IPad cookies not saving in Safari or Opera?

I've been trying to help a friend of mine... He has an iPad and has tried both Safari and Opera, but websites never remember him (guessing due to cookie issues?).
His browser settings are set to allow cookies, does anyone have any suggestions on another issue that may cause this?

Could be a problem between 1st party cookies and 3rd party cookies, if the sign in process is somehow dropping a 3rd party cookie Safari may well be refusing this.

  • Where are my videos? Ipad videos not saving after long recording time.

    I have been trying to set my ipad up as a surveillance camera to observe animal activity at night at my zoo.  However, after letting the video app record for an hour or more, it shows that I have used storage space, but the video is not in my photos/videos folder.  I am using the light boost app, and it appears to be recording properly. I have successfully recorded videos 10 mins in length, but if I let it run for a long period of time, the videos do not appear.
    Is there a limitation on the recording length? Why would it show the app has used up all my memory when the videos are not being saved? Or are they being saved in some mysterious place?
    Additionally, does anyone know of a better way to do this? I have a very limited budget, and am trying to avoid buying expensive surveillance equipment or video cameras.
    Thanks

    According to Light Boost the videos are being stored in the Photos - Camera Roll to which you must give access permission see Settings > Privacy. Permission to use the microphone is also necessary.
    If you are having problems contact Light Boost for help.

  • Passwords not saving in safari

    Since downloading Mountain Lion, Safari won't ask me to save passwords anymore.  I have tried the settings in Safari and the Keychain access.  I'm just confused! The saving passwords option is a life saver/time saver! Any advice?

    There's an extension for Safari that works!! I just installed it and tried it out. It's now filling in my PayPal and other passwords that would NOT autofill before. The username and password have to be in Kaychain Access before it will work. For all of us who had this working prior to Safari 6, this shouldn't be an issue, as the info was already in Keychain Access.
    If it's a new site that you haven't saved for before, manually add it into Keychain Access.
    It appears Safari 6 now complies with websites who have "autocomplete=off" hidden in the URL, which is why passwords aren't automatically populating like before.
    Here's the download link for the extension. Clicking this link will automatically download the extension. http://lapcatsoftware.com/downloads/autocomplete.safariextz

  • JSP set cookies not read by Safari and IE

    I'm not sure if I'm in the right list but i've searched all over for an answer and this has been bugging me for 2 days now.
    I have two simple JSPs . one that sets a cookie and one that reads it.
    //setting the cookie
    String msisdn = "numberko";
    Cookie theMsisdn = new Cookie("msisdn", msisdn);
    theMsisdn.setMaxAge(60);
    theMsisdn.setPath("/");
    response.addCookie(theMsisdn);
    //getting the cookie
    Cookie theCookie = null;
    Cookie[] cookieList = request.getCookies();
    if(cookieList != null) {
    for(int i = 0; i < cookieList.length; i++) {
    theCookie = cookieList;
    if(theCookie.getName().equals("msisdn")) {
    System.out.println("msisdn: "+theCookie.getValue());
    }else{
    System.out.println("null cookilist");
    Tried this code on Firefox and it works fine but doesn't work on Safari or IE (Cookies are enabled on these browsers)
    I don't understand why these two browsers don't save the cookie
    Hope someone can help or at least point me to the right forum

  • IPad mini not connecting to safari

    We just got back from a trip with our iPad mini, and now we cannot open apps (except game apps) at home - the message says "initialization error - unable to download data." In safari web pages time out and say "server stopped responding." We have wifi and we have done a reset - any other ideas on what we can do?

    I have the same problem. We have 2 mini iPads about 1 month old and both have stopped working but only safari. Email works fine as does everything else. Have tried turning iCloud synch off for Safari and resetting. Still says server not responding but works fine with wi-fi???

  • Photos not saving from safari...or any other browser

    I recently update my iPhone 5 to iOs 7 and now photos will not save from any browser app. I usually use iCab mobile as my browser but it was saying it didn't have permission to access my photos. So I went to privacy and it wasn't even available to give permission to. I decided it was iCab and then I went to chrome and tried to save a picture. I hit save image, but it didn't go anywhere. So I finally decided to try safari and the same thing yet again. Save image appears but doesn't seem to save anywhere. Am I missing some thing or is this some sort of bug?

    Is the iPhone using your Mac to connect?
    See if the Mac has any Proxies set...
    10.5/10.6 instructions, System Preferences>choose interface>Advanced>Proxies Tab, make sure none are set, like for  HTTPS.

    Hi foxnao,
    This is a known issue with Firefox 12. You can see the bug here: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=749527
    It is fixed in FF 13 that should be release very soon. If it is big inconvenience you could download the Beta now.
    Hopefully this helps!

  • IPad 2 not connected to Safari

    Just received iPad2 as a gift on October 10, 2011.  I have been using it successfully until this past weekend of October 22nd.  I now get numerous messages that Safari can't connect to the internet even though the WiFi symbol indicates connected with full bars.  Any suggestions?

    This may be on the carrier-side of the problem. Contact your 3G provider to see if they have a solution to this situation.

  • VPN settings not saved after upgrading ipad

    I got an ipad mini so I did a backup of my ipad 3 and restored that copy to the ipad mini.
    Everything was restored ok with the exception of my VPN settings, it's a VPN from work and now I can only access that network from my ipad 3, not form ipad mini.
    Please help

    I'm having the same problem too. I backed up my iPad 3 settings and downloaded to my iPad mini, now the exchange email settings won't save.
    The credentials are exactly the same as my iPhone, bit it keeps giving the message 'unable to verify account information'
    Anyone else having this issue with the iPad mini not saving settings?

  • Pictures taked with Camera are not saved.

    When taking pictures using my iPad Air the app functions normally but the pictures are not saved to the iPad.  Am I missing a setting somewhere in Settings?

    Yes, they are on the "Camera Roll".
    When I had iPad (the original) these are saved pictures from various apps (Facebook, Wikipedia, emails, ......)
    When I up graded to iPad Air everything transfered over.  Thus pictures are stored in "Camera Roll".
    This still does not explain why pictures taked on the iPad are not saved anywhere.
    Thanks for the response.

  • PNG images not displaying in Safari iPad

    Hi all,
    We have developed a webpage that loads PNG images in a div that can expand / reduce.
    The issue i cant seem to solve is why the PNG images do not load on Safari iPad. They just display as blue question marks. However not an issue with PC browsers.
    The link is here: http://bit.ly/yBDKl9
    Any ideas or suggestions will be welcomed.
    King regards,
    Matt

    Thanks for this.  Looks like I'm going to have to reduce the size of my image since I've noticed the same problem on an iPhone 3GS.  My original is big but only 2 colour. I don't like ragged edges so best make it 16 shades of grey first so the edges on the smaller image are a bit softer (PaintShop Pro can cope with this). I am certainly not going to degrade it with JPEG zits!
    This problem only appears with reduced images (eg. using the HTML style="width:50%;") - if I view source and click on the image link, the full sized image appears, but is far too big for the screen.
    Symptomatic of a not-very-good operating system/browser since even M$ got that bit right! BTW - llawjm's website still has the problem he described on my iPhone, but looks fine on a Tesco Hudl (Android) and Firefox on a PC.

  • On my mini ipad, I cleared the cookies/histories in the safari setting.  But what does the advance-setting of the clearing the website data does?  What's that used for? Thank you!

    On my mini ipad, when I'm on the internet -- a few times I will see a blue small pop-up boxes telling me to allow down/load or add something like the bubble-splash game or something similar.  I jusr click ignore and it goes away.. I'm not sure why it's showing up lately.. I'm not sure if it's a virus or hacked in or a web brower matter..
    Should I go to the cookies/histories in the safari setting and have it cleared out?  Will that help resolve that??
    And what does the advance-setting of the clearing the website data does?  Sorry, I'm not familiar.. what's is that used for? Should I use that feature as well?? Thank you!

    This indicates corrupt files.
    A restore should resolve.

  • Safari always opens with "Welcome to Safari" screen. Home page not saved.

    After a clean reinstall of Yosemite on our mid-2010 iMac and an upgrade to Safari 8.0.2, my partner is greeted with the "Welcome To Safari" screen each time he launches Safari.
    In addition, his home page is not saved and the Favorites bar, which is set to be displayed by default, does not show.
    My own Safari experience is unaffected.
    Has anybody else experienced this and any suggestions on how to fix it?
    Thanks in advance.
