while selecting Go from the Finder menu bar. Select Library. or select Go to Folder and paste in ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail. Select Containers/com.apple.mail. Move the folder com.apple.mail to your desktop. You must move the entire folder, not just the contents.
Re-launch Mail and test. If the problem is solved, recreate any required Mail settings and import any emails you want to save from the folder on the desktop. You can then put the folder in the Trash. If the problem remains, return the folder to where you got it replacing the one that is there.

You can make your user library permently visible with the following Terminal Command.
chflags nohidden ~/Library/

Pictures in Photo Library or Online are crashed after installing iOS 8

Im using iPhone 5 and a few days ago I update it to be iOS 8, what happened is that images were crashed when I zoom pictures in photo library or even searching picture online. But in the evening it was okay again until now. I don't know what happening with my phone.

Re your first point - 'Sync collections' was ticked in both the iPad and Mac versions of iBooks prior to these problems occurring.
Why have recently purchased or installed books been moved to iCloud and moved off my iPad and iMac when previously they were there in my iBooks library collections? They were books I'd read or were in the process of reading.
More confusing is that on my Mac in iBooks there are books that are fully downloaded and not in iCloud yet the same books in iBooks on the iPad are not downloaded and are in iCloud. After I sync this hasn't changed. To my mind this means that sync isn't working properly or that maybe iCloud has somehow been activated on one device and not on the other?
Why should I have to re-download books that were already present in my iBooks library on Mac and iPad prior to my upgrades to Yosemite, iOS 8 and the iBooks apps?
I have to reiterate that I do not and will not use iCloud and for 2 reasons: it is not secure and Apple uses push marketing to make it difficult for you to not use it.

IPad 1 unresponsive after installing iOS 5?

Not even a week ago, I downloaded the new iOS 5 for my ipad 1. At first it was fine, but after a bit of usage, it would suddenly turn itself off or restart for no reason. Eventually it kept happening more frequently and more quickly. Now it won't turn on at all, it doesn't register in my itunes when i try to sync it to my computer, it is unresponsive when i charge it and it doesn't respond when I attempt a hard restart. I'm pretty sure it's due to iOS 5 because it only started happening after I installed it, so what should I do to fix it? It's still under AppleCare warranty, should I go instore?

Why does my iMac crash after installing ios lion?

I bought my iMac 21 in 2010 and it crashes due to the lion softeware. It's not a Kernal Panic crash but after I leave it on for awhile the wireless keyboard and mouse are frozen, I can't even wake it up after hitting the space bar. Is there a setting in Lion that turns off the bluetooth after awhile? How can I fix it?

I would reinstall Lion, preferably from scratch if possible.
Reinstalling Lion Without the Installer and Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alterhatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You can also re-download the Lion installer by opening the App Store application. Hold down the OPTION key and click on the Purchases icon in the toolbar. You should now see an active Install button to the right of your Lion purchase entry. There are situations in which this will not work. For example, if you are already booted into the Lion you originally purchased with your Apple ID or if an instance of the Lion installer is located anywhere on your computer.

IPad randomly freezes after installing iOS 7 - in the middle of watching a video. Touchscreen often very sluggish.

Updated iPad to latest version of iOS7 and really wish I hadn't. touchscreen suddenly very sluggish ... I can press something several times for it to "take", some apps suddenly close for no reason, video is doing strange things too - audio will keep playing but the picture isn't keeping up with audio. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

If no joy...
Reset all settings
Settings > General > Reset > Reset all Settings.
This will return all iDevice settings to factory defaults... you will not lose any data.... But you will have to re-enter all of the device settings.

LG Ally - Apps crashing after install of Upgrade Utility for Ally

I was pushed down the "upgrade utlitly for Ally" after that an OS upgrade was pushed down but never successfully installed. I don't want to do a hard reset as I don't know if the system will just push down the utility again.
I have had nothing but problems after OS upgrades and have had to do multiple hard resets and have not had the phone for even a year.

@beverlyann76 Thanks for posting. I can certainly understand the troubles that you are having downloading the Upgrade Utility App for Ally. I did do some research on this and it seems the best way for the app to install successfully is to do a manual install. You can install the app here. Hope this helps. Thanks.

How do I recover a lost password safe app icon after installing ios 7

I rebooted twice and the second time worked. This seems to have resolved the issue.
