First, if you are not doing it already RELEASE both buttons as soon as the Apple appears. If that doesn't resolve the problem Restore the phone from Recovery mode. See: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808.

You are posting on the wrong forum, this forum is for Intel based iMacs. A 2002 G4 would be a PowerPC machine, please post on the correct forum. My guess though is the HD has packed up and crashed.

That will depend on the kind of album your photo is in.

When you edit your photo, the edited copy is added to the automatic "edited" album and the view switches to he edited album. But the photo should stay in its original album - do you see something different? Only if you want the edited photo in the camera roll and the photo strea as well, you have to save the edited copy to the camera roll again after editing, otherwise the camera roll will show the original and not the edted version.

Right. But as I understand it, the aGPS is a function that speeds location using cell signals, but isn't necessary for the GPS signal. I can buy a plugin device that is a real GPS that I can use with my iPad mini. However, I would need an app for maps. I was wondering if anyone had used one of these.

When you reset to factory settings, the computer is de-authorised.
In iTunes menu Store > View Account > sign in > App Store > Deauthorise All.
Once done, authorise this computer iTunes.
Note: you can only do that once a year.

Thank you for your questions/advice. The answer for your 1st question is yes, and "may be" to your 2nd question. Fortunately, I had exported the recently developed photos into my external head drive. After reverting back to the original catalog, I have re-imported those developed photos. Now everything is restored. I need to learn more about the subtleties in using the Lightroom.

my ipad ceases to function normally and i was unable to use email and no contacts were displayed. logged on my computer and there was an update due attempted the update and it failed. now ipad has apple symble in black screen with loading indicator running has been like this over 1 hour

With it connected to itunes, select Restore.
If it will not let you, disconnect the iPad, press and hold the home and power buttons for ten seconds, until the apple appears. Then, after it restarts, restore it.

Froze on Blue Screen with Apple and loading bar

My Ipod Touch was updated wtih new updates. It is now froze on a dark blue screen with an apple on it. Then a loading bar with nothing loading. I can't get it to turn off, or anything. Not sure what to do next.

did you try to reset the ipod by holding the sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes up again? If this is not working, connect in recovery mode and restore.

Just get to make sure I'm understanding correctly. The iPad 2 can connect to the internet and the web just fine. I also read another post stating that Mobile me awhile back was having issues with the find my "ipad/iphone/ipod touch" functionality.
I'm not sure about this but if your not a mobile me user don't you have to sign up for the "find my ... service"?
Can I assume you did that too?

The following is how to do a proper reset of an iDevice:
Device Reset (won't affect settings/data/music/apps/etc)
1. Press and hold (& continue to hold) BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button.
2. Continue to hold BOTH (ignoring any other messages that may show) until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
3. Release BOTH buttons when you see the Apple logo and allow the device to boot normally.

HT1414 when trying to restore my ipad gen 1 it hangs on "Verifying ipad restore with Apple" then returns an error 1602

I have tried to restore my ipad gen 1. When it gets to the Verigying ipad restore with Apple" it seems to hang then returns the error 1602. I have the black screen on my ipad so cannot get to the shut down bar. The ipad has not been tampered with or jail broken. it suddenly would only show the apple symbol for 5 or so seconds then go to a blank screen and then 30 or so seconds later show the apple symbol again. This only happens when plugged into its factory charger.

You log into the App store using the same Apple ID you used to set the computer up, verify that none of your apps are hidden and that they have all be accepted and then download and install the update
