IPad distribution in Sweden.

Hello community.
Since of the release of The New iPad i've been all in to it, a great product, stunning with it's glory and premium feel.
Now however, one month and two weeks after the release in Europe i've started to doubt Apples real third-party shippment services. The demand is huge i know that for a fact (64 gigabyte white model), but one and a half month?
The fact to the matter is, i've not bought the product directly from Apples homepage, instead of a premium, apple certificated re-seller, a company named "Elgiganten", swedish electronics re-seller.
As of me beeing highly anticipated regarding the question, when will it arrive, i've now begun.. more and more upsetting myself to not have acquired it yet by this time. So this leads to my question.
Is the U.S and China being primarly focused on and Europeans left out?
This is my feel on the matter, and please have respect for that.
And just as a bonus, interesting question.
How many iPads of the 64gig white callibre is daily beeing constructed?
Thanks for've taking your time reading this.
Sincerely,
Kevin Ohlsson.
- In Time, an brand new iPad owner.

Since you've bought it from the Apple's homepage, have you tried the following steps?
Go to http://store.apple.com/se
Click help, select any section and the hotline number will appear on the top right corner which is Ring 020-120 99 71
Contact Apple directly with anyone of the shipment methods. If you're doing it through phone, select the bridging number that will allow you to talk to Apple.se's after-sales team and you could enquire where the iPad actually is, right now.
They'll require your billing info you input on your order and your order number for verification usually. If you don't have the order number, it'll be likely for them to ask for your email address.
By the way, my experience with Apple's assigned courier over here (DHL) wasn't good. They don't do much about verification of the recepient, they don't really care about name, time, about signing etc except for one experience I had, so I'm pretty cautious with these details. I often contact the courier or at least track the shipment.

  • Using a US iPad Mini in Sweden

I live in Sweden and am going to the US soon. While there I was hoping to buy and ipad mini. My question is if I buy one with cellular serivce can I use any swedish sim card I want with it? Also does it make a difference which US carrier I choose and do I have to pay for any US data plan to get started?

The iPads are not locked to the carriers. You should be able to get a local SIM card for using in just about any country. The iPad takes a microSIM, but it is the same card just cut to a smaller size. If a carrier you wish to use does not have microSIMs, then you can get their regular SIM and cut it to size yourself.
    http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2010/05/sim-trim-cutting-card-down-to-microsim-si ze/
The iPad's cable has the iPad's 30 pin connector on one end and a USB connector on the other end, so it can be attached to almost any USB power source for charging. The iPad's AC charger is universal, it can be used world wide with the correct prong adapter. In fact, the one for the US is identical to the ones for other countries, there is just a tiny part with the prongs that Apple switches out. Perhaps a UK Apple Store can get you this tiny piece to convert your charger from US to UK style prongs.
The iPhones and the iPods have 5 watt chargers. The iPad has a 10 watt charger. But they are interchangeable. The iPad's charger is self-limiting, so you can plug an iPhone or iPad into it without fear. The iPad will charge with 5 watts, it just takes longer.

  • LiveCycle Form used on an iPad/Distribution Issues. PLEASE HELP!

I am a young designer with a complicated problem. I have virtually no experience building interactive forms and I have a client that wants to do the following:
-Take a form and fill out some of it on a pc
-Then send it to an iPad, use the app SignMyiPad to insert photos taken with the iPad into image fields in the partially filled out form-
-Fill out the rest form on the iPad
-Then send the fully filled out form back to a pc
For reference, he has given me a form that a business associate of his is already using to do the above, however, the designer that created the existing form quit and is now on bad terms with the associate. This means I can't ask this person about the process he used that makes this work. My background is in print design, but after watching a few tutorial videos and playing around with some of the features on my own I understand the basics of creating a form in LiveCycle (I think).
I've made several test forms (just a few fields on a page) to send to my client to make sure I could create what he wanted. Unfortunately, I can't even find out if the forms I created will work the way he wants because my biggest issue so far is actually getting the pdf onto his iPad! When I email the files, sometimes they show up as an attachment icon which he can touch (click) to save and work with but most of the time the pdfs appear in the body of the email like an embedded image and he can do nothing with them. Sometimes if I send a plain text email from Outlook, it makes it to his iPad as an attachment he can work with but that only worked once with a totally blank form. When I filled some of it out and tried again, the info that was typed into the form and was saved on the pc was lost when that same file made it to his inbox.
Can anyone offer any insight? I truly have no idea what I'm doing and I really don't want to let my client down.

We have a solution that allows you to do most of what you want, including bulding the form, having people fill it out either in Reader (as an XFA-PDF) or on the iPad (as an HTML form).
You design the form once, and it will by styled correctly on the appropriate platform.

  • Can I limit iPad deployment to iPad 2?

Hiya guys, I've had a look at modifying the info.plist file (UIRequiredDeviceCapabilities) in my ADT-produced ipa files, and I haven't found a way to limit iPad distribution to iPad 2 only. It seems that you can require certain hardware, but not specific devices.
If you have any info it'd be much appreciated!
We want to limit it because our app runs fine on 3GS, 4, and iPad 2, but it blacks out and crashes intermittently on iPad 1. Memory usage is varying during the crash, so our working assumption is that the display is eating the conventional memory. More on that in another thread though!

As been mentioned, ideally you'd want to optimize the app to run well enough on the iPad 1, but one other option would be to specify device requirements in your Info.plist that would automatically limit the app to iPad 2s. You do this by listing device requirements, specifically still-camera and setting the device family to iPad only.
Check out UIDeviceRequiredCapabilities section here: http://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#documentation/general/Reference/InfoPlistKeyRefere nce/Articles/iPhoneOSKeys.html
So you could use a few device requirements that limit it to what the iPad2 supports. This needs to be added to the Info.plist. This can be done by adding the code in the -app.xml file before you compile the app, or by unzipping the ipa and modifying the Info.plist directly.
Really though, Apple is not going to look kindly on the idea of limiting the app based on perceived performance issues. There's a good chance that they'd still reject the app if you require certain hardware features, but don't actually use them in your code.
Another thing to consider, no one is going to read the description in the App Store to see if it runs on their devices. They'll download it and run it, and if it's poor performance, you'll get poor reviews. At least with limiting by hardware, the app won't install on their device (if Apple approves it of course).
    Anyway, just a thought.

  • Which iPad 4 versions can you use with Swedish mobile SIM cards?

Browsing around user forums and getting more and more confused :b If I want to use an iPad 4 with a Swedish SIM card as of today = being able to use an iPad 4 in Sweden without Wi-fi connection, which models do I have to choose from? Read a lot about 4G technology not being compatible with Swedish technology etc.... Help?

You can not "unlock it to T-Mobile". If the phone is locked to AT&T, ONLY AT&T can authorize unlocking it. Contact them and find out if it's eligible for unlocking. If it is, and you meet their requirements, they will process the request to unlock it. If it is not eligible, and/or you don't meet their requirements, then it can only be used on AT&T.

See if rebooting the iPad will help.  Hold both the Home and Sleep buttons for several seconds until the Apple logo appears.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" arrow.  It will take a minute or two for the iPad to restart.

  • How long can you share a folio file for and how many people simultaneously

    Hi There,
Questions per above title, can you share a folio file via the content viewer for an unlimited time?  How many people could you share it with simultaneously?
As well I am trying to understand do you have to pay for DPS (and if so can it just be the single version) to be able to share a .folio file through the content viewer.  Can you just have in design 5.5+.
In addition, if the .folio file is set up for Ipad distribution when shared will it be formatted and fully usable/interactive through the content viewer by the person you are showing it to on the ipad?
    Any help is appreciated.

You do not need to pay to share a folio file via the content viewer.
I'm not aware of any limits on how long a folio can be shared to, or how many e-mails a folio can be shared to.
And yes, on the interactivity question.

  • IBooks Author, PhoneGap, or Baker Framework? - That is the question

We've developing an interactive picture book in iBooks Author that primarily uses iBA as the shell, with most of the content and interactivity done in the HTML widget. I'm using Hype (http://tumultco.com/hype) to create the HTML5 & CSS, and the book looks great ... in Safari on my Mac. The book works fairly welll in iBooks on the iPad, but there are glitches and some images break up during animation sequences. Reading through these forums and elsewhere, it appears that iBA is inconsistent in how well it handles HTML5 animations, transitions, and audio.
We're keeping images optimized (total iBA file will wind up being only about 25MB), re-using graphics when possible, and trying not to do too many things at once on the screen, but I'm starting to wonder if iBA is the best solution for publishing a picture book. Perhaps having a large HTML widget causes iBA to choke?
The point of all this is that I've been pondering other solutions: i.e., PhoneGap (http://phonegap.com/) and the Baker Framework (http://bakerframework.com/). These allow development in HTML and publishing on the iPad. PhoneGap and Baker Framework both use Apple's X-Code tool to create an application shell, which is then submitted through Apple's Developer Program (not iBooks' iTunes Producer / iTunes Connect method). Although these tools create "apps," some of the apps are being published as books in the iBooks store.
My inquiring mind wants to know:
== Anyone have any experiences, pro or con, with PhoneGap or the Baker Framework?
== Any caveats to know if using iBooks Author with HTML to publish a picture book?
== Does Apple decide if something submitted as an "app" is really a "book" and therefore gets sold via the iBooks store? Or, vice versa?
== Is there any way to submit an X-Code built app to the iBooks store without going through the Developer Program?
== Does Apple allow selling an app in the iTunes store and the iBooks store?
Just trying to pick your brains about the best, easiest, most appropriate route to get our picture book published successfully.
Thanks for reading this far... JP

    ....PhoneGap or the Baker Framework?
Haven't and wouldn't waste time w/PG. Both mean working with Xcode in the end. I prefer Baker FWIW.
== Any caveats to know if using iBooks Author with HTML to publish a picture book?
HTML would need to be stripped and reformatted/styled for use w/iBA. iBA is iPad distribution only, so you won't be reaching iPhone or touch owners.
== Does Apple decide if something submitted as an "app" is really a "book" and therefore gets sold via the iBooks store? Or, vice versa?
Apps are apps....books are books - two different programs. You decide which to take your chances with. I have 'books' in both.
== Is there any way to submit an X-Code built app to the iBooks store without going through the Developer Program?
Totally different programs. You can't submit an 'app' as a book unless you make it into a book and then you need to use either the free or paid books programs having nothing to do with a developer account.
== Does Apple allow selling an app in the iTunes store and the iBooks store?
Again, two different programs, registrations and processes. If you can make the same subject matter apply to, and work with/thru both, go for it with two efforts, but it won't be one thing in two stores.
For me, you haven't really made it clear what you want to do in the end, so these responses are primarily cached in my guessing what that may be, exactly.
Your skills, budget, timeline, resources and content-in-hand may well define only one option regardless...or none - who knows.

  • Why aren't there all the nike sport music albums in my country?!

    Hi!
I have bought all the albums available in Sweden Itunes Store. But when I looked at the USA version they have more albums. Im a good paying customer and since for some ******** reason Apple have given us "Build Your Strength 2" but now "Build Your Strength 1"?!?!?!?! ...and apparently being a good old VISA credit card customer isn't enough and the freedom of having a credit card is worthless when all the suddenly I discover that my credit card has an "nationality" (international visa cards can't be used with USA itunes store?!?!). So there I am with my brand new Ipod nano 4gb, nike+ kit, nike+ shoes, nike+ clothing and I still can't as a good customer get my hands on all the albums which I actually love because itunes store don't allow us to buy them from the usa and haven't added them to our swedish store and offcourse apple as always never has any email support I can get in contact with. So now I wonder if someone can calm me down and shed some light on how I can buy these albums?
    best regards, romeo

I wonder if someone can calm me down and shed some light on how I can buy these albums?
Sorry, but calming you down will be your own challenge.
As to why any given track or album isn't available through the Swedish iTunes Store, as has been said here many, many times, it's because whoever holds the rights to those tracks for distribution in Sweden hasn't licensed them to Apple. Unless and until they do, there's nothing Apple can do.
apple as always never has any email support I can get in contact with.
Of course they do. They have web forms at the bottom of just about every page linked from the iTunes Store Customer Service page.
And if you want to suggest content, you can submit suggestions for the iTunes Store through the feedback page (include a note that you're referring to the Swedish iTunes Store). Whether or not your suggestion will ever be acted upon will depend on a number of factors, some out of Apple's control (as I said, the artists and record companies have to be willing to license the tracks to Apple to sell in your country), so don't expect instant action.
Forum Tip: Since you're new here, you've probably not discovered the Search feature available on every Discussions page, but next time, it might save you time (and everyone else from having to answer the same question multiple times) if you search a couple of ways for a topic, both in the relevant forums, in the User Tips Library and in the Apple Knowledge Base before you post a question.
    Regards.

  • Can I limit who can view my app

Hi, I'm creating an app for internal use within my clients company. They primarily use Samsung tablets and potentially Ipads.
I'm a dps pro subscriber and I'm considering upgrading to the enterprise version for the entitlement features.
I initially thought I'd distribute the app to clients using the share feature in the folio builder. I then discovered I could greate a .APK file and email this, the benefit being that they will see it as an app rather than having to use through the Adobe Content Viewer. I'm aware this will only work on Android so I will have to stick with the share feature for any Ipad distribution.
Can I use Google Play to distribute my app to only a select audience, bearing in mind I wouldn't want the public to see the app never mind access it? If so is this using the Enterprise subscription or Is this a feature of Google play?
This is just what I've managed to pick up from tutorials and pdfs.
Any guidance would be much appreciated!
    Thanks

You Need DPS Enterprise Edition for this. You may use restricted distribution for this.

Do you have an idea how it will work?

What I forgot to mention: an update of Mac OS X (10.7.4) before it worked two weeks ago with the same signature and provisioning profiles already.
