IPad disconnecting from home and public wifi
My iPad when being used at home or using a free/public wifi will disconnect during use. Anyone know what can help, I'm getting charged data usage because I don't catch that it keeps getting disconnected.
You can turn off your cellular connection in settings.
As far as wifi is concerned, might need to try some things.
Make sure IOS is updated to latest version

Reset Network Settings
Go to settings/general/reset/reset network settings. Then try to connect to network.
If its your home router, then reboot router by unplugging for 5-10min. (do this while you're resetting network settings).
If problem persists, then check for firmware updates on your router.(you check router manufacturer support website for downloads and instructions).

I live in a student house where 5 of us are all connected to the same house network. The other day both my Ipad and my laptop lost connection to the internet and I was unable to see my home group as an option to connect to on my laptop, but once i restarted the router I was able to connect again. However my Ipad still is not showing the option of my home network, even though it was previously connected to it for a couple of months prior. I know how to make all assessed networks appear on your laptop, but I have no idea how on my Ipad. Any suggestions please?
Try restting your iPad.
Reset iPad: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Ignore the "Slide to power off".
If that doesn't cure the problem try Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings. -

My problem is that the wifi created from my iPhone disconnects on my iPad often. Hard to find the wifi again. Often solved by turning wifi off an on on both devices, but why do i have to do this way?

KentHi, I have the same problem ans it's extremely frustrating... Try going into settings on your iPad and turning bluetooth off. Mine was on and when I turned it off it seemed to disconnect less freaquently. Good luck!

Try #5 below.
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

How can I completely get my iPhone and iPad disconnected from iTunes Match? I don't usually have Cloud access and find iTunes Match to be very annoying.
Csoud1 is correct. But if you still want to keep your iTunes Match subscribed and did not want to sync with your iOS devices, do the following:

My 5530XM is acting up again (v.11 firmware). The symtopms are random disconnects from WLAN and, after doing a soft reset, unable to put shortcuts on the home screen (using the Shortcuts theme).
I really think the problem is with the memory card because I can't turn the phone on with the card inside.
Is there a way to scan/repair problems with the memory card? I really, really want to avoid a hard reset. Last time I did that, I lost all my apps from the memory card (I have the Games Edition).
I can try using PC Suite or Ovi Suite to back up my memory card apps, but I don't trust the suites that much. What I'd like to do is drag and drop my memory card apps to another location in my PC, but I cannot see the memory card apps in Windows Explorer.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Go to Solution.I backed up my data. Although my dialer shortcut stopped working, doing the red/green/camera trick allowed me to dial *#7370# . By the way, I had removed my memory card prior to dialing *#7370#.
Looks like things are working better (dialer works), but my new concern is that when I put the memory card back in, I get "preparing memory card." This freaks me out because last time I saw that, I lost ALL the games that came preinstalled on the 5530 (Games Edition). I understand that I backed up my files, but I have this weird feeling that the games don't get backed up. I pulled the memory card out, put it inside an SD adapter and there are readable files in there, but the preinstalled games may be hidden.
Where are the preinstalled apps on the memory card? I just want to back them up manually, to have peace of mind.
I used PC Suite, by the way.

Can any one advise me please - I have recently bought the ipad mini and I have disabled the bluetooth application on the advise read in a book about the ipad - the ipad will stay home normally - however should I decide to take it out and want to use it, do I have to activate the bluetooth to be able to use it away from home?
You only need bluetooth if you are connecting to and using a bluetooth accessory, like BT wireless headphones. You can leave bluetooth on or off and go ahead and use your iPad normally anywhere.
Your iPad will work anywhere - the only things you may have to alter as you travel around with it are cellular and wifi settings. If you have a wifi only iPad mini, you may need to select wifi networks when away from your home network in order to connect. If you have a wifi & cellular iPad mini, you would usually turn off cellular at home and use your home wifi connection. But when away from home, and if outside of range of any free wifi hotspots, you would then need to enable the cellular connection in order to get on the internet.
But using your iPad, and having a data connection are independent things to a degree. You don't need any connection (wifi, or cellular) to read a book or document you've downloaded, or watch a movie you've downloaded, or listen to music or podcasts you've already downloaded. Your iPad only needs the data connection if what you wish to do requires internet access. And Bluetooth is only needed if you want to connect to and use a bluetooth accessory. -

Everytime (since I update to IOS 5) I try to use the network the ipad disconnects me, none of my other devices can't use the internet. I can use all my other devices while I'm not using the ipad to go to the internet (again, even my wire PC.)
I have followed few advice from here (resetting) and the problem remains the same, right now I'm not using my Ipad at home at all since it disrupts/disconnets/reboot my router I mean what do I need an Ipad for if I can get online. HELP!How about some details on what make, model and version router you have and how it is configured?
What you have sounds like a bug in the router firmware or hardware. Check for a firmware update to your router on the manufacturer's support web pages. If you can't find any get a new router. -
I work from home and my headset is always cutting in and out and I am also being disconnected during work hours. This is a huge issue and talking to my tech support team they said that there is something called fiddleroot on my computer which makes certificates for every site I go to, which in turn makes my certificates I need for work not work. I need help removing this from my computer. Please help.
hello Tiffany2181982, unfortunately the fiddler2.com issuer in certificates might be a sign of unwanted software present on your pc that is intercepting secure network traffic. please go into the system control panel and uninstall programs like BrowserSafeguard, BrowserSafe, SafeGuard or other software that sounds suspicious and didn't get installed by you intentionally.

I have been toying with the idea of purchasing an iPad 2. Me and my wife both have separate iTunes accounts as we both have iPhones. I just wondered if it's possible to log into more than one iTunes account on one iPad, or if not would we have to set up a joint iTunes account?
What you could do is have one of you with the main iTunes account and use home sharing to get access to your wife's iTunes music, etc. my wife and I do this, but we each have our own iPads.

Just make sure they buy the AT&T version of Ipad WiFi+3G. It is unlocked, and can use other acrriers micro sim cards.

A program such as Photoshop can legally be installed and activated on two computers at a time for the use of the single licensed user. You can't install legally on your own and a friend's computer for use by the two different people. Prior to Creative Cloud, there was an unwritten limit on how many times a given application could be activated, but there is no longer such a limit under CC. That means you could theoretically install on three or four computers, activating only two at a time, and then deactivating one or both before activating on another computer.

Thank you both for your responses but my daughter was reassured by the salesman in the iStyle store (official Apple store in the UAE) that iMessages would work but conceded that FaceTime wouldn't. My iTunes account is registered in the uk and my daughter's iPhone has iMessages even though she bought it (and uses it) in Dubai. Can anyone else throw any light on this?
