IPad calendar problems in March 2013

My calendar works great until I want to view March 2013 in the monthly format then it just shuts down.  I can view April, May, June 2013 etc in the monthly format but not March!  I can view March 2013 in a Weekly, daily and yearly format but not monthly.  Why?  Can anyone help?

Many thanks to King_Penguin who solved the problem. It appears to be caused by an 'all day' event entered for the 1st April 2013. I have a repeating all day entry for every Monday (including 1st April). I deleted the entry for the 1st April (this event only) and re-entered it as a single timed event and the problem disappeared.

  • HT2693 Apple Calendar - when selecting March 2013 the app shuts down.

Using Apples calendar app on my ipad 2, selecting March 2013 by any means available causes the app to shut down, can anyone help resolve this problem. I have tried all fix suggestions from Apple to no avail.

Do not use All Day event. It is due to Daylight saving around that time.
    It's a known issue.

  • Calendar closes immediately - March 2013 month view

There is something wrong with calendar on my iPad.
I changed it to month view for March 2013.  Now when I open it, it opens but then closes right away.
I have tried to press the day button as it opens but it closes too quickly.
I have turned the iPad off and on again and closed calendar from the bottom line after sweeping up to make line appear.
All no good. Any ideas how to fix it?
    Thanks.

I guess my response made no sense if you cant open the calendar. Sorry about that.
You would have to make the change on a computer and then sync the change to the iPad. Or if you are using iCloud, you could make the change on your computer and that would sync the change over the the air with iCloud.
If that's not the reason why the calendar is crashing you can try resetting all settings. Or you can try rebooting byholding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time until the Apple logo appears on the screen.
Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.
If you do have an all day event on April 1st and you can make the change from Outlook on your computer - or whatever you use - and then sync again - that would be the best way to go about this.

  • IPad Calendar problem

I use Yahoo Calendar, which synchronises with my iPad.  However, appointments I input in Yahoo appear in iPad Calendar on the following day!  For example, if I put in an appointment for Monday 4th March it appears on Tuesday 5th March in Calendar.  Any ideas as to what I can do?

Try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.

  • HT1338 iCal on my iPad will not display March 2013 in the UK. It is ok in the US.  Any ideas?

iCal not displaying March 2013 only in the UK. Any ideas as to why?

It's the Tory cuts. March has been cancelled!

  • Calendar Closes when March 2013 month view selected

I would be grateful for help solving my problem with Calendar.  It appears to be working properly, but if I select 2013 and then try to open March in monthly view, the application closes. No matter what I try I cannot get it to open the month.  Any suggestions?

I've removed every entry on 1st of April and I've changed all All-Day events in March, but it is not working for me.... :-(
March still makes the calendar app crashing on my iPads (iPad 3, iPad mini).

  • TS1702 Ipad calendar problem.

I have a new ipad but when I tried to go to march on the calendar the app crashes, if I go to April I can go forward but if I go backwards to march it crashes again. Has anyone else seen this problem.

    Here's perhaps the best discussion.
Make sure you remove any all-day events, especially on April 1.

  • IPad calendar problems when syncing with new operating system

I downloaded iOS snow leopard to my computer and then when I performed a sync with my IPAD the calendar got messed up with several old appointments and things cluttering it up.  Is there a way to revert back to what I had before I performed the sync?

    Hi Techno bozo!
You should see if you have a backup of your device in iTunes. If you do, you can restore from that backup and get the correct information as it was at that time back onto your iPad. This article can help explain a little about restoring from a backup:

  • To cure the March 2013 monthly Calendar problem I amended my All- Day events for April 1 to timed events on my iPad.  Now the Calendar does not load at all on the iPad, but still OK on iPhone 5.  Any suggestions please?

In order to cure the problem on my iPad of the month of March 2013 only causing the Calendar to close, I amended all "All Day" events on April 1 to timed events.  Now my Calendar will not open, although my Calendar on an iPad 2 and on iPhones 5 & 4 work perfectly.  I have tried turning iPad off/on, but no effect.  Any ideas please?

I'm having the same issue with my 3rd gen iPad too. I always viewed my calendar in month view. It won't even open since it's stuck on month view.
I've quit the app (properly closing via taskbar) and re-opened - crashes immediatly.
Quit the app and rebooted (via holding home/power buttons until restart) and opened - still crashes immediatly.
Anyone know how I'm able to get access to the app so I can change all day events to timed events in April. Is it just April 1st or all of April? I haven't even opened my iPhones iCal yet to see if it's having the same issue.
Also, not sure if this will work but iCal on my mac wireless syncs my calendar events. I'm wondering if I change April 1st all day events to timed events whether it'll sync and fix the issue of crashing?

  • The calendar app locked itself out when I tried to view March 2013 on iPad

The calendar app on my iPad 2 will not let me view march 2013 in the month view. It switches itself off whenever I attempt it.  Any idea how I can resolve this problem, please?  It is quite ok if I go for the day, list or even year viewing option.

  • IPad-Calendar I cannot view the month March 2013

In iPad-Calendar I cannot view the month March 2013, the calendar crashes. To view the week or the day, no problem, but the month is not working.
iPad III, latest updates on iOS installed.

Try removing any all-day events from the calendar for the 1st April 2013 e.g. if you are syncing the calendar from somewhere else (e.g. Outlook on a PC or iCal/Calendar on a Mac) then change it to a timed event instead of all-day - it seems that there is a problem with all day events on that date which is when the clocks change due to daylight saving.

  • What is it about March 2013 in Calendar on my iPad?

I'm trying to organise a big trip nect March. I put in a couple of dates and then the screen returned to Home. The app was still in the dock so I opened it again and it opened to 'Today'. Since then I've been unable to go to March 2013 without the same thing happening again. I can go to the months either side of March wih no problem, or years ahead, it's just that month!
I've tried hard rebooting of the iPad, syncing and trying to sneak up on next March from behind but nothing works so far. Can I reinstall it? It's all OK on my iMac, so I'm able to continue planning, but it's a pain!

I did find the information under another post here https://discussions.apple.com/message/18331098#18331098.
It seems this issue is reposted multiple times but I'd originally navigated here via the first link off a Google search. Another user posted the following as a resolution:

The reason is the daylight saving time change the weekend before 1 April 2013. This problem affects ALL all-day events on Monday 1st of April.
We reported this bug to Apple, and hopefully they will fix the bug in the Calendar app soon.
Other apps like CalAlarm, miCal, Week Calendar do not suffer from this problem.
    Workaround:
Please edit all-day events on 1 April 2013 in the week view. Either remove the event or change the all-day event into an appointment event, starting for example 12.00.
This would explain the problem but not offer a real soltution in my case. I have multiple shared calenders enabled, some of which I cannot modify. Regardless, using week or day view is a simple workaround, but still it's irritating.

  • IPad Calendar crash when trying to open March 2013

Everything I try to open March 2013 in iPad calendar it crashes. It is okay if I sneak through each week or go day by day but will not allow me to open the month of March! Any solutions?

Try removing any all-day events from the calendar for the 1st April 2013 e.g. if you are syncing the calendar from somewhere else (e.g. Outlook on a PC or iCal/Calendar on a Mac) then change it to a timed event instead of all-day (if you don't sync your calendar from anywhere then try going into list view, go to 1st April and change any 'all day' events to times e.g. change Easter Monday to start at something like 4am) - it seems that there is a problem with all day events on that date which is when the clocks change due to daylight saving.

Anybody with same problem or having a solution?

  • IPad calendar won't open march 2013 in month view; just this one specific issue, everything else works fine. I've reset to factory but it still happens.

    Hmm.....
New iPad, not been fiddled with in any way. When I use calendar, everything is fine except when I try to view march 2013 in month view, whether by switching to "month" from a march day view, or by moving from another month already in month view.
The application just closes down. No issues with data loss. No issues with same calendar data on my mac or iPhone.
I've reset to factory setting and restored but it persists.
    Any thoughts?  Thanks, Andrew.

The workaround for this is to remove any all day events from April 1 or change from all day to something other than all day event.
The update to iOS 6.1 is supposed to have fixed the bug according to some of those that have posted today.
