IPad Contacts Won't Synch with iCloud Despite Apple Fixes

I added a contact on my iPad (iOS 8.3), but it didn't sync to my iPhone, iMac, or when I check on www.icloud.com.
I've done every single step at Get help using iCloud Contacts - Apple Support but the problem persists.
I am only using iCloud on all devices, and it's the same account.
Any suggestions on what to do next?

Hi Pimpernel,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it sounds like you want to import a vCard to iCloud. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.
iCloud: Import a vCard
In iCloud Contacts, choose Import vCard from the Action pop-up menu , which appears at the bottom of the All Contacts list or a list of group contacts
Select a vCard to import.
Cheers,
Mario

  • Calendar on Macbook Pro won't synch with iCloud

Calendar on my Macbook Pro won't synch with the Calendar on iCloud. I tried a number of times to delete Calendar from iCloud in System Preferences then restart the laptop. I also switched the 'enable' function on and off in Calendar Preferences. I restarted after every attempt and also refreshed. It looks as if it's updating but then nothing happens and the triangular, exclamation mark appears, grayed out, next to the iCloud icon in Calendar. I saw an answer in the Apple Support troubleshooting section regarding this about the server having to access port 80 or 443. Could this be the problem and if so then how would I make any port accessible to the relevant server? I'm not having this problem with my other devices or computer.

    Hello Wateru,
Thank you for providing the details of the calendar issue you are experiencing with your MacBook Pro.  You have taken some really good troubleshooting steps already.  I recommend continuing with the steps in the sections titled "General troubleshooting" and  "Troubleshooting on OS X" in the following article:

  • Contacts won't synch with Outlook

I have a Macbook with snow leopard, an iphone 3GS.  I have been synching the phone with outlook for a long time.  When Outlook 2011 came out there was a problem with synching but the next update fixed it.  Now ALL my contacts have dissappeared from the MAC and I can't get them from Outlook to contacts on the MAC so they won't synch with the iphone. Any ideas on how to get them looking at eachother again?

Hello and thank you for using the Palm Help Forums
First start basic, while device is connected, on your computer go to Start > Programs > Palm (or PalmOne) > Select Sync with Outlook.
Next step will possibly require your Outlook 2003 installation disk. Make sure you have it before doing this next step otherwise you will not be able to sync to Outlook until disk is inserted into your computer. Moving foward, on your computer (while mobile device is connected) open Outlook. In Outlook go to Help > Detect and Repair. You will need to click a button to start the detect and repair. Sometime it will fix itself by doing this, other times Outlook will ask for the installation disk to resolve the issue.
If all else fails, uninstall and reinstall Outlook.

  • IPhone Contacts won't sync with iCloud

    Hi!
I have my Macbook Pro and iPhone 4S synced with iCloud, so everything I do in one device shows up in the other.
About 2 days ago I noticed my iPhone contacts were not syncing with iCloud. Calendars, Notes, etc. is syncing and the Macbook Pro is syncing as well. Only iPhone contacts are not (both ways).
Any ideas are welcome!! Thank you!!!

  • IMac contacts do not synch with iCloud, iPhone & iPad contacts do

When I add/modify contacts on my MacBook Pro, the changes do not synch to iCloud, or my iPhone or iPad.  Calendar items and iCloud mail do synch and contactys synch between my iPhone and iPad.  What am I missing?  I have Lion.

First check that all your settings are correct, that contact syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the contacts you are adding are added to your 'iCloud' group and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud group (you can do this by checking in groups), non iCloud contacts will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your contacts are in the iCloud group, you might try unchecking contact syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling contact syncing.

  • IPad Contacts won't synch.

My Contacts info will not synch between IPad and Mac or between IPad and IPhone. Mac to IPhone works ok. I have checked iCloud settings, have turned Contacts off and on on the IPad. Notes synch ok between IPhone and IPad. Mail is ok.
The only clue I can offer is that, 2 weeks ago, I tried synching the IPhone to the Mac using a cable rather than the iCloud, and had to stop the synch in the middle because too many photos were being downloaded. A number of my Apps disappeared on the IPhone at the same time, and I had to reload them manually.
Does any of this make any sense? Does anyone have any useful suggestions?
    Thanks.

I have found the answer to my own question. I had created a new iCloud account with my apple ID and this seemed to confuse the synch. I deleted this ID from the ipad and reverted to my me.com account, then synced with iCloud over wifif instead of itunesn hrough hard wire and presto, all my contacts are now on my iPad!

  • Contacts won't sync with icloud

I've recently upgraded my Mac's and can't get my Contacts to upload to icloud. Prior to the OS upgrades I only had access to the cloud on my iphone, which had just a few numbers input on my phone. All my business contacts were on my non-Cloud using Macbookpro, most originally created in Entourage, but transfered via .vcf card to Mac Mail's address book a couple of years ago. There are around 2,000 entries, separated into numerous sub folders for business, family, societies etc.
I now have a brand new OS10.10 imac (no addresses on it at all), and have updated my Macbook pro to OS10.10. My contact entries are all there on the desktop, but won't upload to icloud. I've checked all the account settings on my macbookpro - icloud is the default for Contacts, and is selected in the Mac Accounts system prefs. I've tried switching these on and off and restarting the mac, but still nothing appears on the cloud. Thinking there might be some kind of interference from the handful of numbers on my iphone I deleted all the addresses on the cloud, so there are no addresses on the cloud at all now. Icloud appears on the macbook Contacts menu, so it's definitely connected, but it remains empty.
I only have one Apple account, so there's no problem there.
    Any suggestions?

  • Contacts won't sync with iCloud on Mac

I'm running 10.8.2 on several Macs.  I have iCloud enabled on each Mac.  One of my Macs, however, will not sync Contacts to iCloud.  Everything worked fine prior to the latest upgrade, but now this one Mac is like its own Contact Island.  Nothing I create there gets off the island, and nothing on iCloud makes it to the island.  iCal syncs, Safari syncs, Mail syncs, but not Contacts!
As far as I can tell all my settings on these devices are identical.  iCloud (in System Prefs) has Contacts checked; Mail, Contacts, and Calendars (in System Prefs) has contacts checked (under iCloud); Contacts Accounts tab has iCloud enabled.
Mostly Contacts acts as if it's happily syncing (the little spin-y wheel spins next to the iCloud label above my Groups list, then it looks like a lightning bolt of some kind), but it never actually syncs.  (And I don't ever actually see the spin-y ball thing on any of my other Macs that do sync, so maybe that's a sign of a problem?)  Once it gave me an error "CoreDAVErrorDomain error 1," but I haven't seen that again.
    What am I missing?
This is driving me nuts.  Help!
    Mark

Update: suddenly, after not updating, the contacts I first put on my iPhone yesterday suddenly updated onto my Mac. Phone and Mac have been on lines plenty of times since then, so why didn't the contact details go up onto iCloud in all that time?

  • HT1296 When synching Outlook Contacts and calendars with iTunes for Windows, I do not get the option to "Synch Contacts with". It says, and cannot be changed, that it is synching with iCloud.  How do I get iTunes to give me an option other than iCloud?

Using iTunes for Windows to synch my Outlook Contacts and Calendars into my iPhone 5, with the iPhone Device designated and in the Info tab, I do not have the option to "Synch Contacts with", but have an unchangeable message that it is synching with iCloud. How do I create that option to synch with Outlook?

  • Pages on iPad not synching with iCloud

I have iCloud set up on my iPad. I have iCloud turned on in Pages. However, none of my files are uploading. All the Apple IDs and passwords are fine. Could it be I don't have the cellular plan turned on? I rely on my home wifi network.

OK... here's the low-down from Apple-care.  They put out the update, but it will cause pages (and keynote?, and ???) not to synch with iCloud.  They knew it... they put it out anyway, and it won't be fixed until they do the new, free update to Yosemite sometime later this month.  I did find an end-around though.  E-mail your document to yourself and open it up in pages.  Pain in the posterior... and certainly not Apple-Tech, but it is a workable solution until they fix their blunder.  Oh... did you update your iPad to 8.0.1 and it mess you up?  They pulled that and sent out 8.0.2.  Wow... I'd think i was back in PC land... Not cool.

  • IPad 3 and iPhone 4S won't synch with iTunes on Mac book pro. Error message says I need to have version 10.6.3 pr later for iTunes.

iPad 3 and iPhone 4S won't synch with iTunes on Mac book pro. Error message says I need to have version 10.6.3 or later  for iTunes.  Mac iOS version 10.5.8 and iTunes on Mac is 10.6.1. iPad and iPhone version is 6.0(10A403). When I check for updates on the Mac book pro it says software versions are up to date.
When I check for iTunes version  10.6.3 it looks like it is for snow leopard operating system which I am not on. How to I get my devices to sync with computer. Everything worked prior to iOS 6 upgrade on remote devices.

    I'm having the same problem.
iPhone 4s won't sync with my Macbook Pro.
I iust updated the iPhone to iOS6 (thought it wasn't syncing before the update either).
Macbook Pro running Mac OS 10.5.8
iTunes 10.6.3 (i.e. latest update - which hasn't had an issues apart from syncing).
I tried 3 different USB sync cables. Still not syncing.
Do I really have to update my Mac OS to 10.6.8 in order to sync my phone ? I thought as long as you have iTunes 10.6.3 you're ok...
Is there a way to update to Mac OS 10.6.8 (or later) without wiping the hard drive and doing a new install?..
    thanks

I use Touchdown from Nitodesk for my work email. Its a little pricey, but it works with your companys OWA (Outlook Web Access) portal. They do have a 30 day trial that they insist that you try to make sure it will work for you before you shell out any money for the app. It syncs the Calendar, notes, tasks, emails etc.
It has a discovery feature that it will figure out what it needs to configure. All you need to provide is how you log into OWA (Username/password, website) and the program does the rest. It works very well for me.
No I am not employed by Nitrodesk. I only use the program. There was no need to ask my IT people to set anything up for me.
Give it a try, it might work as well for you too.
One day I will have to give this app a try, I am just use to configuring my device to sync without a 3rd party app but I have heard that Touchdown seems to be the best thing going to setup a corp sync process..

Thanks King_Penguin for taking time to read and reply.
I just purchased this movie on Thursday, May 15, so just a few days ago.  I have never had any trouble whatsoever since I have been in Vietnam.  I have downloaded several movies and even music and they have all synced to my respected Apple products except for this purchase.
Sorry, I don't quite understand what you mean by studios and different versions.  Could you please explain?
I checked my purchased list in my purchase history under my account and there are no hidden items.

  • IPod not synching with iCloud

    Hi.
I have successfully loaded an album onto my PC.  It has been matched with iCloud.  The album appears on my iPad but not on my iPod (which is where I need it to be).
I have turned on/off wifi & iCloud on my iPod several times but it still won't synch with the cloud.
I seem to be having synch problems with my iPod lately. Not sure if it's since Idownloaded the latest iOS.

  • Does Mac Outlook synch with iCloud?

After spending a couple of hours at Genuis bar and another 90 minutes on the phone with tech support, I wanted to let the community know that Mac Outlook does not synch with iCloud.  The calendar and contact updates go into a "on the Mac" part of iCal and Address Book respectively.  The updates in these sections do not get synched up to iCloud and therefore to your mobile devices.
As I had searched for an answer to this question on the web previously and did not find any entry so I wanted to ensure that others looking for answer can get it (without tying up Apple's tech support resources).  The extra time that I spent was trying to remove and resynch these databases before finding someone who knew the answer.
For calendar activities, you can reclass them into an iCloud category manually.  For contact update, you have to also put them into the Address Book.
I hope this helps.  Hopefully, Apple provides the access and Microsoft implements the code required to synch these services.

Thank you so much for unequivocally clearing this up! I have spent the last few days trying to work this out as I found it insane that I can easily sync Outlook (2007 I think it is) on my PC with the iCloud but couldn't get it to work on my husbands Outlook for Mac 2011.
I hope people find your post first rather than wading through a million other posts in utter frustration like I did! Whilst it's still frustrating at least I have some peace that I'm not missing something.
    Thanks again!
