IPad crashes PC laptop with blue screen of death when syncing

I just got a brand new iPad and I cannot sync a bunch of songs or photos without it just completely shutting down my laptop (PC)and giving me the "blue screen of death". I tried reinstalling iTunes, disconnecting any USB connections I may have and completely updating my lappy...but nothing works! Why can't apple just make something as simple as "syncing" work? Do I have to buy a Mac in order for my iPad to work properly?! Please help me out with this syncing problem.

Hello iPadgirl777,
And welcome to Apple Discussions!

  • Blue screen of death when syncing verizon I phone

I receive a blue screen of death when I try to sync my I phone 4 with I tunes on my laptop. The initial sync went fine, I am connected to my Exchange server for email and have downloaded CD's to I Tunes, when I try to sync...blue screen. I have run registry fix and virus programs and have no errors. Does anyone know how to fix this?

The first response was correct, the computer (xps 1210) used a logitech camera driver that I did not recognize so I deleted it. The software was still active and crashed the computer. Fix was reinstall logitech software and driver. Updating the driver would have probably worked. Thank you!

  • Blue Screen of Death when syncing with iTunes. Please HELP!

I have noticed a few others experiencing this problem as well.
    http://www.everythingiphone.com/forum/windows-pc-and-iphone/blue-screen-error-wh en-i-plug-the-phone-into-my-xp-laptop-3038.html
Aside from the (don't use windows XP comments), does anyone have any information on this? I have emailed Apple a couple times but have gotten no answer back yet.
What is happening is that when I plug in my iphone to itunes a "Digital Still Camera" pops up in the system tray and then blue screen of death appears. Some people have said that all you have to do is delete all your photos and it will sync, but does anyone have any other suggestions without having to delete all my photos anytime I want to sync?
Thanks for the help in advance.

  • Blue Screen Of Death When Syncing Ipod

Hey so if anyone can help me i will love you so much,
So I have a 20GB fourth generation ipod (old i know) but it works fine, and i have an new HP laptop that i got for christmas and like for a good 2 months everything was fine with itunes and then one time it told me i needed to restore my ipod to factory settings and i was like oh this is annoying but whatever ive done it before so i just did it, but the next time i tried syncing my ipod the BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH came up and that scared me but i thought maybe it was just a one time thing...turns out it wasnt and now every time i try to sync my ipod the blue screen comes up and i have to restart my computer. my itunes otherwise works fine i listen to music on it and add music to itunes perfectly fine just the syncing doesnt work. I also thought maybe it could be my ipod because it is old so i went down to my desktop which has XP and and older version of itunes but it worked completly fine. SOOOOOOOOOOO i have no idea what to do. i dont know tons about computers but im not ******** and can most likely follow directions so if anyone could help me it would be much apreciated because i can not take listening to the god awful radio in the car much longer.

Have you tried System Restore to go back to before the problem started?
If that fixes the Blue Screen Of Death issue, then you can try and track down the changes from then to when the problem started.
    Good Luck.

  • Occasional Blue Screen of Death when syncing!

I have a Lenovo Laptop...T500...sometimes when I sync my iPad it will error out with the BSOD with an "IRQ Not Less than..." error or somthing like that.
What I noted was that it usually happens if I am transferring purchases one way or the other...like too much data is trying to be pushed through the USB and it cannot handle the back and forth...
My question is...could this be a settings issue...?
Obviously it is inconvenient because it requires me to reboot the PC and start over again....sometime it will crash 5 times in a row before it works...
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
Could be your security software causing this. Follow the instrucitons here.

  • Blue screen of death when syncing to iPod and iPhone.

I wish I could laugh. "Upgraded" to iTunes 8 and no longer can use my computer to sync to either my iPhone or my iPod. Thanks for the upgrade Apple. Now that I cannot update my portable music devices I have the extra time to stare at the new visualizer. Woooopie.
Apple is happy to point out how unfriendly Microsoft products are, but since I got this Vista box I have never seen the BSOD... Until tonight.
So, what to do? Wait for a "solution" to my upgrade, or try to remove 8 and reinstall 7? After reading about the changes to the iTunes library making a revert difficult, I am thinking I watch TV instead of listen to music. On the television... that is...

Replying to own thread because I wanted to share success. Turned power off on HP Laserjet. No reboot needed. Launched iTunes and performed sync with iPod and iPhone. Happy days. Even happier when Apple redoes driver so I can use iTunes without having to power off my printer.
An honest mistake... I would imagine it would be very difficult to find a beta tester that had that combo of hardware. Imagine... Vista and a HP Laserjet. Oh... I guess we are the beta testers...

  • Blue Screen of Death when Sync Attempted Now

Just installed the drivers for a newly purched HP AIO wireless printer/scanner Photosmart B209... went to Sync my iPhone this morning and was greated by a lovely BSOD when I attempted to sync... when it rebooted it attempted to SYNC but it moved incredibly slow through the backup operation... otherwise seemed to sync fine.... tried to sync again this PM and BSOD'd again...

The first response was correct, the computer (xps 1210) used a logitech camera driver that I did not recognize so I deleted it. The software was still active and crashed the computer. Fix was reinstall logitech software and driver. Updating the driver would have probably worked. Thank you!

  • Ipad 2 is getting a blue screen of death

Just a couple of days ago, my Ipad has started getting a blue screen of death. It gets a blue screen, and then shuts itself off. When it restarts, it's unresponsive for about 4-5 minutes before letting me using it again. When it lets me use it again, I have about 10 minutes before it starts all over. I'm hoping this is something that can be fixed whether hardware or software is the problem. I definitely don't want to have to spend $700 for the new iPad as good as it may be. I'm also serving in Manama, Bahrain for the next couple of years, and this island is no where near an Apple store.

I would try to reset the iPad via iTunes, I don't think the problem is software based thou. I once had a mac mini which behaved simularly, the problem disapered when I changed the RAM, this isn't possible on the iPad thou.
In the end, you probably have to do what Johnathan states.
edit: I dont know if it's still this way, but ealier Apple have been giving world wide warrenty on thier mobile devices.

  • Blue Screen of Death When Plugging in Ipod Touch 4g

    Hello,
Im reciving blue screen of death when I plug in my ipod touch 4g. I have updated itunes, Drivers, This happens every time and I suspect it happens when my computer says found new hardware reconizing the ipod as a camera because once I pluged my ipod in and it didn't pop up found camera hardware and it worked. So does anyone know how to fix this or disable my comp from reconizing the ipod as a camera? Thanks in advance
p.s im using XP service pack 3

have u tried pluging an other usb (eg mp3 or mem stick) it to ur compuer? is it doing it with these?
if its only doing this with ur ipod try the following
1 go to start menu and in the search box type in usb
    look for device manager
    2. open the disk drives and plug in ipod touch and removeable disk should show up
    3, try usb drives updates
because the ipod has a camera most older computers running xp think its a camera,
if u have and usb mem stick copy ur itunes folder on to it and copy it to a computer running vista or windows 7 and c it its doing it on one of them, if its doing it on one them there may be other hardware isues with ur ipod touch

  • Blue screen of death when La Cie external firewire drive connected

I tested a LaCie external firewire drive on my iMac and it worked fine. I packed it up well and posted it to a friend who gets the blue screen of death when the LaCie is connected to her iMac. She's not even trying to boot from it.
My iMac is 9.1  and hers is 8.1.  We are both running Snow Leopard.  Was there some problem once upon a time with chipsets or am I mis-remembering?
    TIA

Create an ISO (Encore) or folder on your hard drive (Encore or Premiere Elements) and then use the FREE http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download to write files or folders or ISO to disc for DVD or BluRay (send the author a PayPal donation if you like his program)
Imgburn will read the ACTUAL disc brand from the disc, which is not always the same as the box label (Memorex is notorious for buying "anything" and putting it inside a Memorex box)
When you write to disc with Imgburn, use the SLOWEST possible speed setting, so your burner has the best chance to create "good, well formed" laser burn holes... since no player is required to read a burned disc, having a "good" one from a high quality blank will help

  • Blue screen of death when accessing Itunes store

Whenever I click on the Itunes store, the computer crashes and I get blue screen of death.

You haven't given your operating system.
If you are getting a blue screen stop, it would help if you could post the exact error message. It should be some sort of numbers and text -
    0x(zeros/letters/numbers) (CAPSANDUNDERSCORES)
    For example:
    Stop 0x05 (INVALIDPROCESS_ATTACHATTEMPT)
Also *is a file name mentioned* in the error message? If so give the exact file name
if you're not seeing a blue screen (or just a flash of one), you can use this technique to make hidden blue screens appear:
    1) Open your system control panel (Start->Control Panels->System).
    2) Select the "Advanced" tab.
    3) Click the "Settings" button in the "Startup and Recovery" section
    4) Verify that under "System Failure" the "Automatically restart" checkbox is not checked.

  • IPad ios8 random reboot with blue screen

    Hi everyone,
I Know this question has been posted already but I'm so frustrated.
after upgrading to iOS 8 my iPad air started to reboot randomly with blue screen at least 5 to 6 times a day.
when will apple provide an update fixing this issue? Since it seems more common.
    model: iPad air wifi only
    ios: 8.0.2
i have tried turning off iCloud sync as many suggested but it didn't help.
reboots are frequent when I'm using safari.
most of the time the diagnostic log shows WDT timeout

    Try Barry's suggestion first.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again.  Also, read this.

  • Notebook with blue screen of death and HP Ceement errors

    Hello, I am using:
Product name: HP Pavilion g7 Notebook PC
    Product number: QE310UA#ABA
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Service Pack 1
I have been having a few message/errors lately and suspect they are related
    1) The "blue screen of death" has shut down operations a few times now, that I have seen. When it reboots, all my passwords are gone, all new log ins are required. I know it's been happening more than I see because my passwords will dissapear while I am away from my laptop and I had not seen it.
    2) Error message "HP CEEment has stopped working, windows is looking for a solution to solve this problem", comes up a lot. Daily, usually twice at a time. I googled this and a few "answers" said to look at your firewall and to "allow" HP Ceement. I called Norton and they showed me that it is allowed, so they are not the issue and to contact HP, hence why I am here.
    3) Not sure if this last one is part of the issue, but it has come up more than once lately. Error "Your current settings do not allow file to be downloaded". I ssupect when the computer reboots after the blue screen the security is automatically heightened and that is why I got this, as well as loose passwords and a couple other "secruity level" type problems.
    Thanks for the help, Amy

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.
I can offer the following in hopes that it may help.
First, a bit about the CEEment program:
    CEEment Overview
    Excerpted:
CEEment stands for Customer Experience Enhancement. CEEment (HPCEE.exe) is the reporting tool that HP uses to collect and study anonymous data. You can activate CEEment when you set up your computer. Or, you can activate using HP Advisor or HP Support Assistant at any time.
    Commentary
It might be that the CEEment program is not the direct cause of the problem, that is, the issue might be symptomatic of the underlying problems -- it may be part of the train wreck, so-to-speak.
In any case, while the system is up and running you can try the following to fix the issue or to at least try to eliminate the CEEment program from the mix.
Download Install a new copy of the latest version of the HP Support Assistant on your system:
    HP Support Assistant
If you have ‘Admin’ control, you may highlight the package and “double-click” to install it, else Right-Click, Select run as Administrator and install.
    Reboot the system
If you like, you can switch OFF the CEEment program and the other checks that HP Support Assistant performs on your system.
Example (HP Support Assistant Version 7.4.45.4)
Open the HP Support Assistant > Settings >
Scroll down to Warranty and Services >
Next to Check warranty now >>
CHECK No, I do not want to send this data >
Scroll down to Would you like to share anonymous usage data with HP? >
    CHECK No >
Under Welcome Screen (if necessary) >>
UNCHECK Show a welcome screen when I open HP Support Assistant >
    Click Save
    Dragon Tips
You may want to create an extra / new account with administrator privileges on the computer in case the issue is related in some way to your account.
You do want to make sure you have your personal data backed up -- make an extra effort to make sure your critical data is backed up somewhere other than on the computer.  Make a copy of those files to a USB drive or to the Cloud.  Make sure you include your bookmarks.

  • Same problem everyone else is having with Blue screen of death

Only I have a dell dimension e521 brand new computer have had for about 3 months now and my ipod worked fine until today. I plug it in the usb port and in about 5 minutes my computer will go to the blue screen of death. If I unplug the ipod I can work on my computer with no problems but the 5 minutes after plugging in the ipod the computer goes to BSOD. I am also working off of Windows Vista. Any fixes you can think of will be greatly appreciated. I saw other people where having similar problems but I didn't see anyone working off a dell.
    Thanks!

Well I've tried PRETTY MUCH all of the suggested solutions. I really don't feel like going out and buying another SCI card for my laptop only to find out it doesn't fix the problem. Yes, I'm on a Dell Inspiron 4150 laptop, running XP and connecting the iPod through the USB port on the SCI card (it's a dual card, which also has a firewire port).
I also don't feel like going through the hassle of buying a firewire cable only to find out that it doesn't fix anything either.
I spent a good hour on the phone with Apple tech support and got nowhere. She had me uninstalling, re-installing, re-booting, running msconfig, turning off Norton, setting the iPod in "disk mode", uninstalling and reinstalling some more, etc. and in the end nothing made a difference!
I can get the Updater to recognize the iPod, but when I click the "restore" button I keep getting that "can't mount iPod" error. (And I know for a fact that Windows is installed on the C Drive, so that can't be the problem.)
This is so frustrating. The tech support lady said if the last thing didn't work (which it didn't) then to call them back and they would continue to try and figure out how to solve the problem.
It really shouldn't be this complicated, should it? Why don't they make an iPod that is pre-formatted for use with a PC??
