IPad downloads stuck on 'waiting'?

Trying to download apps on my iPad (Wifi) but keeps saying 'waiting'?

Do you have any apps downloading that you dont see...perhaps in a folder?
If not, try going into the app store to the app you are trying to download. If it says installed next to the app, hit your home button and your app should begin to download.
If not, try to delete the app by holding it down and tapping the 'x' next to it. From there, simply redownload it from the app store and your back in buisness.
Still having trouble...?
Try downloading a similar app or go onto your main computer.
go into the iTunes Store
Search the app you are looking for in the search bar
Download it onto your main computer and sync it to your device.
(You may have to cancel the download on your device first before you sync it to your main computer.)
If you are still having difficulties try this
go into iTunes>more>Downloads
look for waiting dowloads there
Delete the waiting download and redoenload the app from the App Store either on your iPad or your main computer
For Future Reference: Usually if you have one download having difficulties, it messes up your entire system which makes using your device that much harder. I recomend the last option I suggested. It worked for me and this other user by the name of britewhitelight

  • Mavericks download stuck in waiting

I'm trying to download Mavericks and the app gets stuck in my launchpad on waiting. Sometimes after sitting in "waiting" it just stops trying to download all together. How do I fix this?

Well I'm in a right old pickle with it; trying to install on my snow leoparded out (10.6.8) Imac (7,1) here's what I've done so far:
Attempted download - stuck in waiting mode.
Attempted download from the purchases tab - stuck in waiting mode
Signed out and back in to the App Store, unhid purchases and attempted download from the purchases tab - again stuck in waiting mode
Looked in the applications folder in an attempt to remove any part-downloads - no sign of them.
Installed the latest installer - to no avail.
No Launchpad either to try as this install is Snow Leopard.
Network connection is fine - downloaded and installed mavericks through the router onto my other Mac... Macbook Air - Lion.
It's been six days now on and off I've been attemtpting this - very frustrating.
    Any help gratefully appreciated.

  • App downloading stuck on "waiting"

Every time I try to download an app from my iPad, it remans stuck on "waiting". This does not happen on my iPhone (I share the same iTunes account).
I tried resetting network settings, rebooting the iPad, but the issue is still there. I have no pending downloads on iTunes and every other topic I read on this forum didn't help at all.
    Can someone help me out?
    Thanks.

If this was not one of the topics that you read on the forum, give it a try. There is no guarantee that it will work, but I have seen it work for others in the past.
Try signing out of your account and restart your iPad.
Go to Settings>Store>Apple ID and tap the ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button. Go back to Settings>Store> Apple ID and sign in again.

  • Download Stuck in WAITING status

Tonight, tried to download a movie for rental. It started and showed 22 minutes remaining, which is crazy, as usually it immediately hits 2% and I begin watching - I've had the ATV since it was first available and I've never had to wait for a download. I checked my internet connection, iMAC network test reporting 22down/6up, typical for me. When I use Apple TV to watch trailers, youtube, etc., it flies. Trailers download instantly, long YouTube files don't buffer. Everything plays nicely. Now the movie is stuck in WAITING. When I click on the movie icon from main screen and then click on the WAITING button, it switches to DOWNLOADING and then right back to WAITING. I've rebooted ATV, downloaded latest update, etc. Seems everything works great except this one movie download. Any ideas?

I mean knowing alittle about "Music Match" because had it for about a year now and I have a 40 gig size library.. When Music Match is DL tracks you don't DL apps (this is a given). So seems in my case music Match failed for whatever reason, so the OS still thinks it needs to DL song but doesn't. So I can't DL apps because OS still has phantom music tracks to download. So that is where (I believe) I am stuck.. Somehow I need to reset this DL process. Any ideas besides a full restore of my phone would be great. Thanks,
    Chris
Again music Match is turn off on my iphone 5 and still can't down apps from app store.. the get stuck in "waiting" status.

  • Os x 10.8.4. download stuck in waiting

App store app shows update available for os x 10.8.4. and iTunes 11.0.4  I I clicked on 'update' and now I am stuck with 'waiting' next to the update box. I tried to quit the Mac store app and couldn't because the message reads the os is in the process of updating. So here I sit. Except, of course, to check bread dough rising, do laundry, feed my dog, etc etc.   How do I get out of this and why isn't the system updating? Why is it just waiting?
    Thanks much,
    Barb

Press Alt, Command and Esc keys, select App Store and close it. Then, restart and try to install these updates from the App Store.
If you still can't update, download the updates manually from the Apple website > http://support.apple.com/downloads I recommend you to download the 10.8.4 Combo edition

I have an ipad Mini running on IOS8. A Mac book Air running on OS X 10.9.5.
For hours and hours I have been trying to synce my iPad, and syncing is stuck on "Waiting for Changes to be applied"
I spent time restoring the full iPad, erased everything, put it back again...still stuck over and over again....
And now the good news is : THere is no song left on my iPad > Nothing I lost everything.
It have looked in this blog, it seems that people have been suffering on this issue for months and months.
I was about to buy the iPhone6...but frankly, Apple products =yncing is becoming a nightmare.
please APPLE do sometihng about, fix it NOW if you want people to purchase your products. The very reason why Apple WAS so successful was because of the simplicity. All this is gone now. Now you need to become an IT expert and spend hours getting into the systems to fix this or that yourself.
Please apple DO SOMETHING NOW QUICK.

  • All downloads stuck on "Waiting". Unable to update apps/podcasts

Apps/Podcasts/Updates won't download. Instead they just get stuck in "waiting" mode permanently. I have tried rebooting my iPhone to no avail. This happens even if I am dowloading only one podcast. My internet connection is strong and I am trying to download something very small (5 min podcast). Just trying to download one item has been on waiting. This issue started a few days ago for me, after the new iPhone update. This problem is not just mine. Many others are having this problem as well https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3792214?start=60&tstart=0. It doesn't look like Apple has realized that this is an issue for many people.

Ok, tried it and this is what happenned- so Im open to your suggestions and will try them- THANK you for your assistance
In iTens, I have 24 podcasts showing up on the "Download" icon  21 say "tap to resume download" and 3 say "Download error. Tap to retry" Ive tired to retry all 3, but a popup "unable to download podcast" message pops up afterl. "Retry" does nothing, and "Done" does nothing either.-
I didnt see a way to logout of itunes, but I did logout of the apple store via the "Apps" icon, restarted and when I came back its still the same. 63 apps to be updated.  I signed back into the "apps" I went to the updates and then tried to update one manually- when I hit the "Update " button it did not ask me for my PW, but sort of closed and went back to the main screen- liek it would do if it had asked me for the pw and was updating...
    Any tips?

  • Need help for ipad download stuck

I tried to download 3 games on Ipad and now they are all stuck ..."waiting".  I have turned off the ipad, held down power and button...then restarted twice.
I can't delete them as they don't "jiggle" when the rest do ....I have searched for answers... Any help please?
One shows it is trying to download, but has not moved in 24 hours.

Launch iTunes on your computer and see if you have available downloads. After you open iTunes, click on the apps tab on the left side under the Library heading. You will see a window with all of the apps that you have purchased. If there is a number next to the word apps - say the number 2 - that means you have available downloads. Look in the bottom right corner of the iTunes window and there should be a message sating 2 downloads available. Click on that to get to the next window and you may be able to finish downloading the stuck apps in there.
Do this first and then worry about deleting the apps from the iPad. I want you to see if you can finish downloading them in iTunes on your computer - then sync - then delete.
    This is step one.

  • App download stuck on waiting on iPhone 6 plus when the app is purchased on another device

iPhone 6 Plus on AT&T running iOS 8.1.2. When I purchase or "get" an app on my macbook, the app shows up on the 6 plus, but hangs in "waiting." The app, however, will download perfectly on my iPad mini. I have tried restarting the device normally, and restarting it while pressing the home and sleep buttons (hard reset?), resetting network settings, signing out of iTunes and back in, and even setting up the phone as new. The problem occurred before and after doing a complete restore and setting it up as new. The only solution that works is removing the app while in "waiting" status, and initiating the download from the 6 plus itself. I don't know if this is a bug that will be resolved in 8.2 or if I am missing something. (automatic downloads are on and set for both updates and new app downloads, wifi is working) There are no other problems with app downloads on the 6 plus; auto-updates work perfectly. This issue only happens when the download is initiated on another device.

    Ditto!
I too have the same problem. Any luck for you?
I tried everything possible so far but nothing happened.

  • Ipad app stuck on waiting

I downloaded an app from the App store and the icon "waiting" appeared. Shortly after I downloaded it a message popped up saying that this app is not compatible. However, instead of disappearing like it should, it stayed on my home screen as if it was waiting to be downloaded. I tried deleting it but the app would not be deleted. I tried restarting the iPad many time but it still would not download. I also tried syncing with iTunes but it is still, just no longer with the word "waiting" under it. Also, when deleting the app, it refers to it as "" rather the the name.

    Hi pnd97,
It looks like at this point, you may find more information by using another one of Apple's support resources - https://getsupport.apple.com/GetproductgroupList.action.

  • HT201263 using windows 8 computer, ipad sync stuck on 'waiting for changed to be applied'

    Hi
I have downloaded some movies to my computer with digital copy, and would like to sync them to the ipad.  Computer runs on Windows 8, with iTunes 11.1.1.11.  Ipad runs on iOS 7.0.2.  When I sync, the process stops at 'waiting for changes to be applied'.  It seems to hang up there.  What can I do?
    Thanks!

I really don't appreciate the fact that no one from Apple seems to be dealing with the many, many threads that have started on this topic since iOS 7 came out. In any event, I seem to have solved my problem with a full software restoration -- that is, iOS software restoration.
I clicked on "Restore iPhone..." which does a complete reinstall of the iOS but also all apps, photos, songs, etc. Took about 45 minutes, but seems to have worked.
I had previously tried reverting to a backup of my iPhone, but that did not solve the problem. Only a full restore solved it.

  • HT1688 itunes download stuck on waiting

Every time I update or download an app from the App Store, a greyed out widget that says "waiting" shows up on my homescreen.  Tapping, double tapping and trying to delete does nothing.  The only way I can get the actual app to show up is to do a hard reset on my 4S, which is getting really annoying.  I have done the following steps
    1.  Reset network settings
    2.  Reset ALL settings and restored from back up
    3.  Signed out of the Store, hard reset, signed back in
I checked iTunes and there is nothing in the downloads section.  I do not use podcasts so it's not that...this all started a couple of days ago when the iTunes store went down.

    - First try resetting the iPod:
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Next would be to place the iPod in recovery mode. See:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore

  • HT201272 Downloads stuck on waiting

Everytime I download an app from AppStore it sticks on waiting and doesn't download. This is not the first time it's happened it keeps happening!!
I've reset my iPhone - which takes ages and resets everything. This fixes it but then it starts happening again shortly after!!
What's going on and is there a fix?
It's really annoying and makes me want to bin my iPhone!
    Sort it out apple!!!

Apparently going into iTunes, unchecking and rechecking the apps in question solved the issue. Strange, but it worked out...
