Ipad camera kit - won't read JPGs

Any tricks for me?  Any special SD card needed?  I have an iPAD2 and for sure have a valid JPG on a 16 GB SD Card.  I plug it into the iPAD and nothing happens...Any/all help would be great!  Thanks...

Thanks, can you explain why this is such a brutally difficult process when Apple claims to be so "user friendly"? So...if I set a DCIM file and the name a picture 12345678.jpg it should work?
Ill try it now...

  • Small CF card reader that works with the iPad Camera Kit?

I'm looking for a small (not much bigger than a CF card) CF Card reader that works with the iPad Camera kit (USB piece) - Anyone know of one?
All the ones I see people suggesting are big and bulky (made for a desktop). I know there are many smaller ones, but that the iPad camera kit doesn't work with everyone. Anyone know one that works with it?

My set up, quite compact for travel, this is a no brand version but I have seen other ones branded Integra or something similar.

  • I saw a video of someone using a iPhone with a iPad camera kit usb connected to a Midi keyboard

Is it possible somehow to use an iPad camera kit usb with an iPhone ?. I saw someone using it in a video with a M-Audio keyboard with iPhone 4 on iOS 5.0.1

It is not supported, no. If someone has gotten it to work with specific equipment, great, but there is no gaurantee it will do so.

  • IPad Camera Kit and Dell SX2210 LCD monitor

My Dell SX2210 has a built in 3.2 megapixel camera built into the monitor. Any chance if I buy the iPad camera kit and plug it into my iPad the plug and play might work? I have read on forums that some users have success with this monitor's camera on MacBook Pros and Mac minis.
Any idea if this setup might work?

I am not sure but I think not.
The camera connection kit seems to look for image files in a camera type directory structure.
The monitor camera probably outputs a live video feed. Is this correct?

  • Ipad camera  kit at best buy

placed an order for a ipad camera kit yesterday from the apple store, and today went to bestbuy to pick up my apple case and they had the camera kit so i came home an cancelled the order from the apple store.seems like best buy is getting more items then the apple store at the mall.

Plus their online inventory is up-to-date, so you can see if they have an item before you even go there. A couple of weeks ago I got a camera kit when a Best Buy showed it in stock, I hurried up there, and they had one left.

  • IPad camera kit help??

I'm not sure if this as been answered before but I'm having a bit of trouble using my iPad camera kit. I have a 8GB SD card and when I connect the camera sd reader my iPad sees it but when I put the card in I keep getting error messages say unable to mount or volume is wrong.
Any help would be great on this.

    A couple of questions:
    - Dose the CCK work if you connect it to the camera via the CCK USB piece?
    - Can you download photos from the card via your computer?
    - Is it a standard SD card. There are similar cards like SDXC that do not work.
    - what is format of the card?
    - Are the photos in a folder labeled "DCIM" in the root director of the card?

  • Connect USB CF Reader to iPad Camera Kit?

Could someone give this a try and let us know how it works out? I shoot with a Canon DSLR, which is dreadfully slow to transfer when directly connected. Would love to just use a speedy card reader connected to the USB dongle instead.
    Any feedback is much appreciated!

I can't say from personal experience, but I read on dpreview that some CF card readers work, and others don't. The card readers that don't work cause an "Insufficient power for device" warning or something to that effect.
My guess is that probably older card readers would be more likely to draw less power and therefore more likely to work with the iPad camera connector kit.

  • IPad Camera Kit

I have an older Canon Rebel camera that is still fantastic. I got the camera kit so I could take only my iPad when I go. But...
The camera has some odd port called 'digital' and doesn't appear to be firewire or USB. The cards it has a way too big for adapter slot and the little adapter I use (bigger cards to USB) DOES fit into the USB connector, but the iPad doesn't seem to be able to power the reader. So, I'm kind of stuck (and $29 in the hole). Any suggestions on what to do? If no solution, I'll have to take my laptop in two days.
If anyone knows anything about that camera or what the heck a 'digital' port is, please post ASAP.
    Thanks so much in advance.

I sounds like you have a compact flash (CF) storage media. There are many USB card readers that work with the camera connection kit (CCK). I have a SanDisk 8in1 and it works fine for CF, MS and SM cards. Users have reported that the older USB 1.1 card readers do not work.
    This site says:
On the top is the USB 1.1 Digital port
    http://www.steves-digicams.com/camera-reviews/canon/eos-digital-rebel-slr/canon- eos-digital-rebel-slr-review-3.html
It may be that the USB 1.1 connection is not compatible with the CCK. When you connect your camera do you get an error message? Also, does the storage card have a DCIM folder in the root directory with the photos in that directory?

  • IPad camera kit error "device uses too much power"

Got the camera kit....when I attach it I get an error that says the device uses too much power. I've shut down and restarted the iPad several times and still get the same error. Anyone know what I can do?

I have a camera that uses compact flash cards therefore I have been experimenting with card readers to avoid draining the camera battery when downloading the images to the iPad.
I have been using the USB part of the camera connection kit with a multi card reader, at first I could not get anything to work, I thought ' the not enough power reason, I sorted out a powered USB hub to try, again no good, I disconnected everything and thought one last try, I put the card in the reader, connected the USB cable to the USB part of the camera connection kit and finally inserted the whole lot into the iPad, to my surprise the light on the card reader came on and a few seconds later 70 nef files were previewed on the screen.
I repeated the above several times with the same results, I then tried two other card readers again OK, but if I just removed the card and then re inserted it nothing happened, these card readers are no name supermarket specials.
I may have been lucky but I will continue to try my method and see if it holds up to regular use, so make the physical connection to the iPad the last part of the connection process, I hope this is of some help to others.

  • Is the ipad camera kit compatible with android 4g

have sansung 4g phone can i use the camera kit for ipad to download pictures and video

Download the pics/videos to your computer. Then transfer to the iPad. Here's one way.
You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import.

  • Why is the iPad camera kit not supported by iPad?

When I connect the camera connection kit to iPad a message appears "this accessory is not supported by iPad. It is the right cck for ipad1. I have tried switching iPad off and then back on with cck already connected. Any ideas?

    A couple of possibilities:
    - the CCK may not be firmly connected. This can happen if you have a case on the iPad. If you do, try removing the case and trying the CCK again.
    - If you're trying to access an SD card, this error can be caused by the lack of a DCIM folder on the SD card. To remedy this issue, insert your SD card into an adapter and connect it to your computer, then create a folder named DCIM at the root level of the SD card. Place any photos you’d like to transfer into this folder, then reconnect the card to the iPad using the CCK.
    Hope this helps.

  • My 3rd gen iPad & iPhone 4S won't display jpgs correctly

I have created these jpgs myself from photoshop, they are from illustrator files and i was toying with the idea of making some backgrounds available on my website.
The pictures are on my twitter feed here pic.twitter.com/IUyxX8ea & pic.twitter.com/E9gGUZlU
As you can see it shows up fine until it enlarges. I tried it as a tiff and that worked fine but tiffs are just huge files so would prefer a smaller alternative if possible. Is there a way around this or maybe a better file to use, the images are saved in photoshop at the same dimensions and ppi as on the ipad page on apple.com.

Turns out, after poking around in my settings, I discovered my iCloud backup was still downloading even though there was nothing left to download. I cancelled it and PRESTO! Wifi downloading worked.

  • Sony cyber shot, getting the memory due to work with the iPad camera kit

Has anyone been able to find this SD card / memory stick adapter? I checked with Amazon and can not locate.
My issue is Im leaving for England on Saturday so I have a week to try to find something that will allow my Sony DSC-HX5V 10.2MP CMOS Digital Camera with 10x Wide Angle Zoom with Optical Steady Shot Image Stabilization and 3.0 inch LCD that uses a memory stick pro due to work with my camera connection kit. I have a new samsung digital camera that has SD card which I can use that with the camera connection kit BUT when I plug into USB the camera will not work\
I am basically afraid to purchase this camera and it does not work through USB or the card reader, even if it does work through the USB interface which would be awesome I would still like for it to work with the card reader in case I misplace the capable etc.
Any help is appreciated. Last question also is the camera I am getting is the only digital camera besides the higher end video cameras that have GPS of which I own one but its a lot bulkier to carry which is why I am buying this one. Does anyone have any clue if the GPS data will transfer? I know Apple iPhoto has GPS places recognition, I just dont know if Sony's propierty nature will make it uncompatible b/c they come with a software program to view the gps pictures.

Did you purchase the Sony DSC-HX5V? I am looking at buying that same camera because of the GPS function, as well as the fact that it can take the SD card as well as the Sony memory stick.
I am a bit confused by your question though? Are you saying that when you use the SD card, and you connect the camera to your macbook, the camera doesn't work?
As for the GPS stuff, I am hoping you have found an answer to this quesion, as it will be key in determining whether or not I buy the Sony or instead the Panasonic Lumix ZS7, which also has GPS tagging (I hear the sony has more accurate data).

  • HT4101 Ipad Camera Connection SD Card Reader-Not opening to Import

I have followed all the instructions on this support, but I cannot get the photos to appear on my iPad 2. Tried on a buddies iPad 3 and it works great. HELP!

Try a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. The screen will go blank and then power ON again in the normal way.] It is app and data safe!

  • Olympus EP-1 Camera Raw Won't Read

I'm sure this is a simple fix -- although I can't seem to figure it out -- but after installing the Adobe Camera Raw 5.5 update and restarting Adobe Lightroom, I get the following error when trying to import an ORF file: "The following file appears to be unsupported or damaged."
I have checked the Library and found the Olympus EP-1 Adobe Standard.dcp profile okay. Am I missing something else?
    I appreciate any advice.

You will have to wait for LR 2.5 RC to open the files in Lightroom.
RC is an abbreviation for Release Candidate and by implication not necessarily the final release version.
In the recent past there have been RC's for Camera Raw and DNG, but not for Lightroom. So, I would suggest that "we", as in the "uninformed", refrain from giving the impression that something might or might not happen before the release version ships.
In the meantime, if users of the EP-1 wish to edit his/her EP-1 raw files in Lightroom they will have to convert them to DNG using DNG Converter 5.5RC, which can be obtained from http://labs.adobe.com/wiki/index.php?title=Camera_Raw_5.5
