IPad Audio Problem after iOS 4.3.2 Update
Had no problems with my iPad prior to iOS 4.3.2. Now, I have lost audio on most of my apps (ABC Player, HBO, Jumbline2,) but not on Netflix, iPod, uTube, etc. Restored device and deleted affected apps to no avail. Called AppleCare and they told me that since I had audio on other apps the problem most likely was that the affected apps were not compatible w/ the new iOS and to wait a few days for updates. It's been a week and still no updates. I don't see any posts talking about the problem I have. Anyone else having this problem?
I too had this problem. I had no idea why my audio quit working. I tried the troubleshooting here and figured out I had accidentially moved the switch by the volume control button on the side. I've been going 2 weeks without audio on most my apps. I changed the side switch to Lock Rotation, but still had to slide the side switch back and forth one time to get it to unmute. Yes, it was simple to fix, once I knew what I was doing wrong. oops : \

I am using the generation 1 IPAD.
I recently updated my ios from ios 4 to ios 5.1.1, I did the restore after the update and all seemed fine as it was detected the first time.
I tried connecting the IPAD again but it shows that the computer, itunes is not able to detect the IPAD.
I checked on the device manager, it identifies an unknown device (IPAD) and says no software for the driver. I am using windows 7 on my laptop. I never had any such problem with the iso 4. Any suggestions as to how this can be solved?
Thanks,
VinayThank you, I tried uninstalling the device driver to reinstall again. After doing the scan for hardware changes, nothing flashes on the device manager. I dont see anything related to the IPAD or any other device for which driver shows unidentified device. It is as though the device is not being seen by the computer at all..
I even tried flashing the home/sleep buttons together but that doesnt seem to identify any device either.

Email Account Problems after iOS 5.0.1 update on iPad 2 &; iPhone 4
After finishing the iOS 5.0.1 update - I have noticed none of my email accounts are working (i.e. Error saying Incorrent Password or Username).
I have deleted the associated accounts and added them once again, verifying both username and passwords as well and now it will NOT verify any accounts on both. Still no luck on both devices.
Odd that both devices email accounts stop working after the new update?
Anyone know of a fix/problem?
Thanks!Same problem, this happens with any Safari site that requires a user name and password to log in ... frustrating! I have also posted this issue and will be stopping by Apple on my way home ... I'll let you know what I find out.

IPad Mini stuck after iOS 8.0.2 update: How do I recover my data?
I purchased an iPad Mini with Retina display just before leaving on vacation 2 weeks ago and used it to take 100's of pictures.
While waiting for my return flight home I decided to apply the iOS 8.0.2 update. WHAT A MISTAKE!!! Now, my iPad is stuck in Recovery Mode and won't boot up. I tried different utilities (Mac FoneLab, RescuePhone, iPad Data Recovery, iFoneBox, ReiBoot), but none of them worked.
What can I do to recover my pictures? I have no backups.
Note: I set a simple passcode on my iPad. So, I think my data is encrypted (but I'm not sure).
Thank you in advance
-- DanielYOU ARE IN RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)

Audio problem after ios 7.1 in ipad air
After updating to ios 7.1 in Ipad air I got the following problems.
After watching a movie via the video app and switching to home screen, the keyboard click sound is muted and also the lock sound is.
I tried for the solution by resetting my device 5 times but his didn't work.
Please let me know anyone has this kind of issue...Please report to Apple to fix this issue in next update.Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430 It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. That same switch, right above the volume buttons, can also be set to function instead as a mute button to silence certain types of audio.
If the switch is set to work as a mute button, you can change its purpose to “screen-rotation lock” by tapping the Settings icon on the home screen. On the Settings screen, tap General on the left side, and on the right side of the screen flick down to “Use Side Switch to.” Tap to select Lock Rotation or Mute to set the button’s function. Even if you set the side switch for your preferred use, you can still mute the Mini or lock the screen. Just double-click the Home button, and when the panel of apps appears along the bottom edge of the screen, flick the row from left to right with your finger. Tap the icon on the far left side of the row to either lock the iPad’s screen or mute the iPad’s alerts, notifications and sound effects. Music, podcasts and video are not muted unless you turn the volume all the way down.
iPhone: No sound or distorted sound from speaker
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts5180
iPhone: Can’t hear through the receiver or speakers
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1630
http://www.atreks.com/app-no-sound-on-ipad-4-%E2%80%93-what-to-do/
To solve some sound problems, just follow these simple steps
1. Go to Settings
2. Tap on General
3. Tap on Reset
4. Tap on Reset All Settings
What this effectively does is to reset some of your Settings to factory default. It’s not a complete removal of settings. It removes all of your preferences for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Do No Disturb, Notifications, General, Sounds, Brightness & Wallpaper and Privacy. It doesn’t affect your data. All of your email accounts will remain intact, as well as any SMS text or iMessages.

IPad 2 problems after iOS 7 update
HAve been searching forums for weeks now!
REsets have limited resolve so if anybody has any other suggestions here goes:
APPS either freezing or logging out constantly ( youtube worse with changing login details to another account I have) when apps load then definition effected with blurred images.
INTERNET connection often blocked. WIFI says connected but then get a message "no network"
iPad generally slow with keyboard taking several seconds to appear.
Mail no content!
REsets all been tried - used to favor iPad over everything else but now so frustrated with it.
SUggestions ?After updating to 7.3 iOS on my iPAD 2 we didn't put a passcode, just skipped that step, and now it has some passcode and we don't know it!! It said to connect to itunes but when I do I still can't fix it because itunes said that we needed passcode to start. What the heck was Apple thinking not seeing this coming BEFORE releasing the update?? I took it to Best Buy and the Geek Squad said that they couldn't do it. I'm so mad.....anybody else having this problem? Please help if you know how...

iPadFirst, Thank you for the support that you are given me related to this situation, but you have to understand my reluctance to accept that this is not a IOS problem because all the six / seven have the same problem.
(five minutes after)
I tested a new connect using WEP and I coul connect with problem. When i try to use WP2-PSK, no connection. This situation in both technologies(Cisco and Alcatel) -
Gmail problems after iOS 7.1.2 update (blank mails)
Since updating my iPad Air to iOS 7.1.2 this week, I notice that my emails are retrieved as blank light gray mails. No subject, no contents, date always 01-01-01, etc...
I already removed my gmail account from the iPad and installed it again, but without any effect. The first time I retrieve my email after reinstalling works fine, but the second time, etc.. It's the same story...empty mails. The same thing happens when I re enter my password for the gmail account in the settings menu from the IPad. The first time it works ok, but then the story repeats...
When using the Gmail app everything's seems to work fine!
I suppose its a firmware bug?
regards,
RenéI'm having a related problem. Since shortly after updating my phone to ios 7.1.2, gmail is not working properly. Seems emails are bypassing the actual inbox(es) and going straight to the All Mail folder (which is for archives). I do not have any filters set up in gmail or any forwarding and had not changed any of my settings in gmail. This is happening on phone, laptop and ipad.
I read a forum where someone was having this issue and changed their archive mail settings on the phone to archive only on the phone, not the server. That apparently worked for them, but I tried this and it hasn't seemed to make a difference.
I have about 6 emails feeding into gmail so I NEED them separated. Fishing through All Mail trying to find things I need or am expecting is not ideal. If anyone has suggestions, please feel free to pass along.

How to Fix iPad Calendar Crashes after iOS 5.0.1 Update
Please help if you understand this technical mumbo jumbo. Absolutely nothing I have tried is able to restore a functioning Calendar on my iPad. Calendar crashes every single time as soon as it opens and is completely UNUSABLE. This not some third party app. This is APPLE'S own Calendar APP. You think it should work with their own OS but apparently not. I am extremely ****** off.

versionI did - sort of. I realized that obviously there was some calendar invite or meeting I received from a source (in this case Google) that was causing the app to crash. Here's what I did;
Made backup of iPad in iTunes
Disabled All calendar syncs
Re-enabled one at a time, checked iCal, and if it crashed I found the offending account causing it (in my case - Google)
Went to my google account to find whatever meetings I had there, made manual note of them, then deleted them from Google.
Went into iPad, turned on syncing again for Google calendars, then checked - no crash (and no meetings, either)
Added in via the iPad the meetings that needed to be there to alert me
I know - it's a pain in the arse - but I think I narrowed the problem to be some people sending me invites with .ics files generated from Lotus notes and forwarded to my gmail account, where I add it to my calendar from there. I have yet to have an Outlook/Exchange invite sent to me that crashes my iPad. What I've done since then while I have an Exchange account:
Create a personal calendar in my Outlook (which connects to an exchange server)
I get the invite in my gmail account
I access my gmail account from my Outlook (just add your gmail as an IMAP account)
Add it to the PERSONAL calendar I previously added to Outlook.
When that syncs - it works like a champ
If you're not using Outlook at all, I would think the first 6 steps would apply. There is an option in "Advanced" under iTunes sync at the bottom that says to delete all calendar information on the iPad BEFORE it updates all the meetings. You may want to do this too in order to make sure the offending entries are whacked.
Hope this helps. -
Any problems after ios 5.0.1 update
please list the problems that you are facing while using ios 5.1 on your ipod touch 4g
My iPod is stuck on the "connect to iTunes" screen, is not recognized by iTunes, and I have spent the better part of a day trying everything that has been suggested, including going through all of the support site's steps, to get it back in action... I might have to take a trip to my local apple store but would prefer not to have to! Any other tricks???

Imessage problem after ios 5.1.1 updating directly from device.
My iphone 4s cannot receive imessages and send messages only as emails after updating to ios5.1.1 directly from the device(not with itunes). In the imessage section , to the part where my number is , it says that has an error. Any help??
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
If that does not resolve, basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved. -
I have Audio problems after 6.1.2 update. What do I do?
Is anybody else having audio problems after updating to 6.1.2? How do I Fix it?
No problems here.
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. -

Problems with sound from external speakers after iOS 5.0.1 update
Have others experienced problems with external speakers on the Iphone 4 after iOS 5.0.1 update? My phone no longer rings, sounds when i receive a text message, sounds alarm, etc. Vibrate works fine and when i plug in headphones I can hear music through the headphones. Any fixes for this?
Hi Guys,
I have post eariler on another forum and I have the same problem, I have tried all the things listed here and nothing was perminant in fixing this painful iphone hating problem.... and failed. You probably have the problem when you use youtube or your music external speaker that there is no volume bar and no sound. I have had the same problem But I need to happily say that I now have the fix!!!! This worked for me and I fixed it by myself so you don't need to go to apple or service centre or anything.
Ok I like so many of you here truly believed this was as IO5 issue as it only dropped the sound on the speakers once that IO5 update came along. I tried a bunch of reset, reboots, home clicks, lock and unlocks, to fix this and all failed. some worked for an hour but then failed. hours of my life that I will never get back. but since I have learnt this is not a IO5 problem but a hardware issue! ... and in paticualar is has to do with your bottom connection. Your phone is thinking it is docked all the time.
To fix the no sound problem what you need is...
1. a torch
2. a tooth brush
3. methalated spirits
4. a butter knife
Step 1.
get your torch and shine it down the bottom connection plate to see what kind of dust, sand, hair or anything you have stuck in there. all that need to be removed! everything! it might look clean but still thats ok go to step 2.
step 2.
Turn on your music app and put the speakers on! If your phone is like mine it should not work. you most probably don't even have the volume display to turn it on but its ok, just do it! and it should still play with no sound. its important you try and run the speakers as this will show you that it is a hardware problem.
step 3.
Dip your tooth brush into some methated sprits. then at your sink tap the exess metho out of your brush as you just want the brushes to be slightly damp, not soaking wet and then scrub the bottom connetiors on your iphone. work the brush back and forward in a way that scoops the dirt out of the phone, not just pushing it side to side.
(As you bushing you should notice the volume bar come back on or off as you scub. This happened to me and that is how I realised I was on the right track to fixing this problem as I was doing something external that was actually controling when the volume display came on or off. but once I cleaned it this still didn't fix the problem...)
Step 4.
Use the back side of a butter knife (not the sharp side) to gently slide over the connectors on the iphone. Do this gently as you are only pushing down on the tiny metal contect bars and you should notice the volume display come on again. slide it back and forward. Now the area of interest is about 2/3 along the connection plate to the right. This is the area that has the infomation sent when your iphone thinks its docked.
This has worked for me and I have not had a problem since I did this 2 weeks ago. I have since learnt that the new IOS 5 has activated a different part of the bottom conectors. if you have been using dodgy connectors or unapproved apple cables (as I was) any damage or hair and dirt on the terminal this is effecting it. Try it. just remember if you can do something external to your phone then there lies the problem.
Hope this works for your phone as it did for mine.
Cheers
