Ipad crashes while syncing iPad

Uploaded Itunes 10.4(80) and now sync crashes when syncing my iPad (version1).  Error only says "iTunes quit unexpectedly".  Reinstalled iTunes and same problem. Any have any help?

I started having the exact same problem after upgrading to iTunes 10.4.  Actually iTunes was crashing when syncing music as well as photos to my iPad 2, but Apple had me do a complete restore on my iPad 2 which stopped the crashes when syncing music (so far as I restored from backup after doing the sync), but I would still crash when optimizing 2 new photos I was trying to sync.
I renamed the iPod cache folder and iTunes optimized about 2500 out of 2700 photos and then crashed. I ended up restoring the iPod cache folder and then syncing one album at a time.  It crashed trying to sync photos from my iPhone so I simply deleted the 2 new photos and it synced.
I have a feeling though if I try to sync any new photos it will crash again.  I may have to restore again, but this time not restore from sync which would be a major PITA.

Most frusterating. Also if I have a large movie file it crashes while backing during a sync....
    Any thoughts?

  • Crash while Syncing - Touch IOS 6.1.6 and Spotify App 1.8.1.8

I have been struggling with the spotify app since the previous version. In fact it has been a nightmare since the new look came out.
I am also running the specs as above. I have tried all the suggestions - including re installing my firmware through iTunes.
The app seems to crash while trying to sync playlists for offline use. It will sync a handfull then crash - and I have to keep restarting the app every time (i have just over 2 thousand tracks that now need re-downloading.) it is taking forever!
I have tried Uninstalling/Re-installing the app
I have tried a Hard Reset on the Ipod
I have tried changing the language and region settings
I have tried over a different WiFi Network (no 3g connection available)
I have tried reinstalling firmware via itunes
I hope the developers pick up on this and try launching a version that works on older devices.
    cheers

I'm running into the same issues. The only difference is that I have an iPhone 5 with iOS 8.1. I had about 2000 songs synced and suddenly the app crashed, even though the phone was locked. When I restarted the app, all of my music was no longer synced and all attempts to sync them back results in the app crashing.
I've also tried reinstalling it, to no avail.

  • Itunes crashes while syncing photos to 3gs

I'm running a new pc with win7, itunes 10 and an iphone 3gs with os 4.1. All apps and video sync fine. the problem is when I have the iphone open in the devices column, and i click on the photo tab, the option to sync selected folders is greyed out. I then click on the my pictures tab and go to choose folder, itunes crashes completly.
I have tried the delete the ipod photo cache folder route, but that hasn't made a difference. Any suggestions would be most welcome.

I am having exactly the same problem with my iPad, would be great if we could get some support!
Have tried deleteing/renaming the iPad Photo Cache folder, no love. Reinstalled iTunes, restored the ipad, and still nothing.
    Please help!

  • Crashing while syncing

Anybody else have an issue with junktunes while trying to do a sync on an iPhone or Ipod? If I wait too long to sync (like a couple months), junktunes crashes like a brick after 10 or 15 seconds every time. Pitiful...

is itunes up to date? thats what updates are for

  • IPodcauses itunes to crash while syncing

I just recently got my ipod touch 3rd generation. I'm running windows xp. I have my  itunes up to date (10.2.2.12). I've tried reading all the forums but can't find anything to fix it. Every time i try to sync my ipod it automatically starts syncing/backing up and can't have yet to make it to 100 songs before itunes crashes and the sync doesnt complete. i have around 4200 songs total. so far the methods i've tried to fix are as follows: [none of these worked]
    -deauthorize and re authorize itunes
    -uninstall and reinstall itunes
    -restart computer
-delete the "backup file" and add it back
-doing manual sync rather than auto sync
I did try syncing on my friends mac and it worked perfectly. we're both running itunes 10.2. But then when i tried to erase and re-sync my library it just caused itunes to crash again. so i think it either has to do with windows or my particular itunes somehow.
lastly, idk how much this helps but i have the "tuneUp" program on my computer that adds cover art and organizes your music. about 3 days ago it randomly quit working and i have yet to fix it. it may have changed itunes settings somehow??
please help! i really want to use my new ipod!!!!

It is certainly possible that the crash will or already has affected the OS that was being installed. It really depends on where it was at in the process of the install...
If you're up for it, then the safe side answer would be to do another full restore and start over...
As a side suggestion, if you do that then make sure you choose restore as new iPhone...NOT restore from backup when asked...
Also, if you use MAC to sync, then you can also delete the currently saved software OS being used by iTunes when a restore is performed...I'm sure you can do that using a PC I just have no idea where that file is located and stored on PC...Once deleted from the computer, when you click restore it forces iTunes to pull down a fresh copy of the latest OS from the Apple server...

  • IPod Crashes while syncing and fully charged

    Hi,
My Ipod crashes when its fully charged and syncing to Itunes. Anyone know how to fix?
    Thanks,

Well, I tried the five R's. My iPod still crashes out after about a 1/4 of a gig gets synched up.
I get an error message "unexpected error unable to write to ipod -124" or something like that.
What's strange is my iPod will be fully charged. Then, in the couple minutes most the iPod says its low on battery. -- I had a battery replaced only about a year ago.
Has anyone come across this problem?

  • Desktop Software Crashes While Syncing... after initial reboot

This not my phone, I only have to make it work here in the office.
    Device:  Tour 9630
    Carrier:  Sprint
    OS:  Windows 7 Enterprise, 32-bit
    Email:  Outlook 2010, 32-bit
I can install the desktop software and get the phone to sync with Outlook Calendar and Address book just fine.
I can then sync and sync and sync all day... until I reboot the PC.
Then when I sync the desktop software will begin crashing at some point during the sync.  Sometimes during the address book sync, sometimes during the calendar sync, and sometimes immeadiately.
Now if I close and restart the desktop manager and try again, it might work, it might not.
I'm not sure why it would sync fine right after setup but after reboot I have problems.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

    Hey theknight571,
    Welcome to the forums.
Try doing a clean uninstall of the BlackBerry Desktop Software. Then reinstall it in an admin account on the PC. http://bbry.lv/rbGsYK Once this is completed configure and try to sync again to see if you have the same issue.

I restored to factory defaults an 80 gig ipod and ran scandisk. All seems fine with the ipod. When I try to sync it to reload the music from the latest ver of iTunes it crashes at about the same point every time. This is the error message I get. I sure would love to know how to fix this.

  • ITunes crashes while syncing iPod 5th Gen.

I have begun encountering massive errors when attempting to sync my 5th Gen. iPod to iTunes 7.5 on my HP laptop. Almost immediately after the iPod is detected, a Vista window pops up, stating that an error has occurred and iTunes must close. Several times after this has happened, my computer has automatically restarted itself, several times going to a blue screen where it appears that major disk analysis takes place. I was once able to stop syncing and keep iTunes open with my iPod attached; I restored it to see if that could help the issue, but nothing has changed. I have reinstalled both iTunes and Quicktime, and I have tried one of the 7.4 versions of iTunes as well. Nothing is helping. Any ideas or suggestions would be immensely appreciated.

I have a Dell Dimension. I have just upgraded from XP to Vista with a clean install. 5th Gen Ipod no longer works with iTunes 7.5 esp when syncing photos - it takes 5 minutes per photo and crashes after 5 photos.
Having Googled this it seems there are many similar issues

  • ITunes 10.4.10-10.5 Crashes while syncing?

Okay, everytime I try to sync my iPod Touch 4G, iTunes gets to the end of,"Backing Up" and then crashes. It doesn't slow down or anything, it just says that there was a problem, and iTunes needs to close. It immediatley crashes. I am running Windows 7, I am not trying to sync through a USB Hub or anything, it's directly into my USB 2.0 drive on my computer, and with an official Apple sync cable. I have tried reinstalling iTunes, and even restoring my iPod mulitple times. I have had this problem with 10.4.10, and 10.5. Called iTunes about it, and I'm outside of AppleCare, so they won't listen to me. Is anyone having this problem, and has anyone found a solution? I can't get any of my stuff back, I barely managed to manually add all of my songs by dragging them there. Please guys, this is a bad bug with iTunes, and I have never Jailbroken or been unsafe with my iPod, I have no idea why this is happenning, please get the word out about this post, and try your best to help. Thanks.

Okay, I take that back: it didn't solve it on second time, but I think I found a possible solution.
    1. When syncing starts in iTunes, immediately cancel it.
    2. Uncheck any third-party app in the Apps section of your device in iTunes.
    3. Sync.
Subsequent syncs should work, even if you re-check the app, but you have to do the above procedure everytime when iTunes is restarted.

  • Leopard Mail is stuck in an infinte loop, crashing, while syncing over IMAP

I'm trying to setup an IMAP account on Mail in Leopard.
Didn't realise it was going to be so painful
I set up the basic IMAP account OK, and can send and receive emails.
Now I'm trying to copy over my existing mailboxes so that they're on the IMAP server.
I'm carefully moving about 50 messages at a time from a folder 'On my Mac' into an IMAP folder.
One of the messages was 10MB in size, and I realised this wasn't a great idea. So during the upload, I clicked the little 'cancel' X in the progress bar.
That seemed to work OK, and I carried on for 10 min or so, but now Mail is suddenly caught in an infinite loop.
I get repeated warning messages saying:
"Some actions were taken while the account was offline could not be completed". It seems to be still trying to copy the 10MB email message, and I get more and more copies of that message appearing in a temporary local folder. Then Mail just crashes.
Each time I open mail, it's the same, thing. A few warning messages, then crash. So I'm stuck in an infinite loop.
Be warned people: IMAP over Mail is still pretty buggy.

This forum is for troubleshooting Mail under Mac OS 10.4 Tiger, not Leopard. You'll probably want to post your question in the Leopard Mail discussions:
