IPad demanding passcode when there isn't one!

I got my iPad at the end of June from the Apple online store. A few weeks later, for no apparent reason, it requested a password for security settings, which I had not set. Since I could access the itunes store from my computer, this wasn't a major problem, so I learned to live with it. Then, three weeks ago, it requested a passcode to gain any access at all. As there seemed no alternative, I went through a complete reset, and had to reload all my apps, without any saved data (the one upside to this was getting to play "Angry Birds" all over again!). For three weeks that was OK, but now, out of the blue, it's demanding a passcode again, so I'm having to do a total reset again. Has anyone else encountered this? Looks as if I'll have to take it back to Apple

Are you sure someone isn't turning it on when you're not around? I have never seen anyone complain about that happening and have never seen it happen to anyone else.

    Every time I connect the phone with the cable, the question to trust the MacBookPro comes up, which I answer 'Trust'. Doesn't help.

    same thing happened to me...i turned the phone completely off by holding the on/off switch on top. It asks you to "slide" the br to turn it off...do that...wait a few seconds and turn it back on.
    It seems if you have a week signal, check the vmail and delete with the week symbol, the hone doesn't register you ever listened or deleted the message. Hope that helps!

    If you go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices you can see if you have an iTunes backup. You need one dated before or the exact time you started the restore.

  • HT1386 It says to click the device button in the upper right corner....there isn't one.  Itunes doesn't even recognize my devices since I did the most current update.  I have two iPhones, thru different carriers, and neither one works now!

    I did the latest iTunes update...I have 2 iPhones--each thru a different provider.  Now, I can't sync to download any music from iTunes.  iTunes doesn't recognize either device now.  I went thru diagnostics, didn't work.  I tried the suggestions from Apple...it says to click the device button in upper right corner....there isn't one.  When I connected each for the first time after update, it "installed device drivers".  I have checked for further updates on iTunes--nothing.  I made sure there were no updates listed for iPhones...all up to date.  I get an error code and from what I have looked through in forums etc, it seems like a lot of people are getting it...0ex000084 I believe it was.  Windows opens to download photos but that's it.  Devices are not listed at all.  I have tried all 3 USB ports in computer too.  I have never had any problems before this update!!  HELP!  I just bought $15 worth of music I can't download to phones now!

    On the left hand side of iTunes do you have the sidebar up left hand side?
    If this is not up then try this, with iTunes open press "Control" and "s" together and it should bring it up. From the sidebar it should show an option devices with the iPhones underneath it.

  • I am no longer able to use a keyboard shortcut to close a window when there is only one window open.

    I can use Command+W when there are multiple tabs open to close one window at a time, but not when there is only one window remaining. It's driving me crazy because I have to click on the red dot. It won't close with File > Close either. Nothing changed (that I know of) from last week to this that would cause this. It works fine in safe mode but I can't figure out what's conflicting.     Problem solved! It's the Evernote add-on. They updated something on November 6. I've disabled it until that quirk is fixed. Thanks.

    why does fix capitalization work when there is only one space after the period in pages 09?  For example:  "Turn on 3rd St. After the traffic light."  There is only one space after the period in "St."  shouldn't it only auto correct after TWO spaces..??  the word After, should be after..

    You may also use a noBreak space after the period at the end of the abbreviation.
    If I remember well, in such case the capitalization will not apply.

    Hi experts,
    I am developing a Webdynpro app and I can't find the way of skiping the search help dialog when there is only one entry on the result, just like in SE37 when you put the function name with * and it automatically puts the only ocurrence in the field with no dialog for selection. Right now my application is working correctly but it alwas show the dialog even when there is only one entry on the result.

    n = lines( lt_object_list ).  " this gives the number of records in internal table..

    When receiving an email, why does it say 'More. . .' in the To email address line when there is only one email address? It looks like there is more than one recipient when there is actually just one. 

    Have you rebooted since the deletions.  That will empty a number of caches and may restore the freed up space. Also open the iPhoto Library package with the Finder as shown in this screenshot
    locate the iPod Photo Cache folder and delete its contents.  Make no other changes to the contents of the iPHoto LIbrary Package.
