IPad disabled and forgotten iCloud password

Hi
I hope you can help.  My 85 year old father has locked his iPad.  I followed the instructions on apple support to erase and restore using recovery mode.  This worked however I am now at the Activate iPad screen and it is now asking for the AppleID that was used to set up the Ipad.
I discovered he has two for some reason and neither work although I can log into them.  It seems he set up a seperate icloud account and doesn't remember the password.
The message reads:
"This iPad is currently linked to an AppleID (t*******@icloud.com).Sign in with the AppleID that was uded to set up this iPad"
I then tired to reset the icloud password and it asks for his birthdate which I am entering correctly but it says it's wrong
I'm going around in circles, what else can I do
Your help would be appreciated

Go here and see if you can reset the password.

Try and force the iPad into Recovery Mode
    1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times.

You have to restore the device within iTunes. You want to use the same computer that you always sync with so that you can restore your iTunes content. You can restore with any other computer, but you will lose everything on the iPad.
    Instructions can be found here.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1212
You will probably need to restore using Recovery Mode. You can read about it here.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4097
Or you can follow these Recovery Mode Instructions
Disconnect the USB cable from the iPad, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off iPad: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for iPad to turn off.
If you cannot turn off iPad using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the iPad turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to iPad. When you reconnect the USB cable, iPad should power on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears you can release the Home button.
If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the recovery mode alert that iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode.
    Use iTunes to restore iPad.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.

my iPad asks for my iCloud password but I can not. that I can do? the problem is that I try to access it by putting my email but I do not remember which was which I put.

If the old ID is yours, and if your current ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • Hubby and I both have our own iPads, laptops, and apple/icloud id's.  We both sync everything to iCloud. Just realized that several of my email folders are appearing in his Notes, and we can't delete them.  Help!

Hubby and I both have our iPads, laptops, and apple/iCloud id's.  We both sync everything to iCloud.  My iPad is the newest device - got it about a month ago.
I have created many inbox folders on my laptop in my email.  We just noticed that many of my inbox folders are showing up on his iPad in Notes.  They look like "major headings" or "categories" for lack of a better term.  There are no notes or anything under any of these categories.  We've tried to delete these "categories" from his Notes, but can't do it.  What's happening, and how can we fix this?

If you are using a PC, log on to iCloud using Safari (rather than Explorer) to reset the photostream. Then turn iPhone/iPad photostream off and back on. I was getting the same server error as you and this advice from another blog worked for my iPhone and iPad.  But I still can't get photostream deleted from my apple tv. There does not seem to be a photostream on/off control In Apple tv 4.4 software.  I tried switching the screen saver to one of the ones that comes preloaded on the device, then back to photostream but all the old photos are still there.  If anyone can help with this, I would appreciate it.

  • Forgotten iCloud password and 2nd email

My mum has forgotten her iCloud password and doesn't know what is other email to reset iCloud password. We hit password reset many times but got no email to continue, therefore we couldn't know which email it has been sent to.
    The big issue is
    * She has an iPhone 6, with Find my iPhone activated, she can use the phone normally, but cannot delete or deactivate the iCloud account
    * She got a new iPhone 6 Plus, restored using the old iPhone 6 backup. It results in the iPhone 6 Plus is registered with the forgotten iCloud account as well. It cannot be deleted.
We tried many passwords with the iCloud account, results in account disabled.
We live in Vietnam, there is no Genius Bar here. Can we email her scanned password /or mail a certified copy of her passport to Apple Support to ask for password resetting? The account is on her full name, matching Passport name. Or, can we visit a Genius Bar in Singapore or any other country, presented with her passport, to reset the iCloud account?

    Dear
I do need your advise, my wife has forgotten her iCloud password on her iPhone 5, iOS8.1. She visited https//appleid.apple.com and attempted to reset password by using Email authentication then click 'next' through 'Email has been sent' page. However, the email was sent to her email account which is [email protected] Since this email could not be accessed because it uses a same password as the iCould. In addition, we also forget the answers for security questions as well.
