IPad battery life meter stuck at 100% since 5.1 install

My iPad 1 battery life meter has been stuck on 100% since the 5.1 update, even though I have used it for many hours and done a power cycle a few times. Update was done through iTunes.

I guess I spoke too soon...
Doing the reset took it from sticking on 100% to now being stuck on 98% for the last 4 hours. Is there a known problem with the 5.1 update and the battery percentage indicator?

  • HT4993 Battery indicator stuck at 100% since update to iOS 6

Since I have update my IPhone 4S to the iOS 6 operating system my battery indicator is stuck at 100%. I know that I should have used battery life since it has been over 24 hours since it has been plugged in.  Has this happened to anyone else and how can I fix it? I have trued resetting the phone and also tried resetting it when plugged in.

    It HAS to be hardware..
I made the appointment, thank you.
I consistently close all apps, keep my brightness down, keep wifi off when not in use, and location services. Reset my phone and still the battery drains so fast!
It appears to be messaging, and Facebook apps, and safari that are the leading cause..
If I send maybe 10 texts, I'll easily lose 4-8 % battery. I literally watch it drain in front of my eyes.
Roughly a minute of Facebook, safari, or mail consumes 1-2%.
That is faulty hardware, or software..
Either way it's apples fault. My phone is mint! Never been out of this otter box except to wipe dust off and when I charge it..
I charge regularly. Let it die down before charging, and let it almost completely die then fully charge it once a month too.
I hope apple repairs my battery, or software

  • My battery life at a full 100% charge is about 2 hours 22 minutes (backlight and key lights at lowest level). Should I go complaining to Apple or do I just need different software?

My battery life at a full 100% charge is about 2 hours 22 minutes (backlight and key lights at lowest level). Should I go complaining to Apple or do I just need different software? I've only had my mac book since August 2011. The battery dies in 2 to 3 hours with some web surfing (little video play) and photo editing etc. I really don't feel like taking my computer all the way to the apple store to wait there for 5 hours to hear that I need to call someone blah blah blah. Any advice? (BTW Safari hasn't been working since I last updated my mac, WHYYYY?)

Make an appointment at the genius bar, that way, you wont have to wait. http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/

Can you identify the symbol using the above guide?
(Note that I am a representative of the organization of the above link, which is not endorsed by Apple).
Just a friendly comment that the list described on this link is incomplete.  If you are a rep of the site, you should update it to include additional symbols, such as the personal hotspot icon, the LTE icon, and the bluetooth device battery level icon.

  • Battery meter stuck at 100% Power Source: Power Adapter even when unplugged

For the past few days my Macbook Pro has been saying it's plugged in even when it is not. The battery meter stays at 100% even though the battery is draining. The other day it died while I was using it and gave no warning that the battery was low. The battery meter on the side seems to show the correct battery level, however.
Is there any way that I can reset whatever runs the battery meter?

    Reset the System Management Controller:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
If that doesn't correct it and you still have waranty coverage, take the machine in for service.

  • Battery life indicator stuck!

Others have posted about a problem similar to mine but I haven't found a solution yet...The indicator of my battery life always says 81% and has the symbol of being plugged in even when it's not. Plugging it in doesn't help, and I've also tried changing the energy settings. It's unsettling not knowing how much battery power I have left and I'm reluctant to mess with the computer by actually taking the battery out. Any suggestions?
    MacBook   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

If the indicator is "stuck" like this even when the magsafe adapter is not plugged in then there's only one or two things you could try.
First off, rest your PMU, it has to do with a lot of hardware recognition, and does have influence of battery recognition.
    PMU reset: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303319
Beyond that, if the issue is still unresolved I'd recommend taking the computer to a local apple retail store or service provider to try popping in a different battery. Obviously if this resolves the issue you can just call applecare and have them send you a new battery. If the issue remains with a new battery then you're looking at a hardware issue with the machine and it'd have to be sent in for service...unless its been 14 days or less since you bought it and you can return it.
Either way, if the issue persists with a new battery then call applecare and explain the entire situation and you'll get fixed up one way or another.

  • HT4528 I have no battery life in my iphone 5 since the iOS 7 upgrade.  I have completed all suggestions to help increase the battery power and now I can't use my phone more than 4 hours without the battery dying. What is the solution?

I have no batter in my iphone 5 since upgrading to ios7.  I have talked with verizon techinical support and completed all suggestions to maintain the battery. And by the way, these suggestions are annoying and limit phone use as well as require you to close out each application after use, also turning off wi-fi and blue tooth. I don't need this phone if I can't use the features for which it was purchased! Any ideas?  Is there a fix coming soon for the battery? Can I return my iphone for my old droid?
    Help!

Hi! I don't what's happened for your phone but, you can have more battery life with turning of Wifi, decries brightness, turn off location service and etc. also you shold use less Free+Much Ads apps becuase they use more battery than paid apps normaly.
for more informations about battery normal life see here.
I guess it's not a normal issue. so connect to Apple Care or wait for a better answer...

  • Bluetooth keyboard and maximizing iPad battery life

I bought a new Bluetooth keyboard with my iPad. It drains the ipad's battery noticeably faster. Anyone have tips for max battery life using a Bluetooth keyboard?
    Blessings,
    Patrick.

to get better battery life with any device you minimize its power consumption
    1. minimize your brightness
    2. turn the wifi off if not needed
    3. turn bluetooth off if not needed (in this case duh, but this is for everyone else who has the same question, but not limited to keeping BT running always)
    4. turn off some applications (in this case on the ipad it means, don't listen to music while doing something else, thats really the extent of the multitasking right now.
    5. some applications just hog more power, they werent developed as energy conscious, keep in mind what apps were designed with a portable nature and what were designed with an around the house nature

  • Can my blue tooth keyboard affect iPad battery life?

For some reason my battery life isn't as long as it once was and it hit me that it may be from leaving the blue tooth keyboard in the on position.  Would this run the battery down more quickly?

My experience with using a BT keyboard is that it has a negligible affect on battery life. The connection drops if I'm not using it for a while and picks up again when I start typing. I am using a Logitech keyboard designed specifically for iPads.

  • Battery life is only few hours since 5 days

    Hi,
One of my colleague and I have some problem with the battery life since 4 or 5 days. After 6 or 7 hours without call or extra activity, the battery is empty. We don't know why. We have something like 8 Bold 9700 in the company and only two have this behaviour since 4 or 5 days.
I have updated the system with the latest version, but no changes.
If you have an idea or a solution, you are welcome
    Regards
    Franck

    Hello Franck
In addition to what Bill said, you may also consider the location where the phone was since you mentioned that the problem happened the same day for two phones. If those phone happen to exert more effort to get coverage to sustain themselves, they lose more battery life faster.
You may check one of the threads I posted here.

  • Battery meter stuck at 100% on Ipad 4

I tried resetting and it worked the first day. Second day it didn't work, downloading a battery app fixed the problem that day. Third day nothing works and is really annoying.
What could I do? Is this a software problem?
    Thanks a lot in advance.

This has happened to me a couple of times and rebooting or restarting the iPad eventually cures it for me.
Try a combination of things like plug it into the wall socket to recharge for a few minutes and then uplug it. Reboot the iPad again and see if the indicator starts working again.
Power the iPad down for about 10 minutes or so, restart it and see if that helps.
Just start experimenting with things like to see if you can trip the gauge back into working properly.
Of course you could try resetting all settings as well. Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings. If you do that you will have to set all of the preferences again in the settings app.

  • Battery indicator is stuck at 100%

After I upgraded by BB Z10 to 10.2.1.2102 / 2141, the battery indicator always shows 100%. Even when battery is getting depleted. Downside is that the phone suddenly shuts down when it's battery is completed discharged. Before shutting down it moemtarily shows the battery indicator color as red (empty), beeps and shuts down.
Have tried a number of things like taking battery out while charging and replacing, deleted a number of apps but no use. I think its an OS problem.

  • 3rd Generation iPad Battery Life

My New iPad does not seem to hold a battery charge as well as the iPad 2.  Is this normal?

How big a difference are you seeing? Personally, using the two iPads in the same basic way, I'm down about 5% more at the end of the day with the new iPad. So instead of ending a long day of use with about 35% charge left, I'll be left with 30%. Based on my own experience and that of a few other people I know who replaced the 2nd generation with the newest one I'd say anything more than 5-10% bigger drain would be cause to contact Apple.

  • Battery Life Meter is defecetive

    Hello,
My macBook was working great for the past 4 months. Today, I encountered a problem. The MacBook would not turn on. I plugged in the power adapter but the battery icon in the top left was at FULL. It said that there was 1:31 left until it is full.
However, when I pull the cord out of the MacBook, it immediately shuts off as though it has no power. Anyone have an idea of what the problem is.

Have you calibrated your battery at any point in that 4 month period? Although, I guess it's hard to calibrate at this point if it shuts right down when you pull the power. Just curious. When you push the button on the battery, how many of the LEDs light up?
