IPad calendar missing "+" button to add appointments.

I have a friend who just got a new iPad 2 but it doesn't have the "+" button in which to add appointments with. Is there something in the settings that needs to be turned on?

+If you select the right day first, you will be able to enter new entries in the right window.+
I have no clue what that means in this instance. I can select any day and still add an event - I can go back to August and add an event and the + sign still appears in the app .... But maybe I am missing something .....
@EDL2 try these simple things - none of which would I hold out hope for - but try them anyway. My reason for doubt is that a number of users have reported the missing + sign in the calendars app and I have not seen a fix yet.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Quit the calendars app and restart. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus (-) sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
The last thing you can try - if you are using iCloud- go to iCloud.com and sign in. Select the calendar and try to add an event there. You must do this on a computer, BTW, not on the iPad. Then go to the iPad and see if the button appears.

  • Custom master page branding is missing buttons to add Web Parts

    I've created a custom master page which does not display the "add" or "cancel" buttons when adding web parts to the page. These elements are controlled by CSS tags such as: .ms-wpadder, .ms-wpadder-cell, .ms-wpadder-buttonArea, .ms-wpadder-zoneArea, #s4-ribbonrow
    among others. I have attached a screenshot on my SkyDrive account
    SharePoint Master Page Screenshot
    which displays the web part objects but not the buttons to add them to your page. The cells of the #s4-ribbonrow are red .ms-wpadder-cell have been colored orange for display purposes. Here is some code I am experimenting with to solve the problem
    #s4-ribbonrow{background-color:red !important; padding-bottom:50px !important;min-height: 43px; max-height:200px; overflow-y: hidden;}
    .ms-wpadder-buttonArea .ms-wpadder-zoneArea{padding-bottom:50px; background-color:aqua;}
    .ms-wpadder-cell{min-height:220px !important; background-color:orange;}
    .ms-wpadder{padding-bottom:50px !important;}
    #RibbonContainer{background-color:transparent;}
    body #s4-ribboncont{background-image:none; padding-top:150px;}

    Hi Pivotal,
    I think you use other style, because I apply your style on v4.master but this hide all ribbon
    panels, anyway I think your issue related with
    body #s4-ribboncont
    padding-top: 150px;
    Try to decrease or remove padding-top.
    Hope that helps a little

  • I can't add appointments to my calendar

    I just got my first iPad and I can't add appointments to the calendar. I asked a friend and apparently there is supposed to be a 'plus' sign in the lower right corner, but there isn't one. Am I doing something wrong, or is there something wrong with the iPad?

    Go to settings>iCloud>Calendar>On - then turn it off - if you do not want to sync with iCloud. If you do want to sync with iCloud - leave it set to On.

  • TS3999 Ipad calendar suddenly wont let me add appointments

    ipad calendar will not let me add appointments, my iphone calendar works fine.  Any idea what I do?

    Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
    Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPad shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
    Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).

    Thanks for the suggestion. Sadly, that did not fix it. I changed the sync setting as you described, but I still don't get my older events. I have turned my IOS devices off and on again too. One more piece of information, the only events I see for October are recurring events. Either one day events like birthdays set to repeat every year, or events within the month that spanned more than one day. No one time events or appointments are showing.

    Hi,
    You cannot manually manage music with match turned on on your iOS device. If you want to manage music manually, you will need to turn off match on your iPhone.

  • Where is the calendar share button on iPad?

    Instructions for sharing calendars in iCloud says to press the Share button to the right of the calendar. However, my iPad calendar has no Share button to the right of the calendar. What is the procedure on iPad?

    Hello Vickfromtx,
    Thanks for the question, and welcome to Apple Support Communities.
    The following resource will instruct you on how to share a calendar with others.
    On an iPad (with iOS 6.x), tap "Calendars" in the top left corner. Tap the blue arrow to the right of the calendar you wish to share, then choose "Shared with: Add person…"

    UDPATE:
    Spoke with Express lane, and issue was escalated.  Kudos to the support guys that handled this one (Brian and Yi).  Went through everything in detail and took all the crash dumps off the iphones and ipads to send to engineering.
    After backing up the contacts, the recommendation was to delete all contacts in  iCloud.  Doing that caused my iCloud to crash (in the browser), so more crash dumps were sent to apple.
    Eventually got all contacts deleted, then did a resync.  Looks like IOS devices are coming back to life and syncing again.
    Also, Outlook iCloud connector has just been updated to ver 1.0.1 so i installed that on their recommendation.
    BOTTOM LINE workaround:
    1. Backup contacts
    2. Delete contacts in iCloud
    3. Delete accounts on IOS devices
    4. Recreate accounts on IOS devices.
    Hoping a real root cause can be found and real fix implemented.  This has caused me to doubt the stability of iCloud, so i will procees with caution.

  • I want to use my calendar with iCloud for some appointments so they show up on my iphone as well. Some appointsments should just be local on my iPad. How do I do it?

    Hi there.
    I have an iPhone and my wife has an iPad. We both us the same Apple ID. She now updated her calendar and all her appointments show up on my iPhone as well, which is great cuz of iCloud. But some appointsments are just for her that I don't have to receive on my iPhone.
    How is it possible that she can put appointments for both of us in the iCloud calendar, but appointments only for her on her local iPad Calendar and vise versa. Is it possible?
    Thanks a lot.

    Thanks for your help.  Since I'm uninterested in loading all my photos (the only option) into photostream, I won't be able to use the settings in ATV.  I guess I'm just stuck with using iPhoto on my MB Air.  Thanks again.

    I embedded a pdf in an Outlook appointment on my desktop.  The appointment synced with my iPad calendar correctly but the pdf did not come through.  Did I miss a setting on my iPad?
    Thank you

    Then your family members will probably have bought their ipads with a data plan from some phone company like AT&T in the States. Maybe they even got it "sponsored", because they bought a data plan with it.
    If you bought your "iPad only" from a hardware seller, you will have to get a data plan from some phone company. Seems like you only bougth the hardware! You can still use your ipad, however, and if you have an iPhone, you do not even need a sim card in your iPad, because it can use your iPhone's data plan.
    That is what I did. I save the extra money for the 3G version, because with an iPhone 4 there is no need for an own sim Card in an iPad.
    But that is another topic.

  • My iPhone 4s worked fine at 9am. At 9:30am all my contacts were gone. I got most of them back.Numerous other issues with my phone now. Send button sometimes grey. Can't add appointments.There is more. Help??

    I got most of my contacts back, but there was no rhyme or reason for which ones were dropped. I literally called someone and had no problems. The phone was on my desk just sitting there. About thirty minutes later, I got a call from my wife and it didn't show her as a contact, just the number. That's when I realized all my contacts were gone. I retrieved most of them, but many are still not there. I did the latest update before all this happened. Now, I can't add appointments, I can't text some people, even after I add them to my contacts again, and I've got no idea how to fix this issue. Thanks for any help!!

    Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon).
    Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)
