IPad Cloud Backup not found

I have been using a school purchased iPad for a few months, using my own private account, and have enjoyed it so much that I just bought my own.  Had to return the school's first, but did a complete cloud backup with it.  Double checked it - it completely backed up, had plenty of memory left, and everything was fine.  So I did a factory reset on that device and turned it in.  Got my new iPad today, signed in and selected iPad Cloud Restore from backup, and it tells me there is not a cloud backup for my account.  Seriously?  The two iPads were identical in their specs also.
What do I have to do?  This should be a piece of cake, but clearly something is messed up here.  Do I have to remove that old iPad (disassociate it from my apple ID) first (using manage devices in itunes?) - that seems like it might be risky and might get rid of the cloud backup if it's still there somewhere.
Thanks for any help.

Wasn't using a mobile device to access me.com, or Safari.  I am using the *same* ID/password that my iPad was using - the same one (the only one I've ever had) on iTunes too.  I am 100% sure it backed it up - it completed the iCloud initial backup process without an error message, then I went back later in the day and looked at "Last backed up: 8:37am", which was the time I completed the backup process.  I checked the amount of space the backup consumed, and it wasn't much, but was something like half a gigabyte, leaving me with about 4.5gb of iCloud storage space remaining.  All of it seemed to be extremely indicative of actually backing up the iPad.  So at that point, instead of backing up a second time, I went ahead with the factory reset on the device and turned it back into the school when that was done.
Now I am getting no other options on this brand new (bought from Apple.com) iPad to restore from iCloud backup.  This blasted me.com message is all I see.   I tried entering in a wrong email into the login/password, and the error message came up there (where it did not give an error message when I logged in with the correct login/password), which seems to tell me the login/password are not the problem.
This is really enfuriating.  I followed apple's rules for using iCloud as a backup, bought a brand new product of theirs, and now none of it is working and I seem to be at risk of losing my backed up photos and programs and settings from the old iPad.  Really not pleased with this purchase at this point and need more help.  Is there an official place I can call or go besides here?

  • IPad Cloud Backup/Lockscreen bug

    Hi
I had been away from home for a while and hadn't used my iPad on Wifi for a few weeks. Upon getting back home and opening the cover, I was presented with a dialog saying
    iCloud Backup
This iPad hasn't been backed up in
    4 weeks. Backups happen when
this iPad is plugged in, locked, and
    connected to Wi-Fi.
    <OK>
Fair enough, but the funny thing was, clicking OK, didn't do anything! the dialog remained on the screen, and I couldn't access any apps. Closing the smart cover just meant that when I opened, the dialog was still there. Locking the screen physically resulted in the "Swipe to unlock" being unavailable, and the same if I tried to power off the iPad. In the end I had to force-reset the iPad to fix it! I filmed the problem, video is here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9436839/IMG_1549.MOV
has anyone else seen this problem?

    Hi Franky,
The link is working at my end, please try and use a different browser. If that doesn't work then reset the browser and check.

  • Can't upgrade my ipad2 to ios5 .. itunes says ipad update server not found

I have my main desktop I use for setting up my new iPad2.  Syncs fine, but when I tried to update to ios5, keep getting message that ipad update server is not available, check internet connection.  Itunes sees the internet, because it allows me to connect to the istore .. etc. Changed cables, I have tried it with firewall on, and firewall off .. makes no difference.  The test shows no connection, but you can see by the diagnostics that it did connect.
    PC is XP Pro,
I could connect fine from my laptop, working on same home network, however if I upgrade, it will dump all my apps .. I don't want to lose everything.
Is there a way to unsync my desktop, then sync with my laptop instead, backup, then do the update from my laptop?

It's my understanding that you do not need Lion on your Mac but you do need the latest version of iTunes. If you already have this, there may be some other problem.

  • HT4910 Ipad cloud backup

How come if I have my Ipad plugged in, locked and we have wifi won't it back up to th cloud?

This may be caused by a corrupt existing backup that needs to be deleted, or by data on your iPad that is preventing the backup.  To troubleshoot these, try deleting your last backup (if you have one) by turning off iCloud Backup in Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup, then tap Manage Storage, swipe across your backup and tap Delete, then go back and turn iCloud Backup back on again.
If it still won't back up, you may have an app that is preventing the backup from succeeding.  To locate which one, go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage, tap the name of your device under Backups, under Backup Options tap Show All Apps, then turn them all to Off (including camera roll) and try backing up again.  If it succeeds, then the camera roll and/or one of your apps is preventing the backup and you'll have to located by process of elimination. Turn the camera roll On and try backing up again.  If it succeeds, turn some of your apps to On and try backing up again.  If it succeeds again, turn some more apps to On then try again; repeat this process until it fails.  Eventually you'll be able to locate the problem app and exclude it from your backup.

  • Time machine - backup not found yet visible

    Hello,
I am having trouble setting up Time Machine on a new Macbook Air running OSX Yosemite 10.10.
I have an external hard drive connected to a first generation Airport Extreme, and it is running fine and backing up on my other computer, a MacBook Pro which is running OS X version 10.7.5 and AirPort Utility 6.3.1.
Yet when I purchased the new Macbook Air (listed above), which is using Airport Utility 6.3.4, upon opening Time Machine, it is not able to see my backup disk.  It just keeps saying "Set up an AirPort Time Capsule that is not listed here."  When I click "Setup" it brings me to the AirPort Utility, and I can see my AirPort Extreme, and further, when I click on my AirPort Extreme and "Edit" I am able to see my backup drive under the "Disks" header.  There is plenty of space as well.
Any reason why Time Machine is not able to see my backup disk, despite being able to see it in AirPort Utility?  I As I said, it is working fine on the MacBook Pro.
Many thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Apple never officially supported Time Machine backups to a drive connected to the USB port of the AirPort Extreme, Generations 1 through 5.
Some users were able to make this work, and some were not up using operating systems up through Mountain Lion (10.8.x).
Apple pretty much shut off the capability to even try this when Mavericks (10.9.x) was introduced, and this continues through Yosemite (10.10.x).

  • Printing from ipad to b110 not found

Can't print from b110 from ipad2. Error no printer found

    Hey aera35!
This can be caused by a couple different reasons. Have you checked your printer for any updates? I beleive this can be found on your printer by going to setup->preferences->product updates. If there are no updates, then tell me what kind of router you are using and I will find out if it supports AirPrint.
    Hope this helps!

  • Backup not found

i backed up my iPhone through itunes, because I was thinking of starting all over as a fresh phone... But once that was done i realized there wasn't any point in doing that cause im missing all my information...
Anyways after that i decide to finally restore from my backup which i save everyday ever since i got my iphone (so i basically backed up my iphone 730 times over 2 years) so I go ahead and restore and then when it prompts me to choose the desired backup, I don't find any of my iPhone 2G backups,
At that moment i felt like crying (I had 2 years of picture memories in my iphone, like 1000 contacts, notes... and now i have none)!!
If you are aware of a solution, Please let me know!! I would be really thankful...

i returned them back but still couldnt find them on the itunes specially the songs and the movies.

  • TimeMachine's backup not found

    Hello everyone,
I was wondering if anyone could help me out with the following issue. Few days ago, since I decided to format my MacBook, I had made the backup through Time Machine before. The backup went right. Subsequently, I formatted using the original CD. So far, I haven't had any problem. But, as soon as I tried to recover my data through TimeMachine, something went wrong. It seemed to me that the backup was executed correctly, but, after the backup was done, I couldn't find where those files are. By checking the hard drive, I noticed that it is half loaded with the backup's files (there are many GBs in there), though I can't find them. Did I do something wrong during the process? What can I do in order to get the process executed right?
    Thanks for your kind attention,
    Stepphi
