IPad Calendar editing defaults to Cupertino time zone

When I go to edit a calendar entry on my iPad of an event that I created previously in Outlook on my work PC, the time zone becomes Cupertino, CA during the calendar event editing process.  I live in the Chicago (Central) time zone so the calendar event is moving back two hours when I go to edit any detail of the calendar entry on my iPad.  Yet when the calendar event entry is created on the iPad, it always remains in the Chicago time zone even during editing of the event details.  Has anyone else run into this and have found a fix for this?  Thanks.

I have two iPhones, a 4 and and 4S.  The 4 is my personal iPhone, the 4S is for business.  When I create a new calendar item in my 4 the default time zone in the Add Event dialog is ALWAYS Cupertino. Both phones are set to Timezone = Set Automatically and return New York (I'm in Charlotte, NC).  When I set the time of an event in the calendar on the 4 I set it with the local time zone start and end time.  But when it is saved it reverts to Cupertino time.  Fortunately, the reminders pop up correctly for my local time. My issue is that the same process done on the 4S saves the start and end time of the event as local time NOT Cupertino.  Why does the 4 iphone behave this way.  It is super frustrating.

  • IPhone 4S Calendar Event Defaults to Incorrect Time Zone

My iPhone, Win7 PC is set for Eastern Time. I use Outlook/Exchange and the Outlook calendar in Options is set for Eastern Time as well. I never had any issues until recently. My iPhone syncs with the Exchange server using ActiveSync.
A few weeks ago I was out west and changed my Win 7 O/S time zone to Pacific Time. I did not change anything in Outlook or on my iPhone. The iPhone has always been set for “Set Automatically” (Settings/General/Date & Time). Also, in Mail, Contacts and Calendars my Time Zone is Set for Montreal (where I live) with Time Zone Support “On”. I have never changed this from the day I got the iPhone. Whenever I travel the time zone automatically switches. When I came back from the west coast my phone switch back to Eastern as it should and I manually set the Win 7 O/S to Eastern as well.
Now for some reason, when I create a calendar event in Outlook (i.e. on the desktop) the event shows up correctly on the iPhone (example: a meeting for tomorrow at 2:00 PM Eastern shows up as tomorrow at 2:00PM on the iPhone). However, when I “edit” the calendar event on the iPhone, the time shows up as 11:00AM and the time zone is Los Angeles (3 hours apart from Montreal). You can just imagine how this is causing me havoc as I do business in different time zones and have to reschedule meetings often.
I have tried to set the time zone to something else and then back to eastern or Montreal. It makes no difference. When I create a calendar event directly on the iPhone the default time zone is Montreal and it shows up correctly on both devices.
    Any ideas what’s going on?

    Hi Song&DanceMan,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
Issues with calendar time zone can be very frustrating. It sounds as though the Time Zone Support feature may be affecting these events. Please use the attached article for more information on Time Zone Support.

  • Why does calendar automatically use gmt when entering an event time? I have Cupertino time zone selected everywhere.

When entering a new event onto the calendar on my iPhone 5C, I select a time (in my time zone - which is selected, as far as I can tell, in every place it appears as a choice). The event shows at the selected time and a second later the GMT time shows in parentheses underneath the event title. When I go to edit, the time appears as GMT. I can change it in the edit screen and it works, but how can I get it to automatically show the right time - as it has done until I installed the latest upgrade.
    Thanks.

    Hi b_e_sutton,
You may need to disable Time Zone Support in Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

  • IPad calendar appts stuck in military time

I'm working on an iPad 2. My issue is with the calendar. The calendar itself is set in standard a.m./p.m. time, but it has reset the appointments to military/24 hour time. This can't be corrected by turning off 24 hour time, because its already off. If I am looking at the "day" calendar with the split screen, the right hand side shows the day laid out by the hour, in standard time, but on the left, the appointments are shown with military time. So if I am in the monthly calendar and I click on an appt, it will show "13:30 pm to 14:30pm" but when I go to edit the event it shows starts 1:30pm to 2:30pm. How can I fix this glitch?

    Settings > Date & Time > 24-hour time -Off.
Also you might want to check time zone settings, and go into International and check the Region Format. Then do a reset of the phone by holding the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. That will restart the phone. This should correct it.

  • Is my iPhone calendar reading from the wrong time zone? How do I fix it?

First, here is all the info that I have about all of the clocks on my phone: the date and time on my iPhone are set automatically to Vancouver's time zone, in the Clock app though, I've also added in the clocks for Seoul and Manila so that I know the time when I need to contact friends out there, etc. Location wise, everything else on my phone is fine: my map correctly shows where I am, the weather app shows the weather for my city and my clock changes automatically for daylight savings.
Now, when I put in an event into the calendar app, while putting in the details such as start and end time, the Time Zone slot is always set to Seoul for some reason. I have to go in and change it to Vancouver manually. Even after doing this and setting everything though, the alarm always goes off at the wrong date and time - I think it' s going off at when that time reaches Seoul, not Vancouver. So then I tried setting it again, this time, leaving the time zone as Seoul in case things were somehow just 'backward' in my phone, and still the alarm went off at the wrong date and time.
I really can't understand it and haven't got the faintest clue as to how to fix it. Any ideas??
In case this better or further explains what I'm trying to say:
I just opened a new event on my calendar. I set it to begin twenty minutes from now (5:20AM) and left the ending time as the default one hour later (6:20AM). I also did not change the time zone which is already reading Seoul for whatever reason. I hit done, I'm taken back to the main calendar page, and there it shows as it should: 5:20AM today. I then went to set second event for 5:15AM only this time, I changed the timezone to Vancouver. All the information looks correct, but this time, when I hit done and am taken to the main calendar page, that event is recorded as having been set to 21:15PM instead!!
[ I have an iPhone 4 but...I don't know what CDMA or GSM means so I'm not sure which pertains to me...]

Go to Settings>Mail, etc.>iCloud and delete the account. Then add in a new account with the details you want.

  • IPad calendar showing duplicates half the time

My iPad iCal shows duplicates of about half my calendar entries.  My calendars are Google calendar delegates, and I've never had any trouble with them syncing across my Macbook, Google account, or Android phone.  I do not use Mobile Me, and I have calendar syncing turned off in iTunes, so they should be syncing wirelessly through the google delegate.
So why does my iPad show duplicates half the time when my Macbook/phone/google don't?  Why are there duplicates only half the time?  How can I fix this without manually deleting and re-entering every event that shows up in duplicate?  (I can't just delete one of the duplicates - deleting one erases both.  If I re-enter it on my Macbook, it shows up as just one event, but it's a lot of work to do all of that manually).

  • Calendar app stuck on another time zone.

I left Nigeria for Kansas, U.S. that's 6 hours behind so I changed the time settings on my phone to KS time zone but the Calendar app on my 3GS doesn't seem to understand that. When I create an event for, say, 8 PM today (to be notified at that time), I get a notification at 2 PM today—6 hours before the intended time. It's like Calendar thinks I'm still in Nigeria. I've been all over Settings and I can't figure it out.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks.

There is more than one place to change time. If you set the time to local, you need to go into Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendar>scroll down to the bottom under calendar and set the time zone support there for the local time zone.

  • IPhone Date & Time keeps changing to "Cupertino"  time zone

    Hi
Every time i change my Time Zone in Settings>General>Date & Time to "London,United Kingdom" it correctly changes to "London" but if i exit Settings and navigate back to Time Zone settings it has changed to "Cupertino".
This effects World Clocks and other apps which is most annoying.
I have firmware 2.0(5A345) installed on the iPhone. Is there a way to upgrade this? Will i lose all my current data if i do a firmware upgrade? Will it even fix the issue?
Please help, there are currently 2 options I have. Find a fix or move to Cupertino so that my iPhone displays the correct time.
Is there a less drastic option?
    Thanks in advance!

If i do that it states that i am running the current version. Maybe because it is a revision and not a proper update.
My twin brother also has the the version that you have (54347).
Apparently it updates the firmware when you do a "Restore" through itunes but that will wipe the phone clean of everything. I don't mind doing this as long as i can transfer my backed-up content but if i do a "Restore from backup" to tranfer all my settings etc i have a feeling it will revert it back to the firmware that the iphone was running when it was backed up. Hope that makes sense!
    Thanks

  • Calendar entries updated when changing time zone (...

Can somebody please explain to me the use of this option?
It is logical you make your appointments on the local time no? Because of this stupid option, I almost missed an important job interview. Is there any way to turn it off? Or can the next update change this, cause I really do not see the point of that other than causing confusion
    thanks

This is by design.  Check Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Time Zone Support.  Turn it on to undo this behavior.  Anyway, read what it says there - it describes what you have seen.

  • Calendar (OS X Mountain Lion) Time zone

I am using Mountain Lion on a MacBook Pro 8,2 (Early 2011 15"). I have set the time zone to be Malaysian Time in Calendar. However, it shows "Singapore Standard Time" on all my events, past and present. I find this highly annoying because I would like to see my own time zone even though these two zones have the same time. This represents a bug to me. I have tried toggling time zone support on and off multiple times and nothing seems to work. I cannot recall having this problem with Lion. Is there anything I can do?
I know it's nothing but a pet peeve, but I think it's fair to expect the computer to work exactly how I would want it to, especially in such a simple matter, after paying a great deal of money for the OS and the machine.
    Thank you!

there must be a way to integrate this within calendar??
Not in Mountain Lion.  Not on the Desktop app anyway.
If you have an iCloud account, the Caledar app at www.icloud.com displays reminders.

  • E72 calendar mtg created in USA time zone appear o...

    Hi
I am located in Malaysia, and I sync my e72 with my desktop PC here.
My USA colleage created mtg on his Outlook Calendar in his USA time zone, and list me as attendee.
Both Calendar are on the same server and appear properly on desktop PC.
However, my e72 calendar show the mtg appear on the next day. Synchronized with ovi-suite.
Is this a problem with e72 or ovi-suite?
The Nokia local support in Malaysia and Singapore say this BUG is a FEATURE. There is no way to fix this. It is customer's mistake and problem to buy this device.
I believe all software problem can be fix. Can someone help?
    Thanks and rgds

    Hi ajwh
    Good to see your reply.
Allow me to clarify the problem
Yes, the Outlook feature can show the the appointment, which was created in USA, in my Malaysia local time zone properly; example 8am Wed.
However, this same appointment show up in e72 calendar as 8am Thur.
I have no plan to be in USA and will just pick up this international video/phone conference at my local time.... problem it show up on Thur.
Yes, this e72 is my first Nokia smart phone.  I have been loyal Nokia phone user since year 2000, having used 5 phones.
I have been using 2 HP iPaq PDA (no phone) since yr2001. I changed to Nokia because HP stopped selling PDA in my country. Yes, I have been synchronising the HP PDA with Outlook with no major problem like this.
The IT guys in my office says they have to put zero support and zero budget for Nokia recently because of cost. I have to find outside solution.
    Regards.

  • ICloud calendar not syncing in correct time zone

Basically, I live in Australia & I have a subscription to a with all the Manchester United fixtures on in the UK. on my Mac the time zone changes are all correct, but as soon as I view the entries on my iPhone 5, they appear in UK time. I've already set my time zone to Sydney (AEST) on my iCloud account. Not sur

I had the same issue, it annoyed me for quite a while, and I couldn't find a solution on the web.  I then looked at "Settings --> Mail, Contacts, Calendars --> Time Zone Support" and saw that it was stuck on the wrong time zone there (which coincided with the time zone my calendar was in).  I switched off Time Zone Support and switched it back on: that corrected it.  I then returned to my calendar app again, and it was in the correct time zone.  That solved it for me.

  • Editing a calendar event always changes time zone to CDT

Whenever I create a calendar event in my iPhone or iPad, it is always created with a time zone of "New York".  It always syncs to my other devices and displays them correctly.   However, whenever I edit the event on another device, it always brings the event up in a time zone of "Chicago" and the times are one hour earlier.
For example, I create an event on my iPhone that starts at 11;00am and defaults to the time zone of "New York".  This is what I want.    However, if I try to edit the event on my iPad, it shows the event starting at 10:00am and the time zone is "Chicago".
This was a problem when I had an iPhone 4s using iOS6 and iOS7.    I now have an iPhone 6 on iOS8, and am still having the same problem.
    Any ideas?

I was wondering if anybody else has run into this problem.   I've tried everything and cannot figure out how to solve this.

  • Embarrassing UTC time in iPhone/iPad calendar

    Hi,
I sync my iPhone6 calendar with Gmail.
I currently have a problem with the iPhone calendar. The event contains the good times , however, placed in the box of the event, the time is displayed in UTC so with 2 hours ( or 1 hour in winter ) less (french time). When I click on the event, the time is displayed in UTC and local time.
This is very annoying because you have to edit the event in Paris instead of hours utc for the display again become normal .
All French users under IOS8 have the same problem. We talk more and more about in forums.
    This appeared with IOS8 .
How to remove this UTC time in the event's content?
Should we wait a consideration of the issue by Apple and wait for an update ?
    Thank's for your help.
Screenshot Ipad, but like on Iphone.
    Thank's

Had all the same issues mentioned before.
Though not mentioned here, people have said that going to isync and resetting the history under preferences may resolve the issue. In my case where it was also 4 hours off this solution on this page worked for me. Barry, when you say that Time Zone support is on (under settings | general | time and date) What do you have it set to ? That is by default it has Time Zone Support On. However beneath that, you have to type in manually where you want it to be set to. I searched for Washington DC and selected that. (Which matches what my computer has set to) This fixed the issue. Also make sure Time Zone Support is on in iCal (as you already did)
So just add whatever city your computer is set to in the iPhone and that should do the trick.

  • Calendar Entries - Time Zones

I just did the software update for my Q10. Now, it is only displaying new calendar entries in my home time zone even when I create them while traveling and I properly designate the current time zone (note--with the new software it "defaults" to my home time zone so i have to change it manually when traveling).
For example: My home time zone is central time. I am current in the Pacific time zone. When I go to make a calendar entry for, say, 2 pm and manually select Pacific time, it nevertheless displays as 4 pm. When I open the entry, it says that the entry was "created in Pacific time but is displayed in local time" (which is obviously not correct--my time zone is auto-updated for Pacific time).
If it matters, I am on an enterprise server.
    Any thoughts?

    Hi,
iCal does have time zone support. Go to iCal's Preferences > Advanced and select 'Turn on time zone support'.
You can then select the time zone an event is in when you create or edit it. You can also switch the time zone you are viewing as in the top right of iCal's main window.
You cannot have an event in more than one time zone and for flights I suggest you make one event for the departure and another for the arrival.
    Best wishes
    John M
