Ipad download via 3G too large

Downloading app via 3G led to message: larger than 20mb, download via wi-fi or i-tunes. iPad shows app with loading indicator. Connected via itunes, but app did not download. iPad app icon shows loading but no blue bar indicator of progress. Tried to delete, but icon does not present X.

I have a 3G Data plan as my only internet access.
You don't say what type of computer you have and I can only help with Mac but no doubt you can share access with windows too.
Put the Mac online using 3G > System Prefs > Internet sharing. > via Airport.
Check under 'Help' for more info.
Don't forget to put a password on your new hot spot so the neighbours don't use it.
The other option is a 3G to WiFi Travel router.. MyZone, MiFi etc.

When I tried to download XCode 3 (XCode 3.26 and iOS SDK 4.3) from the developer website, the download manager displayed an error message just after the file finished downloading, saying that the file was too large for my hard drive (insufficient memory). Although it was a 4GB file, I had plenty of disk space. This happened twice with two different disk drives (a 250 GB Iomega and an 8GB flash drive). Any recommendations?

Where can I locate an incomplete download-File is too large to restart

Hi all, I have been downloading a very large file 2.42GB and I was nearly there with only about 400MB to go. I tried to pause the file which was fine but as soon as I hit the resume download it cancelled it and has now started downloading it from scratch!!! arghh this is very annoying.
Is there anyway I can restart this download, has the partial download been saved in a folder I can access somewhere.
Any help would be most welcome.

Hi there Melli and CArolyn. Yes I've just started having this same problem. I have a pretty slow internet connection that has a habit of dropping out, and if a download is partially complete I used to be able to open it in finder and double click the file, and it would RESUME downloading where it left off (clicking the 'resume' icon didn't do this, but using the finder window did, I don't know why). Now, since about a week ago, it's started the download all over again, whichever method I use. Since I have a limited and slow connection, this is a big hassle! I don't know if I have accidentally changed some settings, or if it's since the last software update I did or what. Can anyone help?

I havejust taken a series of photographs with my iPad that I would like to share with family and specific friends ONLY. I have set up the photos I want to share in Photo Stream. I have synced them to my PC via iCloud. Everything is fine except, the pictures are far too large to share ... and I don't know what exactly I am supposed to do in order to give my family access to these Photo Stream pictures.
How do I reduce the size of photo stream pictures once they are on my PC via iCloud?
What exactly do I do to give access to the photos on Photo Stream to specific people?
How can I share the videos I have taken with my iPad?

Kind: JPEG
JPEG Quality: Maximum
Include: [√] Title and keywords
[√] Location information
Size: Full Size
File Name: Use filename
Select one of the photos and open in with Preview.
Tools menu > Show Inspector
Under the second button choose IPTC and it is all there.

OS X 10.4.7 udates too large to download with dial up

The Mac OS X Update combine for Intel based macs (version 10.4.11) is 330 MB. That of course is way too large for my dial up internet connection to handle. Where I live there is no other options . . . so my question is . . . what do I do. Is it possible to have the downlaod sent to me on CD by apple or something? Thanks in advance for your help and advice. I tried to check the apple web site and was unable to find an answer.

You are screwed.
I tried going into an Apple store, making an appointment with a Genius (which is the wrong monniker for those people), trying to get the data from another computer, waiting to see if it would eventually download, and a few other things - nothing works.
The 50% of the people in the US with internet connections over 1MB do not seem to realize that the other 50% of us with internet connections under 512k (and no other options) exist.
Software vendors now assume that everyone can get updates via the internet.
People with high-speed internet don't seem to know how hard it is to use a computer when you cannot get OS, and application updates.
Even the security companies have this all wrong. They want me to download files which are 10s of megabytes so that they can protect me from viruses and adware.
I love installing a program I purchased in a store only to find that it will not run without some massive program that I can only get via download.
FYI: I have PCs, Macs, and Linux. They all have this same issue. But, you can pay Microsoft to send you a CD of OS patches, updated apps, IE releases, and/or media player. While I do not like MS, they are the one software vendor that seems to give the low-speed internet users some options.
Apple does not want to market to people without access to high-speed internet. Its was the number one design goal of iTunes and the apple.com website - if you don't have the bandwidth, then we don't want you here.
They continue to add more products and features which are 100% dependent on a high-speed pipe.

Movie too large via imovie and no sound via idvd.

Help! I have a movie on a minidv tape that is one hour and 21 minutes long.
This is a very important tape and I dont want to delete any of it.
I don't understand why I can't create a dvd (which can hold a 2 hour movie).
If I use idvd it captures the video but there is no sound.
If I download it via imovie, then try to create a dvd, it tells me that the movie
is too large. How can it be too large if the movie is less than 2 hours and should be able to fit on the dvd.
Can anyone help this beginner. (I just bought this g5 yesterday).

Sounds can be tricky and iDVD can count in sounds that You thought be out-
side Your movie (stretching out after the video ended). If So re do the sound
part of Your movie and be carefull that no audio cont after the movie is ended.
In iDVD: (strang but it is like this)
Best Quality is for movies + menus more than 60 min and less than 120
Best Performances for movies + menu less than 60 min.

You have to connect the iPad to your computer to update.
If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1.3. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.

Lots of free file hosters out there. Mediafire.com as an example. Upload a file there, copy and paste the download link you are given into your email to the client, then delete it as soon as the client successfully downloads it. Mediafire has 10 gb storage for free accounts.
Email is limited to 10 MB on attachments. So that's where file hosting comes in.

Following the upgrade to iOS 7.0.3 on all our iPhone and iPad devices, it has been identified that when sending emails around 100KB in size and over an error message appears on the device stating “Cannot Send Mail The message was rejected by the server because it is too large.” See error message below. The send/receive limit is over 10MB so this is not the issue.
We are in an Exchange Environment using Microsoft Activesync. This issue is not evident in iOS 6. This has been tested on an iPhone 3GS running version iOS 6.1.3. We have been unable to repeat the issues seen on iOS 7 on the older OS. It is not possible to roll back to the older operating system as Apple are no longer signing the software.
We use Microsoft Active Sync to connect to our Exchange servers through a TMG. The issue is very inconsistent, some identical emails go through, some fail. This is not an issue with the send/receive limit as this is over 10MB. The error message when it fails on the TMG is Status: 413 Request Entity Too Large, which we believe is from IIS on the CAS server.
Does anyone have any suggest course of actions to take?

This resolution have to attend at the server not with the ios device. My employer's mail administrator reject me to correct it from the server. As his concern is, if ither ios devices works why don't mine? So I am helpless than changing my iphone. It works fine for early versions of ios and with androids. And also one of my friends iphone4 with ios 7 (similar as mine) works too. So I guess it's something wrong with my iPhones settings. The file name only has 6 characters and I'm not sure what the .mod format is. So that's why they are not seen by the iPad.
Another way to transfer. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

When trying to edit or download a pdf document, it becomes too large or on screen or normal size with many lines of text blacked out. How do I get it to do the normal presentation of the document

For years my pdf docs downloaded for viewing or editing as normally sized documents.
Now when I pull up a pdf from file, it becomes too large or becomes normal page size but many of the lines of text are blacked out. How do I correct it to go back to the previous default page size?

Are you opening those files in Acrobat or Reader? You can set the default page size in the Page Display preferences. Choose Acrobat/Reader > Preferences in Mac OS, or Edit > Preferences in Windows to access the preference settings. Do the black lines only appear when the PDF is zoomed in? Or are they there regardless of the page magnification?
