You've connected the iPad via cable to your computer, and your computer's iTunes is up-to-date ? If it's icon isn't showing then try one of these troubleshooting pages :
PC : iPhone, iPad, or iPod not recognized in iTunes for Windows - Apple Support
Mac : If you don't see your connected device in iTunes for Mac - Apple Support
If the iPad is disabled then you'll need to reset the iPad back to factory defaults, after which you can restore to your backup

iPad does not show on latest iTunes update.  Suggestions?

    Hello Dave,
Sorry to hear that your iPad is currently not recognized by iTunes.  I found an article with steps you can take when you experience an issue like this.  I wasn't sure whether you were using a Windows or Mac computer, so I included the respective articles for each:

  • Time Machine does not back up all iTunes music files

Hello, I'm trying to view the music files, on my Time Machine backup disc, from a CD that I recently imported into iTunes. My iTunes library resides on my hard drive. The backup disc shows files for some of the other music that is in my iTunes library, but not from the new CD. I did several backups after importing the new music, but the song files still do not show up in Time Machine. Any ideas for why the files don't show up?
My ultimate aim is to copy those music files onto another computer, but my research on the support pages suggests that I should not do it this way. Instead, I will copy the music files onto another disc (not using Time Machine) and then import them onto the other computer. Please confirm that this is the best way to proceed.
But in the meantime, I'm wondering why Time Machine does not show my newly imported music.
Thanks very much for any help you can provide.

    New formulation of my question:
A file dated at 10:00 may not appear in the back-up dated 11:00.

  • HT1535 All of my books on my ipad are not backing up to itunes on my computer, this is a new problem.  The backup used to capture everything.  How do I fix this?

I have 130 books on my ipad but only 95 in itunes.  I'm running the most current version of itunes.  I used to be able to just do a backup to my computer and it would capture everything but now it's not doing it.  How do I get all of my books backed up to my itunes on my computer (windows laptop).

during the update of my iPad some error report came and after that it is not working. i have tried pressing the off key and home key at the same time. i also reinstalled the iTunes bt it is not showing any results.

If you are seeing the "connect to iTunes" message - You probably need to restore your iPad using Recovery Mode. Here are the instructions.

  • IPad does not sync correctly with iTunes

Hey, I have a problem and would appreciate some help.
I have all my music library on itunes on my macbook (including some albums that I have created as compilations by collating multiple albums and for which I have edited the album cover photo ie selected a photo of my own). Some of the songs have been entered in my library by cds that I had and the rest by being purchased directly from itunes.
When I sync my itunes library with my ipods all is well and the albums, artists, playlists etc sync exactly the same (that is covers, tracks, order etc remain as shown on my library).
When I sync with my iphone 5S or my ipad air then I get strange... Some albums show correclty, others have a different cover photo - not the one that I have selected and edited on itunes -  some have the tracks doubled or even the entire albums doubled, etc...
Although I have tried to solve this on my own, i have not managed yet...
BTW both my devices (iphone and ipad) sync automatically with icloud and so I only connect them to my macbook in order to sync the music. Maybe this is the problem?? Is there any way to have icloud NOT sync music with the devices?
On my macbook I have tried the ioption 'manage music manually' and then selecting the albums on my own but i get the same strange results.
    Any ideas?
I even tried to erase all the music from my ipad/iphone (by selecting 'manage music manually' and then not selecting any of the albums or tracks in my library) but the music, at least part of it remains there... basically only the songs or albums purchased from itunes showing the icloud download icon next to them.
Any sugestions on how to solve this issue?
    THX for your help,
    Dimitris

Scrap that, it seems to have self remedied

  • My Ipad does not back up.

The small back-up icon just keeps going on but never stops. Because of this I cannot update the IOS either.

Yes, I do.  Even though all the wifi stuff is in another room, I'm able to be on the internet with a good signal from where I've been putting the ipad to sleep.  I'll try doing it right by the equipment and see if it works better.  Thank you.

  • HT1386 When I try and sync my brand new iPad  I get an error message saying the IPad does not have the latest iTunes but the Ipad says it is up to date and I am stuck in the middle? Help.

The specific message is must download iTunes version 10.7 or later?

You will need at least Snow Leopard (10.6.8) to install iTunes 10.7. Check the Apple link below for requirements and ordering info for Snow Leopard.

  • HT2731 My iPad does not show in iTunes but my iPod does why is this?

My iPad does not show in my iTunes but my iPod does. I get a message saying there is a error and a long number anyone help. Thanks

It may have something to do with a conflict with any antivirus or security software that you may be running. I don't know if you've read this, but here is Apple's support article for Windows. You say you keep fixing the problem - I assume you mean by reinstalling iTunes?
