Have you tried another cable?
Another charging source? Does iTunes see the iPod when you connect to your computer?
Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Look for abnormalities like bent or corroded contacts, foreign material and cracked or broken plastic.

Since you dropped and damaged your phone, you've voided your warranty. As such, you can bring it in to Apple for an out of warranty exchange, which will cost 199.00 USD. Or, since it's now out of warranty anyway, you can Google an iPhone repair shop in your area and see if it will cost less than that for repair.

Today Apple retail unit/shop in sold me Airport Time Capsule. Now trying to install on my 21 inch iMac which runs OSX10.6.8. Seems I should have newer OSX and also newer Airport Utility version (mine is 5.6.1). What can I do, please? So much looking forward to using Time Capsule. It is not at all readable on box. Now with a magnified glass I can just about make out the installation requirements printed in tiny print at the bottom/base of the box! I have tried software update etc etc and to download Airport Utility update from Apple website. This was unsuccessful because of OSX, I gathered. You need OS X 10.7.5 or later. Most likely you can upgrade OS X on your iMac. You already have 10.6.8 and access to the App Store. If your computer qualifies to run Mavericks, then that is what you would upgrade to, otherwise, you would upgrade to Lion.
Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mavericks, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion at the Online Apple Store. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax. It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.

1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
or Xeon processor
2. 2GB of memory

I have been trying for 2 days to connect my home camera dvr to the internet through my Airport Extreme. I have read several previous posts on this topic and have not been able to get this completed. I secured a Dyndns account and registered a host domain. I am not clear on which ip address to use and really which is which. Seems like the ip address for the router is different from the ip address that showed up when I secured my dyndns host name. I used the one that was listed on the signup that staed " your ip address is". I have read up on port forwarding and watched UTube and still no luck. Can someone walk me through a steo by step process on how to get this completed? I want to be able to watch my cameras from my iphone, ipad, macbook pro and the internet. I do have a manual that came with the DVR but it seems everything is setup for Windows and a different router, seems like the AE router had different settings. I can usually figure these things out eventually but I am really stuck this time. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.

While looking into the issue you are experiencing I came across some helpful information. In an article called iCloud: Troubleshooting creating backups found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3992 there are a number of steps to help get your issue resolved.
General troubleshooting
General information
iCloud Backup requires a Wi-Fi connection to the Internet.
Automatic backups occur when you've plugged in your iOS device, locked the screen, and have connected it to Wi-Fi.
You can manually start a backup by tapping Back Up Now in Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup (requires a Wi-Fi connection to the Internet).
iCloud Backup will provide helpful information and status messages related to backups at the bottom ofSettings > iCloud > Storage & Backup.
If automatic backups don't work as expected, test to see what happens when you start a manual backup by tapping Back Up Now at the bottom of the Storage & Backup screen.
Backups and restores both take time, especially if you have a lot of data or a slow connection. Depending on the size of your data and the speed of your network, you may need to give more time than you expected to a backup or restore.
Make sure you have at least 50 MB of free space available on your iOS device before you back up. If you have no space available on your device, iCloud Backup can fail in some cases. You can verify how much free space you have available on your iOS device in Settings > General > About.

The first way you can connect the iPod to the computer it was originally configured on, and open iTunes. When you disconnect iPod from the computer, it will no longer be locked. You then can go into the preferences and turn off the lock. If you don’t have access to the original computer or it just does not work, you can jump to the second method. The best fix for any iPod problem is the classic “restore your iPod to factory settings.” That this will erase all data on your iPod and take you back to day one, but you can just add your music and data back to iPod from iTunes. This is the true benefit of the iPod / iTunes relationship.

i cannot get my mouse and wireless keyboard to work anymore....also...my bluetooth icon is not at the top of the screen like it once was...and a note says that i must have the bluetooth module installed...it was working fine two hours ago.
So you have never actually used the airport utility.. you were almost there.

This is not required but to my eyes.. it is much easier to understand and has more useful tool items than later versions.. which are made iOS pretty picture like.
How to load 5.6 into ML.
1. Download 5.6 for Lion.

Click to open the dmg but do not attempt to install the pkg.. it won't work anyway.
2. Download and install unpkg.

Run unpkg on the desktop.. it is very simple.. drag the AirPortUtility56.pkg file over to unpkg.. and it will create a new directory of the same name on the desktop.. drill down.. applications utilities .. there lo and behold is Airport utility 5.6 .. drag it to your main utilities directory or just run it from current location.
You cannot uninstall 6.1 (now 6.2 if you updated) so don't try.. and you cannot or should not run them both at the same time.. so just ignore the toyland version.. the plastic hammer.. and start using 5.6.. a real tool.
