IPad calendar app

Is it possible to create multiple calendars in the iCal calendar app on the iPad?

Not direct with the iPad's Calendar application.
The iPad is designed to be synced with a supported application on your computer for contacts and calendar events. The contact Groups I've created with the Address Book on my Mac and the different calendars I have with iCal on my Mac are available and kept synchronized with the my iPhone's Contacts and Calendar applications, and the same applies to the iPad.
Long story short, this is done with the supported application on your computer used for syncing contacts and calendar events.

  • Custom repeat option in the iPad calendar app

Why is there no custom repeat option (i.e. repeat an event every 1st Thursday, etc.) in the iPad calendar app?

There's a $0.99 app called Calendar Event Pro that adds all the custom repeat and alert functionality to iPad Calendar. It works with the native Calendar app so you don't have to have a separate calendar.

  • Why can't I set a second alert on my iPad calendar app?

Why can't I set a second alert on my iPad calendar app? I can set two alerts per event on the iPhone version, but the iPad version doesn't show the option that pops up after entering a first alert on the iPhone.

You are talking about the forward, back, mail and trash can icons in the Notes App - correct?
I've gone through restarting it and followed the instructions from the person last week.
Have you restarted the iPad - is that what you mean? Have you quit and then restarted the app? Quit the app, and restart the iPad. It's worth a try.
Double tap the home button and your recent apps will appear at the bottom. Hold down on the Notes app icon until it begins to wiggle. Then tap the minus sign to quit the app. Then tap the screen. Now restart the iPad.
Carolyn explained this above (restart) but here it is again....
Hold down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and slide to shut off. Hold down on the sleep button until the Apple logos appears then let go of the button and the iPad will restart. See if that helps.

  • How can I sync my iPad calendar app with my iPhone calendar app?

I use my iPad calendar app a lot. How can I get the info on the iPad app to sync with my iPhone (it's the same calendar app). Thanks in advance for the help.

I guess there are a few ways to do this. I make my iMac the "home" for calendar and contact info. I make sure it is current and accurate. I sync my iPhone and my iPad2 to it frequently. If I enter new calendar data on the iPhone or iPad when I get home I sync them to the iMac to be sure it is current.
We use BusyCal at home so all our Mac's are automatically synced to one another and we sync our mobile devices to the computers. So I sync my iPhone and iPad to the iMac and all of them have the same information.
We do not use Mobile Me or another other web based service for calendar syncing since we feel that give us less control and more complexity.

  • IPad calendar app day view does not update to "Today"

Everyday when I open my calendar app in day view, it always show the last date when I view the calendar. It does not automatically switch to Today's date. In other words, if I open the calendar yesterday dec 24, when I open this morning dec 25 the day view still show Dec 24. The icon did change to 25 and Dec 25 is marked blue which means it knows that today is 25. However the day view still show 24. Can anyone please tell me what do I need to do to make the day view automatically update to whatever today's date is? Should I returned my IPad?
    Pleaseeee

No one ever used the calendar app? Can someone please tell me whether or not my calendar app working correctly or do I need to get replacement for my Ipad (4th generation)?

  • Ipad calendar app can use w stylus?

Looking for a calendar app I can use a stylus with, i.e. so I can write my appts, notes etc right on the calendar in my iPad. Any ideas? Thanks!

I typed out a long workaround and then I remembered that Upad, which is a great stylus-note taking app, has built in planners which you can annotate with handwritten notes.

  • My iPad calendar app crashes immediately after being opened. Running iOS5.

I have updated my iPad to iOS5 and for several days I have not experienced any problems, but today I started having a problem with the calendar app.
I can open in and see that it is day view, but I can't get it to respond to any actions before it closes in just a few seconds.
I have rebooted and resynced, but the problem still exists.
I downloaded a third party calendar app and it works just fine, but it only loads my gmail events, none of my me.com/iCloud events. I would appreciate any recommendations on what to try next.

Me too. Has been a major problem since latest software launch. It's extremely irritating.

  • IPad Calendar App cannot add google calendar

I have just purchased an iPad Mini 3.  Have added google account but for some reason the google calendar does not show in the calendar app.  It works fine on my iphone.  In fact, in the "settings" page of my iPad there is no "default calendar" line, although there is one on my iphone.  Anyone have any ideas how to add my google calendar to the native calendar app on the ipad?
    Thanks.

    Problem solved!!
As I mentioned I tried everything I could think of to fix it, but nothing worked. But in a desperate attempt I did a factory reset of the device, and skipped everything I could and jumped right to setting up my Google account. And suddenly it showed up!

  • Can't add/modify/delete events from iPad calendar app after updating to iOS-5

Ever since I upgraded the OS on my iPad, I haven't been able to delete/modify events on the calendar app. I have to do it on my Mac first then sync my iPad to it. How do I fix this. Can't delete Calendar app & reinstall.

Have you restarted the iPad? some have reported that restarting it, by holding down the sleep and home key until you see the silver apple, can resolve the issue.

  • Accepting Invitations inside iPad Calendar app

I hope to see the possibility in the upcoming Firmware 4.0 to accept or decline event invitations inside the iPad calendar application. It would also be nice if the iPad could (like the Mac with Mail.app and iCal.app) automatically add an event invitations i got per mail (including .ics files) to the ipad calendar.
I've to use iCal on my Mac to accept an invitation and have to wait till mobileme syncs this info back to my ipad.
btw.: dont forget to add "iPhone OS 3.2" to the dropdown menue here in the forum.

I agree this is most needed, but also for the iPhone & iPod touch devices. They should also allow changing what day is the start of the week (instead of being stuck with Sunday). iCal actually allows you to have the week view scroll by day, so you are always looking at the next 7 days, versus some dates in the past.

  • Ipad calendar app error

How can somebody else's event end up on my Ipad calander app? Different time zone, unknown event and definitely not anyone in my family who use the app. This seems simple; however, if this event was put on my calendar in the cloud then I think that is a problem.
    Thanks for any info

    Hello 7cyrus,
It may help to uninstall, then reinstall the application from the App Store.

  • New iPad Calendar app and E-mail, Calendar and Contacts setting crashes

The Calendar app has just started to crash. I cannot open the app at all, not even after forced quit. Tried to remove the calendar in the Settings app, but noticed that the E-mail, Calendar and Contacts section also hangs. What to do? It works fine my iPhone.
    Thankful for any help.

  • ICal to-to syncing with iPad Calendar app.....

Why is it still missing!?!??! I tried using the to-do feature in AppleMail and all I got on my .mac account on my iPad Mail was useless mime attachments...no way to edit or mark it completed.
Also, who's ridiculous idea was it to migrate the to-dos from iCal to Mail? Why would anybody want to go to their Mail app when scheduling tasks? I can't refer to my Calendar in Mail, and AppleMail on my iPhone and iPad don't to have support for it either. I switched years ago from Entourage to iCal for my scheduling precisely to avoid this sort of silly disconnect.
Are there any plans to support to-do item sync from iCal on my Mac and any of Apple's mobile products in any useable fashion? If syncing to-do data with iPhones, iPads, etc is not going to be supported then why even have it in iCal in the first place?
Seems very un-Apple-like to not have this functionality after waiting for it for 2+ years now. This appears to be decidedly Microsoft-like to me: Un-user-friendly, to say the least. What's up?

It hasn't been migrated or switched to Mail. It has been incorporated with Mail which you don't have to create there if you don't want to. You can create a To Do in Mail - receive an email that provides or reminds you of a To Do to create, which will be available in iCal automatically, or create a To Do in iCal only if you prefer switching applications in order to do so. A To Do created in Mail can be stored locally on your computer's hard drive, or stored on the server with a MobileMe account.
Support for syncing To Do's hasn't been provided yet, which may have something to do with including Tasks with Outlook and being able to sync between the two for this data as is available for contacts and calendar events for those who sync this data on their Mac and with a Windows PC. Maybe this will be included with firmware 4.0 to be announced this Thursday.
Are there any plans to support to-do item sync from iCal on my Mac and any of Apple's mobile products in any useable fashion?
Since this is a user to user help forum only, doubtful if any fellow users know what Apple's plans are. If they did, they wouldn't be allowed to say until Apple makes an announcement, or until a firmware update is released that includes the option.
If syncing to-do data with iPhones, iPads, etc is not going to be supported then why even have it in iCal in the first place?
Because To Do's have been available with iCal long before the iPhone and iPad were released?

  • Is it possible to open a PDF from the notes section in the iPhone/iPad calendar app?

If it's not possible, do you know if there is a third party app that can accomplish this? I am an administrative assistant and it would be very helpful to attach PDF documents to my boss' calendar in Outlook so then he could access it from his iPhone/iPad at meetings. As of now, I email him the required PDF documents before his meetings so he can then access them using iBooks. Any advice would be most appreciated.

Not directly as an attachment, but you can put a URL.  A web link.
E.G., a dropbox file link might be quick and easy.  It's how I would do it.
