IPad battery not charging
My ipad is about 9 months old, used daily, and this evening developed a 'not charging' message in the top corner (next to the battery icon) with an intermittent message flashing on the screen saying that 'charging is not supported with this accessory'. I do regular battery calibration (every 6 weeks or so) and have had no recharging problems.
Is this a visit to an Apple store or something fixed at home?
I recently started experiencing the exact same issue. For the past year I have been using my ipad the most in my office. I have it set up on my desk with the usb cable and an older wall outlet cube from one of my first iphones and it would be left charging all day. Everything was working perfectly until a few weeks ago. When I would plug the usb in, it would initially give the the charging indicator, then it would display the small power plug graphic as if it was fully charged, then it would switch rapidly back and forth between 'fully charged' and 'charging', and would finally end up saying 'not charging'. Shortly after that, the message would appear that 'charging is not supported with this accessory' even though these are all Apple parts. I tried several different cables and had the same results. Finally, I decided to switch out the charging outlet cube itself, and that did the trick. Now it charges exactly like it is supposed to with no issues. I hope this works for you because it sounds like we are dealing with the exact same thing. I was also concerned that I would have to take it in for repair or replacement, but fortunately, one of the simplest solutions worked. Good Luck!

After trying to download ios 7, iPad will not charge, will not open and will not connect to itunes. Sometimes, screen will switch from Apple logo to low battery notification, but doesn't look as if battery is charging.
Connect with cable to computer. Your ipad is in recovery mode.

How are you trying to charge it, via a computer or the wall plug ? If a computer, then a lot of computers (especially older ones) generally do not provide enough power to their USB ports to charge the iPad at a sufficient rate - it may still be charging slowly, and should be a bit quicker if the iPad's screen is off (if you leave it for a while and then disconnect it from your computer you may find that it's battery percentage has gone up). The wall charger is usually the most efficient way to charge the iPad.
If the wall charger then have you tried a reset to see if it charges after the iPad has restarted ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
If that doesn't work then have you tried a different charger and/or cable ? Do you know anybody else with an iPad so that you can try their charger and cable and they can try yours ?
And for info typing in capitals is considered SHOUTING. -

If it still doesn't charge then have you tried a different charger and/or cable ? Do you know anybody else with an iPad so that you can try their charger and cable and they can try yours ?

I have had my iPad for 6 months. We recently had a power outage and my iPad was plugged in with the adapter that came with it. Since then I can not charge iPad with adapter, however I can charge it SLOWLY on my computer. Do you think the adapter got fried? Also do you HAVE to have iTunes with an iPad, they were charging me alot of fees for games I did not download NOR give my password to have them downloaded so I cancelled iTunes because fo too many fees. Well, something's definitely wrong if it won't charge from a wall outlet. Make an appointment at a Genius Bar or take it to an Apple certified repair provider.

When you plug into a computer, it may say "not Charging", but it will charge but slowly. If this is the case, the cable is good. Therefore, the wall charger must be defective.

I have all the right connectors and I'm get the Not Charging message when I plug it in to charge. it worked at the Amsterdam airport, but now in Greece it doesn't. Using the exact same connection in Greece, my wife's iPad 2 does charge correctly. Does anyone know why it's not working for my iPad 3? Amsterdam and Greece use the same outlets, can't figure out why it worked at airport but not here.

My iPad2 suddenly stopped charging with the AC adapters (all 3 that I have). It will charge with the computer USB port, very slowly.

My ipad 3 went from 5% battery to shutting down. On attempting to charge it up, it gives the icon on the screen of a depleted battery, and after a few minutes the apple logo appears, and after which it turns off. Pressing any of the home buttons or sleep/wake button simply repeats the cycle. I have changed chargers, wall socket, attempted to charge via computer but to no avail. On one occasion, it got as far as briefly showing my home screen before shutting down again. Note that I have kept it plugged in for 12 hours now.
Suggestions?Could be the charger, cable or iPad. Plug the USB cable into your computer. It may say "Not Charging", however, it is charging slowly and will verify that the cable is good.
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. Ipad does not charge on being connected to a computer or itunes. please help
On connecting to the computer, ipad is not charging. it syncs with itunes and gets updated but just wont charge on being connected to a computer ( I am using a windows Pc). Please help. However i have an iphone that charges perfectly with the same comp and the same itunes.
any suggestions are welcomeThe iPad requires more power than the iPhone to charge it (it's wall charger is 10W as opposed to the iPhone's 5W), and a lot of computers (especially older ones) generally do not provide enough power to their USB ports to charge the iPad at a sufficient rate - it may still be charging slowly, and should be a bit quicker if the iPad's screen is off (if you leave it for a while and then disconnect it from your computer you may find that it's battery percentage has gone up). The wall charger is usually the most efficient way to charge the iPad
