IPad connected to 3G but Google homepage takes 5 minutes to load!

I had 2 iPads side by side, both of the same model and both on the same O2 carrier business data plan.
When sat on a full signal and 3G data connection, one of them loaded data almost instantly (as it should) and the other took 5-10 minutes to load the Google homepage!
I contacted o2 who told me it was the sim card that was faulty, so they sent me a replacement sim card out next day. The iPad then worked perfectly for 2-3 weeks, but I'm now sat with same problem with the exact same iPad.
Can you anyone PLEASEEEE suggest anything? I've tried hard resets and wiping the iPad fully (just to say I've done it).
As I say its not that the data doesn't load, it just takes an age to do so.
Thanks!

I'd suspect faulty hardware.  Give apple a call if on warrenty.
I would have told you to look at the logs, but Apple seems to have blocked viewing the logs in 7 on the ipad.
a little ramble on my part...

  • Firefox takes minutes to load upon starting up and changing web pages

When I open firefox in Windows Vista, it takes minutes(sometimes up to ten) to start up.Once firefox has loaded and I go to visit another web page, it takes minutes to load that web page. I downloaded Firefox 3.6.7 when it first came out, and it just recently started doing this. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling firefox, but this did not work. It is not a problem with my internet connection or operating system, because internet explorer and safari only takes seconds to load up and load web pages. I have run various scans to see if it was a virus or a bug, but nothing came up. How do I fix this, because using Internet Explorer is really getting on my nerves?

  • Remote app on iPad connects to iTunes but then loses connection.

    Hi,
Basically, I can get the app on my  iPad to connect to iTunes, but if I then start doing something else on my iPad, or my computer goes to sleep, then the remote won't connect again. Even if I wake my macbook and try to connect it again.
If I press 'add an iTunes library' in the remote app, nothing appears on iTunes.
To solve the problem, I have to restart my computer.
I just checked to see if my iPhone connects and it worked straight away. Maybe its a problem with my iPad?
    Can anyone suggest anything?
    Oscar

I too have this problem and made it worse. Under Mavericks and iOS7 everything set up very easily and worked beautifully like Apple stuff usually does. Then a couple of weeks ago I took the dive and updated to Yosemite, iTunes 12 and iOS8 and then I would occasionally lose connection with my iTunes library as described by the second poster. Very aggravating. So I made a bigger mistake and deleted the library from my iPad Remote app and whenever I started it up again it would say 'Add a device'. I clicked and a randomly generated 4 digit number appears with the exact instructions: 'To add an iTunes library, open iTunes on your computer and choose Remote from the tab bar'. I went to iTunes and searched EVERYWHERE for this Remote tab bar and could not find it. I then went to iTunes Preferences: Devices and clicked the button 'Forget All Remotes' thinking this may reset something in iTunes and make the Remote tab appear somehow to start from scratch. Wrong! Now there is absolutely no connection between the Remote app on my devices and iTunes on my computer.
Can anyone point me to this Remote tab in iTunes?? If I can find that then I think I should be able to fix this.
Geez, talk about effing up what should be (and was) a very simple app.

  • VI with Several XControls on nested tabs takes minutes to load in LabVIEW 2013

    Hello all,
I have a VI in LabVIEW 8.2 that includes more than 400 Xcontrols in nested tabs, which opens in seconds (very fast). The code was upgraded to LabVIEW 2013 and now the VI takes minutes to open and in the meantime LabVIEW is unusable with the CPU at 100%.
I am wondering if anybody has experienced this behavior with Xcontrols.
    Thanks.

Please note that I am working with jarcTek on this project where we inherite that UI with so many XControls instances.
It is not like there are a lot of different XControls (there are a total of about 10 different type of XControls), but there are a lot of instances of these XControls (several 100) in 3 levels of nested tabs.
Yes, we both had the time to re-recompile the source code between the two posts that jarcTek made. The various XControls are stored in 4 different llbs. Most of the XControls that have a lot of instances are actually pretty simple (very little code there). Finally, yes the VI property  (or the XControl library property general settings) indicate that the code is in LabVIEW 2013 [see image below].
You are correct, the delay occurs after the VI is loaded from disk. The loading time is fine (we see the loading progress/dialog since there are a few 100s vis to load with that main UI), but after that everything hangs for several minutes (cpu peg at 100%). We run the Desktop execution toolkit, and we can see a lot of XControl events (1000s) that are fired during this time.
FYI: Unloading (closing) the VI is also very slow.
To put this in perspective, In LabVIEW 8.2 the same code is ready to run immediately after the UI opens.
    Thanks
    PJM

  • IPad connected to wireless but Safari wont open

So I have the original iPad.  Just bought about 2 weeks ago.  Having a problem on my work wireless where is says it is connected but it will not open Safari or any apps that require internet access.  This problem comes and goes.  The wireless will work in the morning and then stop halfway through the day.  My iphone is connected to the same wirless at work and has no problems at all ever.  I have tried hard re-set, resetting network settings, shutting it on and on, turning off wireless and turning it back on and still wont work.   The IP address is a 169. address and I have read online that this is the problem.  Is there any way to fix this without just returning the thing?  All the software is up to date.  Gets absoultely annoying that it works on some free wireless networks and not others.  Any help would be appreciated.

Its a huge company and I really dont want to bother them with an iPad issue.  I just find it strange that my iphone connects perfectly fine 100% of the time to the wireless but the iPad does not.
I cant re-set any modems/routers here at work.   I have tried the Power/Home button shut down and that does nothing as well.  I really dont want to re-set the factory settings on the ipad and lose everything on there.  Not sure what to do.
I also had this problem several times on vacation this past weekend where it would say it was connected to the internet but would not work.  Iphone worked fine.  Think I may just have to take it back.

  • IPAD connected to internet, but it says it's not.

Searching for this seems to be a common problem, however none of the solutions have worked....Where is APPLE SUPPORT for this. If it's a common problem, then there should be an Apple common solution, not a bunch of hacks with their obvious solutions that don't work.
Problem: The IPad is connected to the router, and the router is connected to the net. I have a very strong signal. I have reset the router, and have reset the IPAD, many, many times. I have tried to reconnect, many, many times...I have forgotten and reinitialized...many, many times...but, it's still not working. The router says the devise is connected and has all permissions and such.
The problem still exists. The IPAD says its connected to the router, but none of the programs can reach the internet. THE ROUTER IS CONNECTED TO THE NET - all of my other devices, including my iPhone, all connect without a problem. It's only the IPAD. Safari says: cannot open the page because your iPad is not connected to the internet.   ******* ********!!! it is connected.
NOW! what is the solution APPLE? huh? how can I fix this because I'm totally confused on how everything else works, but the IPAD doesn't - huh? ***? why is there always some overly technical problem with your company. People like simple sweet, not a bunch of overly technical crap...that works one day, and for no other reason, just stops the next.
    I'm tired of it.

    Try the following:
    1. Turn router off for 30 seconds and on again
    2. Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    3. Reset iPad; hold the Sleep and Home button down until you see the Apple Logo

  • IPad connects with Photoshop, but Won't Move the Selected Tool.

I am able to connect my iPad to Photoshop, open a picture from my iPad in Photoshop, select a tool, but I can't use the tool.
I also can't restore the small picture on my iPad in Nav to full screen.
    Randy

    Hi Randy,
Its not possible to use tools from the iPad with Nav, its only possible to select them. You should be able to view open documents on the iPad in Nav in either full screen or thumbnail mode. To go from thumbnail mode to full screen mode, just use zoom in/out gestures (place two fingers together on the thumbnail and then move your fingers apart or together). Double tap the screen to exit full screen and then zoom out to return to the original thumbnail view.
Adobe Nav is often used for setting up a commonly used tool set on the iPad and then being able to quickly select any tools there versus within the application itself. Also, if you work with a lot of open documents, the open document view
allows you an easy way to bring certain ones to the front.
I found this overview video from the designer that talk about the app. It might be helpful.

  • IPad connects to network, but not internet, and it was working fine yesterday

So yesterday it was working fine, conecting to the internet and the router, then all of a sudden 'Safari cannot load the page because it is not connected to the internet', it was the same for all the apps that needed internet.
My 4th generation iPod touch connects fine and so do other wireless devices on my network, what went wrong and how can I get  my internet back!??
I have tried resetting the connectivity settings, resetting the router, adding the MAC address of the iPad to my routers 'Safe List' (which it wasnt on before it stopped working), and tried turning on and off the iPad.
So what can be done to fix this?
    Thanks in advance

    seananners wrote:
Ok. So after tweaking my IP settings no luck.
Then I set up a Static route then put it into the settings on the ipad under 'static' and finally it works!
A lot of hassle for such an annoying problem but I still have no idea why it didn't connect in the first place!?
You found a work-around. Can't argue with success but you have not solved your problem. You should continue trying to get it to work via dhcp and dynamic addressing.

  • IPad connect to internet but nothing works

I bought an IPad 2  in USA as a gift for my parents who live in Peru, they took it there and now they have a problem. The only app they can use is Skype, everything else does not work, not safari emails, app , nothing, it is conected to internet, it has strong signal  but when they try to use safari or emails or other apps it says is not conected to internet. we use Skype webcam without a problem, but thats it.  We have tried everything, connect and disconnect, reset it twice, but nothing . please help!

What did they reset, the ipad or the router?
What iOS version is installed? (Settings, General, About, Version) 5.1.1 is the latest. Updating it to this, if not already done might help!

  • MacBookPro and iPad connect to internet, but not iPod Touch

    I have a MacBook Pro running 10.8.2
    and a 3G iPad running 6.0.1
Both of these are connecting to WiFi and working correctly.
Also have 4G iPod Touch running 6.0.1
It used to connect with no problems, but no longer does.
I tried this, with no solution:
    - Reset the iOS device. Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    Suggestions, please?
I want my iPod Touch back in use!

Does the iPod connect to other networks?
Does the iPod see the network?
    Any error messages?
    Do other devices now connect?
    Did the iPod connect before?
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router

  • New Ipad Connecting to WiFi but NOT the internet

I have the new iPad (3) and had it set up fine to connect through WiFi.  Recently I activated the Verizon LTE account and used it while on a trip.  Since then, my iPad will not connect to Wifi any longer.   I have tried the following:
-Forgotten the network and tried to log in again fresh...Will connect to my airport extreme but will not connect to internet (Airport utility shows green lights everywhere except for internet, I show a full signal but the wheel just keeps spinning)
-Reset the network settings, same effect
-Reset the entire iPad, same effect
now I am to the point where I have to setup the iPad again via iTunes because it will not connect to the internet via WiFi
I have reset all modems and routers to factory settings and it still doesn't help.
Throughout all of this I am still able to connect to the internet via my airport extreme AND internet using two iphones, apple TV, my mac, and my pc.
Hoping for a solution on here, otherwise it looks like a day at the "genius" bar.

  • IPad shows it it is connected to WiFi but it isn't (nothing will load)

Just accidentally updated my iPad to iOS 7.1.1. Started it up and tried to connect to WiFi. Correct password and the WiFi is working for all different devices, and the iPad appears to connect to it successfully. The icon is there and everything. It's found the IP Address, Router, etc. etc.
However, absolutely nothing will load (not Safari, App Store, anything). It's not a problem with WiFi - all three of my computers and my phone can connect to this WiFi, it's just my newly updated iPad.
There are no addons and no this and that. I restored factory settings. No backups or anything.
    I have:
    1) Restarted my router,
    2) Restarted my iPad,
    3) Dropped my iPad into Recovery Mode and restored it to factory settings and tried again,
    4) Dropped my iPad into DFU Mode and restored it to factory settings and tried again,
    5) Turned off my iPad and tried again,
    6) Turned off my WiFi and tried again,
    7) Reset Network Settings and tried again,
    8) Turned off HTTP Proxy and tried again,
    9) Forgotten the Network and tried again.
So if one of your solutions is one of the nine above, please don't bother answering me.
    Thank you,

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at
    http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.
