iPad clipboard - one reason, why it is so bad for me
search for adresses on an app for that and export the found adresses per email;
THe first task goes well; further adresses (say, I need today three adresses from acertain village) are going wrong. Can anyone consider, why?

Fourth time, because my first three answers were blowing in the wind, gefressen guzzled by the clipboard or reloading safaripage, the third by notes, never I have seen there have been  hundred of chars eaten by notes.
1) I have an application (“app”) to search addresses in austria as there is a phone-number connected.
2) I can generate a contact entry with the result or export it in various channels, say I send it per e-mail to me (for using it on an other device outside iOS or send it to a collegue.)
3) If there are more than one wanted results, I have to send them one by one.
4) Looking for the e-mails, they may have a totally senseless content (an earlier clipboard-content) or
every e-mail has the same content: the first address in the results-list.
5) Please do not ask me, why this is. I would be glad to hear from you how to stop this behavior of
iPad (with wich I was really happy for years and which is since month not helpful but the source of nuisance friendly said on every use
daily, hourly, eight times or so every hour)
{see https://discussions.apple.com/message/26921591?ac_cid=op123456#26921591}
And yes I have tried all resettings though not the one to delete all content, perhaps Apple can find a better solution for me (so I thought weeks before).

  • One reason why you might not be able to activate FaceTime

    I was not initially able to activate FaceTime on my iPod Touch. FaceTime kept insisting that either my Apple ID or my password were incorrect, even though they were the same ones I've been using in iTunes for years.
    After some lengthy troubleshooting with an AppleCare rep, who didn't know any more about it than I did, we found the answer.
    If your Apple ID is not an email address, FaceTime won't recognize it.
    I had to log in to my iTunes Store account via iTunes, and then edit my Apple ID to be the same as the email address I use with that account. Then I was able to proceed with activating FaceTime.
    So if you have the same problem, try it! Good luck!

    Yes, you are correct. The following is from an Apple Support Document:
    Ensure that the Apple ID you are using to register FaceTime on iPod touch (4th generation) is an email address. If your Apple ID is not an email address , you can change it on appleid .apple.com

  • A reason why 3g is going slow for some of us

    Hey,
    A reason why someones 3g might be going slow is because the servers cant handle all the data with the new phones.
    So ever since I got my iphone 3g, ive noticed that the 3g speeds are quite slow (~150kbps). In my area, we have very good 3g coverage so I was kinda suprised. I called AT&T and they told me that it was because the high volume of new 3g users(iphone users) that meant the servers were having trouble and were slowing down. I decided to try my phone late at night (~11pm or midnight) when there was less usage and then I started getting around 500kbps.
    I suggest trying 3g speed tests when usage would be low like late at night. (iphonespeedtest.com is decent for checking speeds)
    So, part or all of the problem seems to be with AT&T and not apple. AT&T needs to getting cracking on upgrading and expanding these servers.

    I'm guess that most of us use only one catalog 99% of the time.  The question of multiple catalogs comes up from time to time, but as johnbeardy says, Lightroom appears to work best with a single catalog.
    Do you find yourself creating new catalogs frequently?  If so, why?  I'm not being critical: I'm wondering if I've missed some benefit of multiple catalogs that might be relevant to me.

  • One reason why commandLink doesn't work in dataTable

    Ok, so I think I've got an explanation why commandLink doesn't work in dataTable when the model bean is request scoped. Maybe somebody can tell me if I'm wrong.
    I have a model bean that generates table rows based on some input criteria (request parameters).
    So, we validate the inputs, apply them to the bean and render the page. Once the inputs have been applied to the bean, a request for table rows returns rows, no problem.
    However, we put a commandLink in each row, so we can expand the details. Maybe we even get smart and repeat the input row-generating criteria as a hidden field in the page.
    Unfortunately, when the user hits the commandLink, the list page simply refreshes, maybe even w/out table rows. The user doesn't get the details page as expected.
    Why not?
    Because: in the DECODE phase (even before validation and before "immediate" values have had their valueChangeListeners called), we ask the model bean for the table rows, so we can decode the commandLinks. Unfortunately, in "decode" phase, the request-scoped model bean has not had its row-generating criteria updated (that happens in the "update model" normally, or at the END of the decode phase if we got cute by (1) setting the "immediate" attribute on the row-generating criteria to "true" AND (2) set a valueChangeListener to allow us to update the model bean early. The END of the decode phase isn't good enough -- in the middle of that phase, when we're attempting to deocde commandLinks, the model bean has no citeria, so there's no row data. No row data means no iteration over commandLinks to decode them and queue ActionEvents. So, we march through the rest of the phases, process no events, and return to the screen of origin (the list screen) with no errors.
    So, what's the solution?
    One solution is to make the model bean session-scoped. Fine, maybe we can store a tiny bit of data in it (the search criteria), so it's not such a memory drag to have it live in the session forever. How do we get that data in? A managed property in faces-config.xml with value #{param.PARENT_KEY} won't work because it's assigning request-scoped data to a session-scoped holder. JBoss balks, and rightly so. Do we write code in the model bean that pulls the request parameter out of thin air? (FacesContext.getExternalContext()....) I don't really like to code the name of a specific http request parameter into the bean, I think it's the job of the JSP or faces-config.xml to achieve that binding (request parameter to model propery). Plus, I'd be sad to introduce a dependency on Faces in what was previously just a bean.
    Is there a better way?
    In my particular situation, we're grafting some Faces pages onto an already-existing non-Faces application. I don't get the luxury of presenting the user an input field and binding it to a bean. All I've got to work with is a request parameter.
    Hmm, I guess I just answered my own question. if all I've got to work with is a request parameter, some ugliness is inevitable, I guess.
    I guess the best fix is to cheat and have the bean constructor look for a request parameter. If it finds it, it initializes the criteria field (which, in my case, is the key of an object that has a bunch of associated objects (the rows data), but could be more-general d/b search criteria).
    (I looked at the "repeater" example code in the RI, but it basically statically-generates its data and then uses 100% Faces (of course) to manage the paging (where "page number" is essentially the "criteria").
    Comments? Did I miss something obvious?
    John.

    ...or I could just break down and do the thing I was hoping to avoid (outputLink instead of commandLink):
    <h:outputLink value="/faces/Detail.jsp">
      <f:param name="PARENT_KEY" value="#{bean.parentKey}"/>
      <h:outputText value="#{bean.label}"/>
    </h:outputLink>It's still a "hardcoded" parameter name, but at least the binding is in the JSP and faces-config.xml, not the bean Java code.

  • One reason why buffer hit ratio just might be bogus

    Hi.
    Still trawling through statspack trying to make some sense of it ...
    But looking at this, (on undo segments) I have perhaps another reason to sneer at the old buffer cache hit ratio: (in the sense of using it to tune, or of using it to justify action / lack of action).
    "The header is also a data block that is frequently modified , so it generally remains in the buffer cache. Therefore, gets of the rollback segment header block increase the buffer cache hit ratio; this artificial increase in the hit ratio can mislead you into thinking that you have allocated enough data blocks to the buffer cache"
    :taken from the OP Exam 033 text, p.295

    Hi Dan,
    The problem is about the usefulness of ratio's in-general, it's not specifically about the BCHR. . . .
    This whole thing arose from the Oracle7 performance tuning classes where Oracle Corporation suggested that the BCHR be kept over 90%. . . .
    Is the BCHR "bogus"? It is what it is, a ratio. . . .
    I agree wit Ben, it does have limited use as an "indicator", that the buffer cache MIGHT be too small to cache the working set of frequently-referenced data blocks. I have my notes here:
    http://www.dba-oracle.com/t_buffer_cache_hit_ratio_value.htm
    Oh, and as to the buffer cache advisory, it's not perfect (as is any predictive model) and I rarely see one that does not suggest that adding RAM will reduce physical I/O.
    Anyway, in just a few years all this will be a moot issue, espeially since solid-state disk has hit $100 per gig. Without spinning platters, there is no need for a large buffer cache at all . . . .
    Hope this helps. . .

    Hi kamfong,
    Went to Settings where?
    If you want to use your exisiting Apple ID on your iPad, you need to:
    1.     Go to Settings>iTunes & App Store and sign out the new ID, and then sign on the old one
    2.     Go to Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom and delete the iCloud account, and the sign back onto iCloud using the old ID
    You still have not indindated why you are saying that using your old ID originally "didn't work". What do you mean by that? Did you get some sort of error when you tried to sign on with your exisiting Apple ID?
    Cheers,

    Triple click anywhere in the line below to select it and press Ctrl+C to copy it.
    cmd /k netsh winsock reset
    Press the WinLogoKey+R to open the run dialog, then Ctrl+V to paste, then press enter/return.
    You should get something similar to this:
    Reboot the computer and the problem should be resolved.
    If it doesn't work then perhaps a full tear down and rebuild of iTunes will fix things. See Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for details.

    I don't consider that wrong. I assume you just mean moving the insts like most Logic users have done at some point - I only use GB for testing when on the portable w/o xskey. I don't know if there is anything in the GB EULA on this but I am guessing you mean the App Support folder - which I have merged with the rest of my lib because I don't like to zip through more than 1 lib.
    Do something equivalent. I wonder if a developer could figure that out.
    I do consider that wrong.

    Yes

    Is there a reason why the mail badge icon on my iPad doesn't disappear when I open an email on my iPhone using my iCloud account?

    Hi everyone!
    Looking also for an app that allows me to merge email and send them out to each recipient individually. Apparently that's not possible yet. Here's what the guys at RedbitsApps told me about Group Email capabilities:
    "The current version of the app relies on the device operating system to send the emails. For this reason, sending individual email instead of a single email to multiple recipients is not possible. Apple doesn't allow apps to send single emails to many recipients easily. We may use a custom sending software in a future version."
    Let's keep looking guys...

  • My ipad isnt charging when em connecting it with my laptop any one knows why ?

    My ipad isnt charging when em connecting it with my laptop any one knows why ?

    The iPad pulls 10 Watts of power in order to charge the battery.  The USB port on a laptop only puts out 2.5 watts (I may be off on this slightly but I know it is way less then 10) So yes you do need to use the 10 watt wall charger that comes with the iPad to charge it.  You can use the 5 watt charger from an iPhone but the iPad will not get to 100% charge and it will really overheat the iPhone wall charger.  Only do this in an emergency and keep a close eye on the charger as it will get REALLY REALLY HOT. I only do this when I don't have my iPad wall charger with me and only for about 15 minutes at a time.  Then I let the charger cool down for about 15 minutes before I plug it back in.
    There is talk that future laptops will have usb ports that can push 100 watts but that is a way down the road I am sure.
