IPad calendar won't stay open

I got up this morning and I can't keep the calendar open. I rebooted the iPad to see if that would fix it and it didn't.

try and reset all settings.. settings> general> reset> reset all settings

Calendar won't stay open and turns off after one second

after a recent applications install my calendar won't stay open for more than a second and can't be utilized. I've reset and restored. What next? I'm suspicious that the restore is using the same corruted file. Can I rsetore from my Time capsule?

Restore "as new", as opposed to "from a backup", if you haven't already. I'm surprised a reset didn't solve the problem.

IPad Mail Won't Stay Open

Thank you everybody! But I have solved the problem on both iPad and iPhone by deleting the email account and then setting it up again. I had it on to display 200 emails and once it reached that I could not erase as mail would not stay open. Does anyone think that this is a glitch in the iPad??
Once I deleted the account it got rid of all the emails and I am starting fresh again. Of corse all the emails are still on my computer!

Ipad calander won't stay open

Tried opening my calander on my ipad 2 today. It attmepts to open but within a second closes back to icon screen. Have turned off ipad both by convention and via a hard shut off without success. However, when I turn off calendar in iCloud settings, I am able to open the app. When I turn it back on, it fails again. Anyone have a clue or process to correct what I am missing. Thanks. Alan

Having the same problem. I can open Calendar with iCloud disabled. If iCloud is turned on, Calendar opens and immediately crashes. Any ideas?

IBooks on iPad, book won't stay open

One of my books opens then is dropped in a few seconds. The others work normally. What to do?

It appears as though this book may be corrupt. You can try several things but if the download is corrupt, your best course of action might be to delete the book and download it again.
You can try quitting the app and restart the iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
You can try resetting the iPad.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Or you can delete the book and download it again. Go to iBooks. Tap on the edit button in the upper right corner. Tap on the book to select it. Tap the red delete button. Go to the IBookstore. Tap on the purchased tab. Find the book and download it again.
You must use the same apple ID that you bought the book with in order to download it again for free.

One of my apps won't stay open after iPad and app both had update

After updating with the new update for the iPad I updated my nook app. Now my nook app won't stay open. I've restarted my iPad multiple times and tried it with and without wifi still won't stay open.

I suggest trying the update again after an hour or two. Sometimes, the notice that an update is available comes an hour or two before the developers actually sends the revised app out to be downloaded.

Help! My ipad mail window wont stay open to read mail?

Have you tried closing the Mail app completely ? From the home screen (i.e. not with Mail 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

I purchased a book from but it won't stay open. I have rebooted as recommended.

I purchased a travel book on my IPAD in IBOOK. It won't stay open. I have tried to reboot the device. That gets me into the book but I am still unable to read more than a page or two. Any suggestions?

Have you tried deleting the book and re-downloading it ? And do your other books still open ok ?

What do you mean it won't save date? What exactly are you pressing and what happens or doesn't happen?
Try this:
Open the Calendar App and Tap Calendar at the bottom of the screen. Make sure all calendars have checkmarks, then Tap Done. Do your events show up now?

Try removing the Genius database. In the "Finder" go to the /username/Music/iTunes/ folder and delete the "iTunes Library Genius.itdb" file. This may allow the program to launch again. This file will be recreated upon first use of the "Genius" feature.

Visited links using Safari on my iPad 2 won't stay the "visited" color after I close the tab, put the iPad in sleep mode (or whatever it's called), or when I power off the iPad.
There are certain sites I visit where it comes in very handy to be able to see which links I've already clicked on. The links will stay the "visited" color during the time I'm on the site, but later they all go back to the "unvisited" color.
Is there any way I can fix this on an iPad?

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

If I close Firefox and reopen it, all my live bookmark folders are closed and I have to manually reopen them (such as BBC World News, etc.). Please restore the old functionality: If I have it open when I quit, let it be open when I come back! If I had it closed, then keep it closed. Thanks!

Thanks for your reply and for taking an interest. I've attached the screenshot in PNG format--hope that's okay. I use bookmarks only in the Sidebar, never in the toolbar (I just have way too many!)
The BBC News live bookmark that is shown opened in that screenshot always comes back closed after I close Firefox and reopen it. (This is true for ALL other live bookmarks as well. Formerly, in earlier versions of Firefox, the open ones always remained open, and the closed ones closed, which is the correct behavior, imho.)
